  • Patent number: 7134307
Abstract: A plate rolling mill includes a pair of work rolls that hold and press down a plate material therebetween, a plurality of backup rolls that prevent the work rolls from being deformed, and intermediate rolls each of which is disposed between the work roll and the backup roll so as to be shiftable. Each of the intermediate rolls has a contact roll portion that contacts with the backup roll, and an extension barrel portion that is connected to an end of the contact roll portion and does not contact the backup roll at any shifted position. The contact roll is formed to have a convex shape such that a convex center of the contact roll is positioned at a side of the extension barrel portion.

  • Patent number: 7131311
Abstract: When an actuator is operated, an upper die is displaced downwardly, pressing a lower surface of a workpiece against a forming surface. After the upper die is displaced upwardly, an ejecting member is displaced upwardly to push the workpiece upwardly by a lower die. As the workpiece is displaced upwardly, an outer circumferential surface of the workpiece is squeezed by a squeezer projecting radially inwardly from an inner circumferential surface of an outer ring.

  • Patent number: 7124786
Abstract: Linesman type pliers (10) that have provisions for splicing wires together. The pliers (10) have a right body (20) with a first jaw (22) on one end, and a handle (24) on the other end, and a pivotal bore (26) in-between. The first jaw (22) includes a truncated, tapered recess half (28) that is configured to receive an outward-extending stop and the provisions for gripping wire. A left body (32) has a similar jaw, handle, bore and truncated tapered recess half, except with an outward-extending stop (38) on the inner end. A pivot pin (42) is jointly disposed within bores (26) and (36), thus forming a solid-joint that arcuately swivels the right body (20) and left body (32) together into parallel and adjacent alignment. When the jaws are closed a complete, annular, truncated tapered recess (44) is formed that allows insertion of a number of stripped wires that form a twisted splice when the pliers are manually rotated around the stationary wires.

  • Patent number: 7108021
Abstract: A tie wrench for bending mounting clips to secure a fence wire to a fence post is disclosed. The tie wrench utilizes a hook that is positioned beneath the fence wire but above an outer portion of the mounting clip. The tie wrench is pulled toward the user to twist and secure the outer portion of the clip and the fence wire to the fence post. The other side of the clip is engaged and deformed in a similar manner by a flared finger that protrudes from the blade body of the tool. The large bend in the blade coupled with the small recess adjacent the exterior corner of the device seats the fence wire and produces a fencing tool that is easier and quicker to use compared to prior art devices.

  • Patent number: 7107812
Abstract: A hydraulic rescue tool (20) that utilizes a hydraulic cylinder (22) having a piston rod (24) that is movably disposed within the housing of the cylinder to provide linear driving means for the rescue tool. A cylinder yoke (32) is rotatably attached to the hydraulic cylinder housing and includes a front handle bar (34) for manipulating the tool. Rotation of the cylinder yoke (32) relative to the cylinder (22) prevents injury to an operator in the event that the tool binds and torques. An implement unit (50), which is either a cutter (54) or a spreader (74), is detachably disposed onto the piston rod (24). Pivotal links (36) connect the unit (50) to the cylinder yoke (32), with the unit used for cutting or spreading metal during a rescue. A plurality of quick release pins (72) attach the implement unit (50) to the piston rod (24) and pivotal links, thus providing a rapid release of the implement unit (50) from the piston rod (24) and links (36) for replacement or repair.

  • Patent number: 7104287
Abstract: Wire-untwisting tools and tool bits are disclosed. The wire-untwisting tool comprises a tool body, a movable member, and a spring. The tool body has a first channel extending inwardly from a first surface and a second channel extending inwardly from a second surface. The movable member includes a third channel, and is positioned within the second channel to move therein between an open position, in which the first and third channels are substantially aligned and contiguous, and a gripping position, in which they are not. The spring bears between the tool body and the movable member so and biases the movable member toward the gripping position. A pair of twisted wires inserted into the aligned channels of the tool body and the movable member when the movable member is pushed into the open position will be gripped for untwisting when the movable member moves back to the gripping position.
