Abstract: The present invention relates to solid dispersions including, but not limited to, co-processed carbohydrates with different solubilities and concentrations, which have a microcrystalline plate structure. The solid dispersions, excipient systems and formulations of the present invention are highly compactable and durable and when compressed into solid dosage forms demonstrate uniform densification, low friability at low pressures, and and/or relatively constant low disintegration times at various hardnesses. The solid dosage forms of the present invention demonstrate superior organoleptics, disintegration, and/or robustness.

Abstract: Disclosed is a water-in-oil-type skin-whitening cosmetic, which has a moist feel without stickiness when used and has good emulsion stability over time even when accommodated in a glass container or a metal container. The water-in-oil-type skin-whitening cosmetic is characterized in that it contains an alkoxysalicylic acid or a salt thereof, an organic modified clay mineral, and a liquid fatty acid. Abstract: A method for producing a patch comprising a support layer and an adhesive agent layer arranged on at least one surface of the support layer, the method comprising: step A) obtaining an adhesive agent layer composition comprising free ropinirole in an amount which results in a content of 5 to 13.2% by mass in an obtained adhesive agent layer; step B) heating the adhesive agent layer composition at a temperature in a range from 50 to 76° C. for 5 minutes to 24 hours; and step C) cooling the heated adhesive agent layer composition to normal temperature at an average rate of temperature drop of 1 to 20° C./hour, thereby obtaining the adhesive agent layer comprising the free ropinirole at a supersaturated concentration in a dissolved form.
Abstract: Nanoemulsions comprising an aqueous phase and a lipid phase, having a micelle size in the range from about 20 to about 900 nm and comprising melatonin as an active agent, are provided. The aqueous phase of such a nanoemulsion comprises a base, the lipid phase comprises one or more polyoxyethylene sorbitan esters, and the aqueous phase or the lipid phase, or both, further comprise ascorbyl palmitate. In addition, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or foodstuffs comprising the nanoemulsions described herein and methods for making nanoemulsions described herein are also provided.
Abstract: The mixture of potassium or certain amine salts of glyphosate and dicamba allows the preparation of high-strength liquid compositions containing greater than 300 gae/L of total active ingredient loading if the pH is adjusted between about 6.0 and about 8.0. Compositions are particularly well-suited for herbicidal applications on crops that are resistant or tolerant to both glyphosate and dicamba.

Abstract: Disclosed are an artificial dura mater and manufacturing method thereof. The artificial dura mater includes electrospun layers prepared by electrostatic spinning, at least one of which is a hydrophobic electrospun layer. Further, above the hydrophobic electrospun layer, there can be at least one hydrophilic electrospun layer. A transition layer can be further included between the hydrophobic and the hydrophilic electrospun layers. Additionally, cytokines and/or medicines can be affixed to either or both of the hydrophobic and the hydrophilic electrospun layers, by way of bio-printing. The disclosed artificial dura mater shows good biocompatibility, enhances dural tissue regeneration, achieves excellent repairing effects, prevents adhesion, allows complete absorption, has good mechanical properties, ensures low infection rates, and can be loaded with therapeutic agents.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for treating thyroid-related medical conditions. Many thyroid-related medical conditions exist that go undiagnosed and untreated. These conditions may be prevented and treated with reduced folates and vitamin B12. Administration of reduced folates and vitamin B12 will prevent or treat cerebrospinal folate deficiency, which is linked to thyroid-related medical conditions. Administration of reduced folates and vitamin B12 will also prevent or treat conditions associated with masked megaloblastic anemia and hypothyroidism, and other conditions brought upon through improper thyroid function. Additionally, it is commonplace to treat many thyroid conditions with anti-thyroid drugs or thyroid stimulating drugs. This practice alone is also responsible for causing, or not beneficially addressing, adverse conditions that can be prevented or treated through the methods and compositions discussed herein.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to methods for preparing high optical density solutions of nanoplates, such as silver nanoplates or silver platelet nanoparticles, and to nanoparticles, solutions and substrates prepared by said methods. The process can include the addition of stabilizing agents (e.g., chemical or biological agents bound or otherwise linked to the nanoparticle surface) that stabilize the nanoparticle before, during, and/or after concentration, thereby allowing for the production of a stable, high optical density solution of silver nanoplates. The process can also include increasing the concentration of silver nanoplates within the solution, and thus increasing the solution optical density.
