  • Patent number: 4634353
Abstract: In a pump valve head for a high-pressure pump having at least three pistons, the axial support of the parts surrounding the inlet valve in the intake connection is hydrostatically enhanced. For this purpose, a fluid flow path is provided between the interior space of the intake connection adjacent the end of the side thereof which faces away from the pump cylinder space, said flow path communicating with an intermediate space between a terminal portion of the inlet valve and a closure member affixed to the intake connection, and a region downstream of the pressure valves of the pump discharge connection. This fluid flow path includes a port in a bushing surrounding the pressure valve as well as annular gaps on the outside periphery of a bushing surrounding the pressure valve, a manifold bushing surrounding a pump plunger and a bushing surrounding the inlet valve.

  • Patent number: 4631010
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrostatic control device for steering unit device which includes a metering motor and a flat slide directional valve. Slide surfaces of the directional valve are formed by the abutting end faces of an outer housing and a motor housing and between the two slide surfaces there is formed a high pressure zone. Between two end faces of the outer housing and the motor housing opposite thereto is an intermediate pressure zone of larger area which is connected between a first throttle gap associated with the high pressure zone and a second throttle gap leading to the low pressure zone. With the aid of the high pressure zone and the intermediate pressure zone equilibrium can be obtained while incurring only a minimum amount of friction.

  • Patent number: 4629402
Abstract: An improved submersible pump valve assembly, actuated by the reciprocating movement of a sucker rod extended from surface equipment to a downhole traveling valve located in a tubing string, the valve assembly comprising a rotatable fluid port assembly supported in a barrel assembly which has a beveled seating surface with fluid ports therethrough. A reciprocatable actuator member having a screw rod portion coacts with a gear bore of the fluid port assembly to open the fluid ports thereof during the downstroke movement of the actuator member and to close the fluid ports during the upstroke movement. Also, the actuator member opens and closes the fluid ports of the barrel assembly alternately during its downstroke and upstroke positions, respectively. A middle rod connector, which connects the actuator to the sucker rod, has multiple fluid jetting ports which serve to agitate particulates in the reservoir liquids being pumped.

  • Patent number: 4621981
Abstract: A pump assembly having an impeller for pumping a liquid from an inlet to an outlet, said impeller being driven by a motor, and mechanical seal means comprising a pump seal and a motor seal with a seal leakage chamber therebetween, and ejector means for inducing flow of liquid from the seal chamber so that it does not leak across the faces of the seal rings of the motor seal and into the motor housing where it would damage the motor. The ejector means has a nozzle driven by pump liquid and a suction chamber connected to the mechanical seal leakage chamber. By preventing liquid from the seal chamber from leaking across the faces of the motor seal into the motor housing, the ejector means maintains the seal leakage chamber at or near the vapor pressure of the pumped fluid.

  • Patent number: 4619588
Abstract: One set of circumferentially juxtaposed axial surfaces of the motor magnets of a wet motor gerotor pump are separated circumferentially by a tunnel device having a central bridge portion radially just clearing the rotating armature and bounded by a pair of leg portions extending radially outwards from the central bridge portion to establish a substantially laminar flow path for the fuel. The tunnel device further spaces the armature relative to the gerotor pump cavity. A vent valve is provided in the outlet housing of the pump. A spring biases a ball valve against an imperfect seat encircling the inlet passage to provide a permanent vent bypass passage therebetween. The spring seats the ball valve against the imperfect seat to permit fuel vapors to vent through the vent outlet passage until liquid reaches the ball valve. The liquid then overcomes the bias of the spring to seat the ball against an outlet seat encircling the outlet passage to close the same.

  • Patent number: 4614483
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for sealing in the zone of contact between the mouths of alternately charging and discharging delivery cylinders of a concrete pump and a swinging pipe that is alternately movable to alignment in front of the cylinder that is discharging at the time. It comprises an annular seal body so supported at the mouth zone of the delivery cylinder as to be slidable between a sealing position projecting into the rear end portion of the swinging pipe and a withdrawn releasing position in which it is spaced from the swinging pipe so as not to interfere with its swinging. The seal body is maintained in its withdrawn position whenever the swinging pipe is moving, thus substantially avoiding abrasion.
