Abstract: A cover for a mattress usable when the mattress is moved. The cover covers the periphery and flap portions cover a portion of both sides of the mattress. A plurality of peripherally spaced handle straps are riveted to the peripheral portion and the flap portions of the cover and are graspable to move the mattress. In one embodiment, a loop is formed on the inner end of each strap and an elastic cord passes through the loops and its ends secured together to hold the cover on the mattress. In a second embodiment, the cord passes through a hem formed in the inner end of the flap and there are no loops on the straps.

Abstract: An adjustable ring is provided which consists of pivotally linked sections. One section is made of two telescopically engaged parts. One of these parts includes holes. The other part includes an axially displaceable element mounted on a pivotal segment of a decorative structure of the ring for engaging in the holes.

Abstract: A bed frame for accommodating a decorative piece is described, the bed frame comprising a first side rail, a second side rail opposite the first rail, at least one cross arm extending from the first rail to the second rail, and at least one upright member in communication with the cross arm, whereby, the bed frame can accommodate variously sized headboards and footboards on the cross arm member.

Abstract: A unitized seal assembly (10) for a rotary shaft (16) having a main section (20) rotatably supported in a housing (14) and a telescopic end (22) axially extendable relative to the main section (20). The seal assembly (10) comprises a generally rigid annular carrier body (28) supporting a flexible annular sealing member (36) and a inner wear sleeve (44) in running engagement with the sealing member (36). The inner wear sleeve (44) includes an annular mounting skirt (54) which is attached to one end of a pleated elastomeric boot (58). The other end of the boot (58) is attached to the telescopic end (22) of the rotating shaft (16). The boot (58) accommodates extension and retraction of the telescopic end (22) of the shaft (16) as it reciprocates during rotation. Therefore, as the shaft (16) rotates during operation, the boot (58) together with the wear sleeve (44) rotate relative to the sealing member (36) and the outer carrier body (28).

Abstract: A therapeutic bedding pad having a body portion and two laterally spaced elongated portions. The body portion is preferably disposed to overly a bedding mattress and includes a head end and a foot end. The two elongated portions are symmetrically disposed laterally opposite the body portion and are substantially the same length as the body portion. The portions further define curved surfaces that are elevated several inches above the surface of the body portion to provide support for a user.

Abstract: An ornamentation part and an ornament positioning part are fabricated as a unit to provide a body ornament to be received by and positioned upon a body part; particularly a breast nipple. The positioning part includes a pair of concave spaced arms which form therebetween a body part receiving space of a size and configuration to receive and embrace a body part. The ornamentation part may be an enclosed figure such as a multi-point star, leaf, heart, butterfly, or the like. Further decorations such as feathers, flowers, jewelry, chain links, etc. may be carried by the body ornament as well as loops upon which other decorations may be disposed or from which other decorations may be carried.

Abstract: A drive shaft assembly for a portable lathe includes a first hollow shaft and a second shaft axially aligned with and telescopingly received in the first shaft, for permitting an effective length of the drive shaft to be altered within a limited range. The first and second shafts are also rotatable relative to each other. Opposite ends of the first and second shafts have uncovered joints including mounting flanges attached thereto, and a locking device is provided to lock both first and second shafts relative to each other after they have been adjusted to a desired axial and rotational orientation.

Abstract: A device for use in providing or receiving massage therapy at home or in the office comprises a portable face rest attached to a support for positioning the device on a supporting surface, such as a bed, table or floor. The face rest may be adjustable relative to the support to selectively adjust the face rest to accommodate individual users. The face rest may be attached to the support in a manner which allows the face rest to be adjusted at an angle to the support. The device may also include arm rests for optionally supporting the massage recipient's arms during massage therapy.

Abstract: The plaque has an indicia carrying surface. The container includes a box-like enclosure with an openable end and front surface having an opening. The plaque is received through the end of the enclosure such that the indicia carrying surface of the plaque aligns with the opening. A cover is hingeably mounted on the surface of the enclosure. The cover has window. A card, with indicia corresponding to the indicia on the plaque surface, is removeably mounted on the interior surface of the cover so as to be visible through the window. The rear surface of the plaque has a pocket to retain the card after the plaque and card are removed from the enclosure. A stand is provided to maintain the plaque in an upright position.

Abstract: A system for protecting a lift sling from contamination, wherein the sling is of the type having a bifurcated seat portion defined by a pair of sling extremities which converge at a junction area. The system comprises a pair of sleeves, configured and dimensioned to fit and be removably mounted on the pair of sling extremities, respectively. The pair of sleeves each have an extension portion. The extension portions are configured and dimensioned to extend to, and interface with each other at, the junction area of the sling. Each of the sleeves are made of at least one layer of material which substantially repels bodily fluids. Finally, a mechanism is provided for securing the pair of sleeves to the pair of sling extremities.

