Abstract: A wavelength-swept light source is configured to generate light to be measured that is wavelength-swept coherent light with a wavelength periodically changed. The light to be measured is separated into a measurement section and a reference section that have different optical path lengths, and is then coupled in an interference section to generate interfering light. An analyzer performs a Fourier transform of interference signals of the interfering light, and acquires an actual measured noise floor value for each of the optical path length differences based on a point spread function. An estimated coherence time is determined so that an actual measured amplitude value of the noise floor value and a calculated amplitude value coincide with each other. Linewidth of the light emitted from the coherent light source is measured based on the estimated coherence time.

It can be determined that a user has access to the console component. A graphical representation of the service console can be displayed in a user interface on a display of a device of the user.

The server device may determine respective frequency-domain functions based on the respective time-domain functions; determine route metrics for each of the multiple routes based on the respective frequency-domain functions; sort the multiple routes based on the route metrics; and store or output information regarding the sorted multiple routes.

Abstract: A request to add at least a second user of a social network as a contact of a first user in the social network can be received. A social hierarchy indicating a hierarchical relationship between the first user and the second user can be accessed. Based on the hierarchical relationship between the first user and the second user, whether the second user must approve the request in order for the at least second user to be added as the contact of the first user in the social network can be determined. Responsive to determining that it is not required that the at least second user must approve the request in order for the at least second user to be added as the contact of the first user in the social network, the second user can be added as the contact of the first user in the social network without prompting the second user to approve the request.

Abstract: The present application is directed towards ASDR table contract renewal. In some embodiments, a core may cache an ASDR table entry received from an owner core such that when the entry is needed again the core does not need to re-request the entry from the owner core. As storing a cached copy of the entry allows the non-owner core to use an ASDR table entry without requesting the entry from the owner core, the owner core may be unaware of an ASDR table entry's use by a non-owner core. To ensure the owner core keeps the ASDR table entry alive, which the non-owner core has cached, the non-owner core may perform contract renewal for each of its recently used cached entries. The contract renewal method may include sending a message to the owner core that indicates which cached ASDR table entries the non-owner core has recently used or accessed. Responsive to receiving the message the owner core may reset a timeout period associated with the ASDR table entry.

Abstract: A streaming media client negotiates a single value for each reporting parameter associated with all accepted quality metrics applied to the same level of a streaming media session. This way, each quality metric applied to the same level of a streaming media session is reported with the same rate and optionally the same range, thus reducing the number of QoE/QoS reports generated by the client. According to one embodiment, quality of a streaming media session established between a client and a server is indicated by negotiating a single value for a reporting parameter associated with a plurality of quality metrics applied to the same level of the streaming media session. The level may be the session level or a media level. The quality metrics accepted by the client and server during negotiation are reported according to the negotiated reporting parameter value.

Abstract: A disclosed notification and response system enables applications to communicate with recipients using a number of different media. The notification and response system (i) sends requests to one or more recipients, using the medium specified by each individual recipient; (ii) collects and processes responses; and (iii) forwards the responses to their final destination by means of the medium specified by the final destination. Applications frame requests in at least one supported human language and media format, and the request is delivered to the appropriate recipient(s), according to their preferences. Communication flow expressions specify the recipients for a given request, and how, when and where each recipient shall receive the request. Requests are dynamically updated, and the parameters of a communication flow expression are not evaluated, until the request is delivered.

Abstract: The present invention provides a way to use flash memory to keep backup copies of the recently modified data. The recently modified data is stored on a local hard drive and replicated (usually with versions) on a local flash drive when the network connectivity does not exist or not sufficient. As soon as the network connectivity is established the accumulated data is sent to the remote CDP server and the whole space of the flash drive can be reused again. As a result, the data is always replicated: one data copy is stored on the hard drive and the other copy is stored (usually with versions) either on a remote server or a local flash drive. Therefore, the combination of the data on the CDP server and the flash drive can be used to reconstruct the data stored on the hard drive.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving at one of a plurality of servers, a request from a client for a secure communication session, storing context information associated with the secure communication session at a virtual context server in communication with the servers, and establishing the secure communication session between one of the servers and the client. The context information includes a session identifier, a secret, and a session state. The stored context information is available to the servers to allow the secure communication session to move between the servers. An apparatus for secure data transfer in a virtual environment is also disclosed.

For each message pattern or set of messages between coordinated peers, a conversion session is established. Incoming messages are correlated to their respective conversion sessions so that a common set of conversion rules can be used to convert messages within a particular session.
