Abstract: A transportable living quarters configured for maximum comfort and spaciousness, with a relatively small footprint. In order to enhance the efficiency of the layout of the present invention, a unique sofa/bed arrangement is contemplated, wherein first and second, facing fold-out sofas are provided which are convertible to a single bed, which may be full size or larger. One of the sofas further provides a means to manipulate, via bracketed supports, the sofa back to form a long counter area, which, in the preferred embodiment of the invention, is situated adjacent to the kitchen counter and thereby extends same. The present invention further contemplates a dining/work table which is configured to be stored along the ceiling of the unit, in a relatively hidden capacity, and easily deployed between the first and second sofas when needed, providing a relatively large, stable work surface.

Abstract: In an angularly adjustable, releasably lockable ball joint, the ball has a surface covered with polygonal patterns of spaced apart protuberances, the protuberances define concavities. An actuator tip is provided to penetrate at least one concavity and simultaneously contact the protuberances if the pattern to lock the ball and actuator together, thereby fixing the orientation of shanks attached to the ball and actuator.

Abstract: A modular precast decorative security mailbox column has a base, a midsection, and a top section stacked on one another to define a completed column. The midsection of the column defines an interior compartment and mail deposited through the mail receptacle of the column falls into the interior compartment where it can be retrieved through a rear door in the midsection. The decorative mailbox column is thus economical to install, attractive in appearance, and provides security and privacy against thief and mail tampering.

Abstract: A hook assembly for a vacuum cleaner handle which has a base member formed in the handle with a continuously internally walled extension defining an opening into which a continuously externally walled extension of a hook member can be inserted so that portions of the externally walled extension engage portions of the internally walled extension so that loads applied to the hook are transmitted to the handle through those surfaces. A spring normally biases the surfaces together, but can be manually overcome to rotate the hook for easy removal of the cord. A double hook arrangement is also provided to support a vacuum hose and an electrical cord with similar interengaging surfaces to transmit the load.

Abstract: A torque transmitting device between a shaft (1) and a body (3) having a bore appropriate for the shaft comprises a pin (12) received in mutually complementary and facing recesses in the shaft and the body (1, 3), respectively. The center (O) of the pin (12) is offset outwardly (as an alternative: inwardly) with respect to the circumferential line of the shaft (1) and the bore, respectively, so that an entraining force component does not only extend in tangential direction to the shaft surface and the bore wall, respectively, but has an inclination so that a radial component is created as well through which the position of the shaft (1) is defined without play within the bore of the body (3). This coupling can be provided such that the axis of rotation in operation is the same as the axis of rotation predetermined by manufacture.

Abstract: Motorized adjustment of the configuration of a bed in its support of a user in an automatic "sleep" mode is controlled to establish the bed in state A (FIG. 3) pre-selected for sleeping on the side, or state B (FIG. 2) pre-selected for sleeping on the back, in dependence upon whether the user's shoulder as sensed by a pressure pad (26) is within a recess (27) of the mattress (1). A motor unit (8) adjusts the bed-configuration by inclining bed-base sections (4,5) under commands from a controller (15 FIG. 4) that for the "sleep" mode operates in conjunction with an auxiliary unit (16 FIG. 4) coupled to the pad (26). Delays for changeovers between states A and B and the changeover threshold are set by controls (31, 33 and 34) of the auxiliary unit (16).

Abstract: A casket top interior assembly includes at least one roll and a roll clamp. The casket top interior assembly is used in connection with a casket lid, the casket lid being generally concave and constructed of a rigid material. The at least one roll has a first elongated edge and a second elongated edge, the first elongated edge secured to the casket lid proximate a periphery of the casket lid, the second elongated edge secured to the casket lid by the roll clamp. To this end, the roll clamp includes an anchor surface and a stop member extending angularly from the anchor surface. The anchor surface is directly secured to the casket lid. The stop member engages the at least one roll proximate the second elongated edge in a trap fit, said trap fit in part securing the roll to the casket lid.

Abstract: A display device for displaying a display object includes a mounting formation for holding the display device in place, an attachment formation for attaching a display object to the display device, and a connecting member linking the mounting formation and the attachment formation. The mounting formation is configured such that it is capable of locking securely to a container or base structures. The connecting member holds the attachment formation at a position remote from the mounting formation. The attachment formation includes a control zone, and the control zone includes an entrance into which an attachment member on the display object may be inserted. The control zone further includes at least one stop formation projecting traversely across the control zone such that a part of the display object attachment member may abut against the stop formation to inhibit withdrawal of the display object attachment member through the control zone entrance.

