Abstract: A method for restoring a pointer position within an application in response to a user switching between applications. The method includes one or more computer processors identifying a set of applications executing on a computing device of a user. The method further includes determining a series of pointer positions within a graphical user interface (GUI) of a first application of the set of executing applications in response to the user interfacing with the first application. The method further includes determining that the user pauses interfacing with a second application and resumes accessing the first application. The method further includes determining a pointer position from among the series of pointer positions respectively associated with the GUI of the first application. The method further includes responding to determining that the user resumes accessing the first application by positioning the pointer within the GUI of the first application at the determined pointer position.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface of a message application, including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a message-input area, at least one avatar corresponding to a first other user included in the messaging session, and an application affordance. The device detects an input on the touch sensitive surface. In accordance with a determination that the input corresponds to selection of the at least one avatar displayed in the messaging user interface, the device displays a menu that contains a plurality of activatable menu items associated with the at least one avatar overlaid on the messaging user interface. In accordance with a determination that the input corresponds to selection of the application affordance, the device displays a plurality of application launch icons for a plurality of corresponding applications within the messaging user interface.

Abstract: A method for providing XR content includes receiving a first user input signal for selecting one or more items, providing first XR content including an avatar wearing the selected one or more items in accordance with the first user input signal, displaying the first XR content, receiving a second user input signal for requesting a change of styling of at least one item of the one or more items, providing second XR content including an avatar wearing the selected one or more items including an item of which styling has been changed in accordance with the second user input signal and displaying the second XR content.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to determining a similarity of components of a current user interface (UI) to new UI components for use in automatically generating a new UI. A computer system may receive information specifying a current UI including a particular current UI component and information specifying a plurality of new UI components for a new UI. The computer system may then identify characteristics of the particular current UI component. Based on these identified characteristics, the computer system may score ones of the plurality of new UI components, where the scoring is performed to determine a similarity to the particular current UI component. The computer system may then select, based on the scores, a particular new UI component from the plurality of new UI components for use, in the new UI, for the particular current UI component. Such techniques may advantageously improve user experience by automatically providing up-to-date user interfaces.

Abstract: Techniques are described for preserving desktop state between login sessions in desktop computing environments. During an active login session of a desktop by a user, the system intercepts all requests to open a file and records the requested file paths. The information can be recorded locally or at a remote location, such as a server accessed over a network connection. Before the login session is terminated, the system determines all open windows and captures a screenshot of each window that is open on the desktop at the time of terminating the login session. The location of each window is also determined and recorded along with the screenshots before the session is terminated. When the user starts a new active login session at a later time, the state of the desktop is restored using the recorded file paths, screenshots and window locations.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to navigating, viewing, and sharing activity and workout data and interacting with workout and/or activity applications. In some examples, scrolling of activity data is based on the content being displayed. In some examples, friends' activity data may be viewed. In some examples, a notification and workout data for a friend's completed workout is received and displayed. In some example, the activity data received from friends is viewed and managed. In some examples, workout data for a multi-segment workout is displayed in a three-dimensional stack on a map. In some examples, a workout application operates in a limited mode until a touch input is received with a characteristic intensity that is greater than a threshold intensity.

Abstract: While an electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface is in a locked, passcode-protected state, the device displays a lock screen user interface on the display. The lock screen user interface includes a plurality of restricted application launch icons, each restricted application launch icon corresponding to an application. The device also detects user input to activate a respective restricted application launch icon; and, in response to detecting the user input to activate the respective restricted application launch icon, starts a restricted session for a respective application that corresponds to the respective restricted application launch icon, wherein the respective application is configured to generate one or more content items while in the restricted session, and maintains the device in the locked, passcode-protected state for applications in the device other than the respective application.

Abstract: Methods and systems of navigating within a virtual environment are described. In an example, a processor may generate a portal that includes a set of portal boundaries. The processor may display the portal within a first scene of the virtual environment being displayed on a device. The processor may display a second scene of the virtual environment within the portal boundaries. The processor may receive sensor data indicating a movement of a motion controller. The processor may reposition the portal and the second scene in the first scene based on the sensor data, wherein the first scene remains stationary on the device during the reposition of the portal and the second scene. The processor may translate a location of the portal within the first scene to move the portal towards a user of the device until the second scene replaces the first scene being displayed on the device.

Abstract: A server and method for converting a textual data prompt embedded within a graphical user interface (GUI) to a widget. Parameters of a textual data prompt, which was previously received from a first computing device, are compared to additional parameters associated with widget. A first match and a second match between the parameters and the additional parameters associated with a first widget and a second widget, respectively, of the widgets is identified. In response to determining that a percentage of the first match exceeds a confidence threshold and a percentage of the second match fails to exceed the confidence threshold, the first widget embedded within the GUI on a second computing device is generated. A first response to the textual data prompt by a user associated with the second computing device is received. The first response is displayed as textual data embedded within the GUI of the first computing device.

After receiving, at the web browser application, a user request for receiving updated content of the webpage, the device generates a webpage update summary widget and displays the webpage update summary widget on the screen. Abstract: Determining interest in promotional content to be displayed at a mobile communication device is described. The promotional content, including a first portion that is visible and a second portion that is hidden in a first state, may be received. The first and second portions are each selectable only when visible. A promotional display that includes the promotional content in the first state is generated. Upon receipt of a first input from the user in relation to the first portion, the promotional content may be transitioned from the first state to a second state such the first portion becomes hidden and the second portion becomes visible. Upon failing to receive a second input from the user in relation to the second portion, the promotional content may be transitioned from the second state to the first state. Upon receipt of the second input, an interest in the promotional content may be indicated.

Abstract: Among other things, embodiments of the present disclosure improve the functionality of electronic messaging software and systems by providing a customized display of avatars corresponding to users exchanging electronic communications, such as short message service (SMS) or multimedia service (MMS) texts and emails. The appearance of the displayed avatars may be dynamically altered based on the actions taken by the users, as well as based on the content of the messages between the users or information from other sources.

Abstract: Techniques are described for utilizing drawing guides in an electronic canvas. The techniques may include detecting a first input at an edge of an artboard associated with the electronic canvas, triggering, responsive to the detected first input, a plurality of selectable indicators to enable configuration of a drawing guide for providing an interactive reference for placing content in the artboard, detecting a second input pertaining to at least one of the plurality of selectable indicators, determining a location in the artboard corresponding to the distance from the edge of the artboard, and triggering the at least one drawing guide for display in the artboard at the determined location.

Abstract: This application relates to features for a mobile device that allow the mobile device to assign utility values to applications and thereafter suggest applications for a user to execute. The suggested application can be derived from a list of applications that have been assigned a utility by software in the mobile device. The utility assignment of the individual applications from the list of applications can be performed based on the occurrence of an event, an environmental change, or a period of frequent application usage. A feedback mechanism is provided in some embodiments for more accurately assigning a utility to particular applications. The feedback mechanism can track what a user does during a period of suggestion for certain applications and thereafter modify the utility of applications based on what applications a user selects during the period of suggestion.

Abstract: Described herein is a system in which multiple display devices may be located remotely throughout a facility. The system receives location information for a number of users within the facility. The system is able to identify a set of users collocated with a particular display device and generate a set of configuration settings specific to that set of users. Information provided by the system, either in response to an information request or automatically, may be formatted and/or filtered according to the generated set of configuration settings. In some embodiments, the set of configuration settings may be compiled from each of the users in the set of users based on priority.
