  • Patent number: 7076982
Abstract: A concentric bore bend die and clamp insert assembly including a bend die and a clamp insert positioned within a recess formed in the bend die in a tube clamping area of the bend die. The clamp insert includes a curved portion matingly received within a correspondingly shaped curved bore in the recess, such that the curved portion extends between a tube groove in the insert and the curved bore. The curved portion of the clamp insert and the curved bore are radially concentric in order to evenly disperse clamping pressures exerted on the clamp insert in all radial directions across the curved portion of the clamp insert to the curved bore. The clamp insert further includes a non-circular portion that is matingly received within a correspondingly shaped non-circular region of the recess in order to resist rotational movement of the clamp insert with respect to the bend die.

  • Patent number: 7062946
Abstract: A roller guide for the guidance of the wire or rod between the finish rolling mill stands of a wire or rod rolling line. The guide has a guide roller pair which are mutually juxtaposed and journaled on free ends of pivot arms of double arm levers. The lever journals are connected with a support body between the finish mill rolls of the rolling line and which has a centering funnel for the rolled wire or rod between the double arm levers. The whereby the pivotal displacements of the pivot arms are settable and spring adjustable about the lever journals. The roller guide is improved in that the pivot arms have setting elements pressed against the support body and in that an adjustable-pressure pneumatic spring connected with the support body and bearing upon the pivot arm extending away from the guide roller or is connected with this pivot arm.

  • Patent number: 7063110
Abstract: A cutting device for a metal band bundling apparatus includes a band guider, a rotatable knife fitted in a hole of the band guider fixed on a first handle of a metal band bundling apparatus, and a press rod connected with the knife. The press rod consists of a bent portion and a press portion, and the bent portion located to pass across over the first handle and a second handle. A user can hold the grip portions of the first and the second handle with four fingers of a hand and presses the press portion with the thumb of the hand to rotate the rod-shaped knife for a certain angle to cut off a metal band. So cutting operation can be preformed with the thumb of a hand only, very easy and quick to operate after bundling an object with the metal band.

  • Patent number: 7024909
Abstract: An improved machine for performing a swaging operation includes a mandrel and an expandable collet that are mounted to an actuator such as a conventional pneumatic gun. The mandrel includes a plurality of ramped planar engagement surfaces that are slidably engageable with a plurality of planar reaction surfaces on deflectable segments of the collet. The planar nature of the engagement surfaces and the reaction surfaces avoids unwanted deflection of the segments that would otherwise turn the segments into cutting tools, such as would occur if the surfaces were of certain other shapes. The mandrel is rotatably mounted to the pneumatic gun whereby the engagement surfaces are self-aligning with the reaction surfaces during an initial stage of a swaging operation.

  • Patent number: 7013697
Abstract: A method for expanding tubular blanks includes pre-expanding or initially expanding a section of the tube by forcing a punch into an open end of the tube. The punching process may be repeated to achieve up to approximately 50% expansion from the original configuration of the blank. Then, the same pre-expanded section can be further expanded by hydroforming such that the blank is filled with pressurized fluid to achieve further expansion of the initially expanded section up to approximately 100% expansion from the original configuration of the blank. As a final step, the open end of the expanded tube may be cut to its ultimate shape.

  • Patent number: 7007529
Abstract: A press forming machine having a slide plate which reciprocates by driving sources between a lower support stand and an upper support plate and has a forming space between the lower support stand and the slide plate. In the press forming machine, a reference plate for a displacement reference for the slide plate is supported on the lower support stand. The driving sources are engaged with the slide plate by the drive shafts of the driving sources to drive and press the slide plate. The drive shaft is provided with a through hole axially extending in a shaft center thereof, and displacement measuring devices each for each of the drive shafts measures the displacement of the slide plate portion corresponding to the through hole with respect to the reference plate, through the through hole. As a result, the displacements at the pressurized points on the slide plate can be measured.