Abstract: A spring counterbalanced folding wall bed having a vertically disposed shell including side walls spaced from each other and a bed frame pivotally mounted to the shell for movement between an open position and a closed position. In the open position the bed frame is substantially horizontal; in the closed position the bed frame is substantially vertical and between the side walls. A spring is mounted between a head end of the bed frame and one of the side walls and is biased to retain the bed in the closed position. One end of the spring is secured to the head end by a first pivotal connection and the other end of the spring is secured to the side wall by a second pivotal connection. At least one of the first and second pivotal connections are movable so that the length of the spring can be adjusted, whereby the spring force can be adjusted.

Abstract: The clamping device serves for the releasable connection of two profile pieces, it being possible for an insert core (1) to be introduced and fixed in a first of the profile pieces, in which insert core an axially movable slide (7) bears two pivotable clamping elements (11) each with a clamping hook (13; 14) which can be introduced at least partially into an opening of a second profile piece (15) in order to exert a clamping pressure on that section of the second profile piece (15) which partially closes off the opening. The insert core (1) has eccentric means (5) in order to displace the slide (7) axially. Two oblique surfaces (43) are provided in the insert core (1) in order to displace the clamping element transversely during its axial displacement. In addition to the clamping hook (13; 14), the clamping element (11) comprises a strip-like part with a bent-over strip end designed as hinge hook (34).

Abstract: A nap-sac carrying pouch and child sleeping system including a base blanket in a generally rectangular configuration having a length and a width. A cover blanket is in a generally rectangular configuration and has a length and width essentially equal to that of the base blanket. A carrying pouch is formed of two rectangular sections. One of the rectangular sections is coextensive with the upper central section of the base blanket. The carrying pouch is adapted to receive the base and cover blankets when folded in equal sections along its length and is adapted to receive the base blanket and cover blanket when its lateral sides are folded over. The two rectangular sections of the carrying pouch are coupled along a bottom edge and two parallel side edges. An open top edge receives the folded base blanket and cover blanket. The bottom edge and side edge of the carrying pouch are coupled to a central extent of the upper edge of the base blanket.

Abstract: In a marine fender with a structure for fixing a pad to a fender frame, the pad has at least one concavity formed in a front surface thereof, and a pad hole piercing the pad from a bottom of the concavity. A bolt with a head is inserted from a front side of the pad through the pad and fender holes, and a nut is disposed at a rear side of the fender frame to engage the bolt to thereby fix the pad to the fender frame. A washer is interposed between the head of the bolt and the bottom of the concavity. In case the bolt is attached to the fender frame, the nut is disposed in the concavity of the pad to engage the bolt, and the washer is interposed between the nut and the bottom of the concavity. In either case, the washer is disposed in the concavity such that a rim of the washer engages an inner periphery of the concavity to prevent rotation with each other. The head of the bolt or nut is joined to the washer.

Abstract: A snap-fastenable coupling for a fluid duct, in particular for a motor vehicle, the coupling comprising a cylindrical bushing secured to one end of a duct for coupling to a tubular endpiece which is designed to be inserted into the bushing and which has a peripheral projection in the vicinity of its free end, and a cylindrical locking member fitted around the bushing and designed to co-operate with a portion of the bushing and with the peripheral projection on the endpiece to hold the endpiece engaged in the bushing, wherein the locking member has at least one longitudinal slot and is formed with two side tabs organized on respective opposite sides of said slot to enable the locking member to be opened for disconnection of the duct from the endpiece by applying thrust in two opposite directions on the tabs. The invention applies in particular to circuits for fluids under relatively high pressure in motor vehicles.

Abstract: A casket shell made of a corrugated paperboard. The shell is made of a triple-ply inner layer and a single-ply outer layer laminated over the inner layer. The corrugation in the side members of both layers are aligned vertically for maximum vertical tensile strength. The corrugation in the vertical corners in the inner layer are oriented horizontally for maximum stiffness and shape retention properties. The casket shell has a uniform thickness throughout the sides, ends and bottom thereof, and square corners to simulate the appearance of a wood structure. Each end has a vertical median slot therein for inserting the edges of a decorative covering fabric material. Both sides are prestressed to maintain a straight alignment.

The label holder may be a co-extrusion of an opaque body panel and a transparent cover resiliently connected along their lower edges to define a label-receiving pocket therebetween. An upwardly and rearwardly extending leg member is integral with the rear of the body panel and underlies and extends behind the channel member. A lower finger is also carried by the rear of the body panel and is biasingly engaged with the upper surface of the lower flange of the channel member. An upper finger is provided on the upper edge of the body panel and is biasingly engaged with the lower surface of the upper flange of the channel member.

Abstract: This invention relates in general to a dual-function bed used as a chair equipped with a patient toilet. The bed is designed to be selectively used as a chair by controlling the folding angle of it with the operation of a reduction motor. Moreover, as attached equipment, the toilet having the capabilities of cleaning itself and discharging excrement, gives great convenience to a patient. Subsequently, this invention allows a disabled and non-ambulatory patient to relieve oneself and rest by simply operating a control unit without nurse.
