  • Patent number: 6135458
Abstract: A static pressure-type generating non-contact gas seal in which a diameter d2 of a second outer circumferential portion (42) of a stationary seal ring (4) in contact with a second O-ring (62) is made smaller than the diameter d1 of a first outer circumferential portion (41) of the stationary seal ring (4) in contact with a first O-ring (62). Because of d1>d2, the pressure of a seal gas (8) led to a first closed space (71) produces a force thrusting the stationary seal ring (4) toward a rotary seal ring (2). A second closed space (72) communicates with an inside region (F) through a back pressure lead-in path (45). The inside gas pressure in the second closed space (72) acts as back pressure on the stationary seal ring (4). The groove width b of static pressure generating grooves (9) formed on the seal end face of the stationary seal ring (4) is decided so that a ratio of the groove width d to the radial width, that is, the seal face width B of the stationary seal ring end face (40), i.e. b/B, is 0.05.

  • Patent number: 6131408
Abstract: A jewel, such as an earring or other pendant, a broach or a finger ring, may be worn alone or with one of a plurality of readily attachable and interchangeable enhancers. In a preferred embodiment, a finger ring generally comprises a band for encircling the finger and a plurality of attachable enhancers. The band appears to be a conventional ring having any desirable setting and a concave inner side for disposition toward the finger. However, a blind bore in the inner side includes a resilient collar. Each enhancer includes a base having a concave inner side for disposition toward the finger and a convex outer side for mating with the inner side of the band at the bore. A stem attached to the outer side of the base has a bulbous distal portion. Upon attachment of enhancer to band, the stem is inserted in the bore and through the collar which deforms and retains the stem. Front and back ornamental portions, attached to the base, are visible in front and back of the band.

  • Patent number: 6131217
Abstract: A method of converting a canopy crib to a standard crib, particularly useful for cribs made of wood. A canopy assembly is removably connected on top of a crib assembly. The canopy assembly has a number of canopy legs that removably fit over and cover respective supports on the crib assembly. The canopy assembly may be removed by pulling the canopy legs off the supports to expose the supports and then separately covering the supports with caps. In a particular embodiment, the canopy crib has a pair of movable side members opposite each other, a pair of angled rods extending vertically through on either side of each one of the movable side members is used to secure a respective pair of caps to their respective supports. Each rod has an end portion which is fastened to an adjacent cap and support to secure the cap, in a rotation free manner, to the support. The same mechanism may also be used to secure the canopy leg to the support.

  • Patent number: 6131867
Abstract: A device for mounting a wide variety of different window dressings is described. The device is intended to use conventional mounting brackets to mount the window dressing without the necessity of providing holes to mount the same in the face of the window molding or frame. The device includes either a corner or linear mounting plate which, respectively, may be used either on the right hand or left hand corner, or horizontally or vertically on the frame. Each plate is U-shaped in cross-section and intended to cover the sides and front of the window frame or molding or L-shaped to cover a portion. In one embodiment the portion covering the face can be laterally adjustable. Another embodiment provides flanges for mounting directly on the wall surrounding the window when no molding is present. The front face of the plate may be provided with a plurality of mutually spaced dimensioned cut-outs.
