    Abstract: A thrust piston pump for an active substance dispenser has two equiaxial, position-rigid, interconnected pistons running in the same direction, namely a pump piston passing in and out of an otherwise closed pump chamber and a larger presuction pistion located downstream thereof, in whose associated pressure chamber is located the pump chamber end opened by the passing out of the pump piston. This leads to a very accurate dosing of the discharged active substance quantity, accompanied by a simple construction and high operational reliability.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a two stage fuel pump which is particularly suited for piston aircraft engines. The fuel pump includes a housing having a fuel inlet and a fuel outlet where the fuel inlet is open to a cylindrical swirl chamber formed in the housing. The first pump stage has its inlet open to the inlet chamber and its outlet open to an intermediate chamber formed in the housing. The second pump stage has its inlet open to the intermediate chamber while its outlet is fluidly connected through a fuel control valve to the fuel outlet. A pressure responsive valve is fluidly connected between the intermediate chamber and inlet chamber and recirculates fuel from the intermediate chamber and to the inlet chamber whenever the pressure in the intermediate chamber exceeds a predetermined pressure.

    Abstract: As a rotary pump, which is typically provided on an automobile, is provided with two alternative sources of motive power, typically including a driving connection to the automotive engine, and driving connection to an electric motor. These driving connections may be unidirectionally clutched in such a manner as to cause the electric motor to drive the rotary pump only when the pump is to be driven but the automotive engine is not operating up to a predetermined speed. Typically, the rotary pump is of the eccentrically mounted rotor type having radially outwardly protruding spring-loaded pistons effectively in contact with a camming ring. A slider is shown provided between the housing and the ring for effectively varying the magnitude of eccentricity of the rotor and thus for effectively smoothly varying the capacity of the pump.

Between the gas supply (7) and the pump space (6) a substantially annular gas supply chamber (9) is present, which is bounded by the elements (1 and 2) and which is relatively wide near the gas supply (7) but narrows downstream towards the pumpspace (6). The helical groove (5) extends into the annular gas supply chamber (9).

    Abstract: A pump is disclosed for pumping a volatile fluid having a given vapor pressure. The pump of this invention comprises a pump housing comprising an inlet for introducing the liquid at a relatively low static pressure level into the pump housing and an outlet for discharging the liquid from the pump housing at a relatively high static pressure level. A fluid path extends from the inlet to the outlet. A booster stage impeller is rotatively mounted for drawing the fluid through the inlet and for pumping the fluid along the fluid path with an increased kinetic pressure. A diffuser is affixedly disposed within the pump housing to intercept the fluid directed along the fluid path by the booster stage impeller for converting the kinetic pressure imparted to the fluid into increased static pressure.

    Abstract: A motor-driven regenerative type fuel pump is provided with an overflow mechanism disposed adjacent to a discharge pipe. The overflow mechanism includes a plug hole in a pump housing and a plug member disposed in the plug hole. The pump housing is formed with an axially inclined recess circumferentially extending around the plug member and communciated with an axial groove formed in the plug member. The rate of overflow of fuel and thus the upper limit of the pump discharge can be adjusted by rotating the plug member relative to the plug hole to compensate for any insufficiency of pressure regulating ability of a pressure regulator in an engine fuel injection system. The overflow mechanism further includes an adjustment-locking member attached to the pump housing and the plug member after the overflow-adjustment by the manufacture has been completed.

The pipe joint has a conical outer surface capable of meeting with the ellliptical aperture wall defining the elliptical aperture in the cylindrical side wall without leaving any gap between them. The pipe joint is coupled to the elliptical aperture wall of the cylindrical side wall by resistance welding.

    Abstract: An air compressor having a piston driven via a crankshaft from an input shaft by means of a multi-plate clutch which is normally held in engaged condition by a spring device. The clutch and spring device are contained within a housing which includes a retainer placed, after the spring device has been pre-loaded to a desired extent, in a position determined by said pre-loading and secured in that position to maintain the spring device in pre-loaded state. The crankshaft is housed within a crankcase and passages interconnect the interiors of the crankcase and clutch housing, with the casing ends of the passages at a higher level than a predetermined permissible oil level for the crankcase. This permits crankcase pressure during operation to expel oil from the crankcase along the passage into the clutch casing, while limiting the height to which oil may accumulate in the crank case when the piston is stationary.
