  • Patent number: 9488187
Abstract: A sealing system for process gas leakage from a turbomachine casing is provided. The sealing system may include a seal assembly housing coupled to or integral with the turbomachine casing. The seal assembly housing defines a bore configured to receive a rotary shaft and a sealing assembly. The sealing assembly includes a plurality of carbon rings mounted circumferentially about the rotary shaft. The plurality of carbon rings may include an inboard carbon ring configured to prevent flow of a separation gas inboard of the barrier seal, an outboard carbon ring configured to prevent flow of contaminates into the seal assembly housing, and an intermediate carbon ring interposed between the inboard carbon ring and outboard carbon ring. A pressure differential is maintained across the inboard carbon ring, such that the separation gas is prevented from flowing inboard across the inboard carbon ring by a residual portion of a seal gas.

  • Patent number: 9464468
Abstract: A locking mechanism includes a hooking component, an engagement structure, and an actuation component. The hooking component is disposed in a casing of a portable electronic apparatus. The engagement structure and the actuation component are disposed in another casing of the portable electronic apparatus. The actuation component is slidable relatively to the casing and includes a magnetic portion. When the magnetic portion approaches a hooking part of the hooking component, the hooking part is rotated out of the casing by a magnetic effect to hook the engagement structure; when the actuation component slides such that the magnetic portion is moved away from the hooking part, because a force generated by the magnetic effect to the hooking part decreases, a resilient part of the hooking component can drive the hooking part to disengaged from the engagement structure to rotate into the casing.

  • Patent number: 9441402
Abstract: A power actuator is provided for a door latch. A transfer lever within the housing is selectively coupled to a motor-driven worm gear via a lost motion connector. Engaging the motor moves the transfer lever between a locked and an unlocked position, actuating an output lever mounted to a spline on the transfer lever. The worm gear returns to a neutral position when the motor is disengaged, leaving the transfer lever in either the locked or unlocked positions. Manually moving the output lever causes the transfer lever to move between its locked and unlocked positions without back-driving the worm gear. A toggle mechanism prevents the transfer lever from accidentally moving or only moving partially between the locked and unlocked positions.

  • Patent number: 9394730
Abstract: A safety lock is disclosed and comprises a body, a bolt and a handle. The body is securable to one member. The bolt is mounted to the body for reciprocation between projecting and retracted positions. In the projecting position, a bolt end portion protrudes beyond the body and is engageable in another member, to prevent relative movement of the members. In the retracted position, the end portion is incapable of engagement in the other member, to permit said relative movement. The handle is releasably engageable to the bolt. The handle, body and bolt are adapted such that when the handle is engaged to the bolt, the handle permits manual reciprocation of the bolt, and are further adapted such that when the handle is disengaged from the bolt and the bolt end portion is inaccessible for manual manipulation, the bolt is inaccessible for said manual reciprocation.

  • Patent number: 9388613
Abstract: A self-contained latch module in combination with a pusher and catch (collectively “latch assembly”) allows for the locking of two doors with a single lock. The latch module contains two spring-loaded bolts, one active and one passive. Pushing the active bolt into the latch housing, the passive bolt extends out of the opposite side of the latch housing. Pushing onto the passive bolt in the direction of the latch housing while the active bolt is depressed will allow the passive bolt to retract into the housing without affecting the active bolt on the opposite side. This allows a user to slam closed the associated doors in any order. The self-latching nature of this latch assembly allows for the automatic latching of the cabinet doors without having to manually latch one of the doors before locking the other.

  • Patent number: 9322198
Abstract: A latch assembly includes a door latch member and a release member. The door latch member pivots between a latched position and an unlatched position. The release member is movably coupled to the door latch member to move the door latch member from the latched position to the unlatched position. An inertia activated lock-out mechanism includes a locking member and a counterweight. The locking member moves between a locking position that prevents movement of the door latch member from the latched position to the unlatched position, and a non-interfering position in which the door latch member operates between the latched position and the unlatched position.