Abstract: A connection between the spindle head of a gear-type or universal joint spindle and the neck of a roll includes wear plates are placed between locating surfaces on the spindle head and on the roll neck so as to primarily produce a positive engagement. The spindle head is provided with a clamping device for applying pressure to the wear plates and for clamping the spindle head on the roll neck for constructing the positively engaging connection as a play-free connection.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an elastomeric coupling for transmitting torque between two shafts approximately aligned on a shaft axis, the coupling comprising a composite arcuately extending member including a shoe having a first portion and a second portion extending from the first portion and adapted to be connected to one of the shafts, and an elastomeric center element having, in a radial plane extending from and along the shaft axis, an inwardly opening generally U-shaped cross-section defined by two axially spaced radially extending leg portions respectively including an inner part bonded to the first portion of the shoe, and an outer part, and an axially extending bridge portion connected to the outer parts and including a weakened area which is located remotely from the shaft axis and which facilitates tearing of the bridge portion at the area in response to excessive transmission of force as compared to tearing of the bridge portion at other areas.

Adjacent each aperture is a reference symbol identifying the source of connection of the individual wire. Notation and recordation of the source and/or destination of each wire adjacent these reference symbols permit later users to easily identify the source of connection of an individual wire. A wire loom having a loom body of a multi-sided polygon. Color-coding areas of the loom body also aids in identification of wires held by the wire loom. A pair of wire looms is provided to receive individual wires into similarly referenced apertures for ease of identification of individual wires within the pair of looms when the looms are positioned remote from each other.

Abstract: A flexible entry boot assembly provides a fluid-tight fitting between a wall of a fluid containment region and a conduit passing through the wall. The flexible entry boot assembly comprises a seal member disposed within the containment region. A securing plate, disposed within the containment region, is releasably mounted to the seal member. A hollow support sleeve, integral with the seal member, extends axially into the containment region. The support sleeve has an outer surface and an inner, conduit receiving surface, and further has a degree of flexibility sufficient to allow for the insertion of the conduit at angles equal to or other than an angle normal to the fluid containment wall while maintaining a fluid-tight environment. The flexible boot assembly further comprises a mechanism for releasably attaching the hollow support sleeve to the conduit. A flexible, corrosion resistant sealing ring member is disposed outside the containment region.

Abstract: An ornament comprises a decorative element and a hook-and-loop-type fastener for removably attaching the decorative element to a wearer's body. A first portion of the hook-and-loop-type fastener has fastening elements extending from one side thereof and an adhesive element is attached to another side. A release paper covers the adhesive element. A second portion of the hook-and-loop-type fastener has fastening elements extending from one side thereof and an adhesive element is attached to another side. The adhesive element on the second portion of the hook-and-loop-type fastener is removably attachable to a rear portion of the decorative element. Upon removal of the release paper, the adhesive surface of the first portion of the hook-and-loop-type fastener is attachable to a wearer's body. After attaching the first portion to the wearer's body, the second portion of the hook-and-loop-type fastener is engageable with the first portion to removably engage the decorative element with the wearer's body.

Abstract: A device for joining the parted ends of a rope member is provided. The device comprises blocks that are epoxied to the ends of the rope member and a threaded sleeve to thread onto one of the blocks. The invention also provides a method of joining the parted ends of a rope member including the steps of epoxying a block to each end to be joined to form a splice and coupling a threaded sleeve to one of the blocks while securing the other block within the sleeve.

Abstract: A bed assembly has a frame with at least one articulated frame section and a drive system for moving the articulated frame section. The drive system includes a first electrical circuit and a remote control unit that sends command signals to the first electrical circuit. The bed further includes a mattress having at least one air bladder and a controller including a compressor fluidly coupled to the at least one air bladder. The controller includes a second electrical circuit that couples to the first electric circuit so that at least one of the command signals received from the remote control unit is communicated to the second electrical circuit via the first electrical circuit.

Abstract: A lighted messaging system that is attachable to a vehicular trailer hitching assembly and can provide suitable protection for the open hitch after the ball is removed. This system utilizes all of the various components of a conventional trailer hitch after the ball joint element is removed therefrom and serves not only to provide an attractive and useful means of communication or advertisement and the like, but also to cover up exposed parts of the trailer hitch after the ball joint element is actually removed. Trailer hitches that use the so-called "draw-tight" system are preferred. Messages in the form of writing or drawings and can encompass any desired communication. Since the messaging system employs a light system, they can be illuminated for better visibility during all light conditions.

Abstract: A multilayer infant support and reclining pillow device for laying, propping, sitting and supporting infants and toddlers having a top layer, bottom layer and an insert which are able to be attached and secured to each other. The multilayer infant support and reclining pillow device allows for the placement of an infant or toddler within an inside portion in order to help the infant to develop his or her sitting posture. The multilayer infant support and reclining pillow device also assembles in such a form as to provide an angled base onto which an infant may be laid face up and thereby be assured of a safe breathing posture.

Abstract: A portable, inflatable, massage support apparatus. In one embodiment, the present invention is comprised of an inflatable body supporting structure having a top surface and a bottom surface. The top surface and the bottom surface define an enclosure therebetween when the inflatable body supporting structure is inflated. In the present invention, the inflatable body supporting structure has a head end and a foot end. Additionally, in the present invention, the inflatable body supporting structure has massage facilitating features formed into the inflatable body supporting structure. The massage facilitating features are adapted to enhance the massaging of a person when the person is disposed on the inflatable body supporting structure.
