    Abstract: The present application is directed towards ASDR table contract renewal. In some embodiments, a core may cache an ASDR table entry received from an owner core such that when the entry is needed again the core does not need to re-request the entry from the owner core. As storing a cached copy of the entry allows the non-owner core to use an ASDR table entry without requesting the entry from the owner core, the owner core may be unaware of an ASDR table entry's use by a non-owner core. To ensure the owner core keeps the ASDR table entry alive, which the non-owner core has cached, the non-owner core may perform contract renewal for each of its recently used cached entries. The contract renewal method may include sending a message to the owner core that indicates which cached ASDR table entries the non-owner core has recently used or accessed. Responsive to receiving the message the owner core may reset a timeout period associated with the ASDR table entry.

According to one embodiment, quality of a streaming media session established between a client and a server is indicated by negotiating a single value for a reporting parameter associated with a plurality of quality metrics applied to the same level of the streaming media session. The level may be the session level or a media level. The quality metrics accepted by the client and server during negotiation are reported according to the negotiated reporting parameter value.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a way to use flash memory to keep backup copies of the recently modified data. The recently modified data is stored on a local hard drive and replicated (usually with versions) on a local flash drive when the network connectivity does not exist or not sufficient. As soon as the network connectivity is established the accumulated data is sent to the remote CDP server and the whole space of the flash drive can be reused again. As a result, the data is always replicated: one data copy is stored on the hard drive and the other copy is stored (usually with versions) either on a remote server or a local flash drive. Therefore, the combination of the data on the CDP server and the flash drive can be used to reconstruct the data stored on the hard drive.
