Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for association of a song, music, or other media content with a user's video content. The system enables a user to associate a song, music, or other media content that is associated with an audio clip and a song metadata of a media content, with a video they are about to create, or have created, to create a video moment. A recipient of the video moment can hear the audio clip in combination with the video content, and also view the song metadata overlay, to determine the name of the song and artist that was used in the video, or optionally access the song at a media server, for further listening by the recipient.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for providing media content for continuous watching. A rewind command is received while a first episode of a series is generated for display. In response, and without detecting a further command to skip a portion of an episode, the first episode of the series is rewound. Then, in response to rewinding the first episode to the beginning, title credits of the first episode and end credits of a previous episode of the series are automatically skipped; and the previous episode of the series is automatically rewound.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for provide alternative domain names for a single Internet website to different users in results of search queries. The systems and methods can perform operations including maintaining alternative domain names for a single webpage of a content provider and associated context information of the alternative domain names. The operations also include receiving a request for the context information and providing the context information in response to the request. The operations further include receiving a notification of usage of an alternative domain name based on the context information. Additionally, the operations include determining usage metrics for the plurality of alternative domain names of the content provider based on the usage information. Moreover, the operations include periodically culling alternative domain names of the content provider based on the usage metrics.

Abstract: To appropriately prevent an image with disadvantageous or inappropriate imaged content from being transmitted when such imaged content is generated in a use case such as real-time distribution of a captured image, and to prevent mistrust of a viewer due to malfunction or the like. Therefore, a transmission unit is caused to execute transmission of a first image that is delayed by a delay processing unit. If a switching trigger is detected during this time, the image that the transmission unit is caused to transmit is switched from a first image to a second image that is reproduced by a reproduction unit.

Abstract: A predictive tuning system is disclosed in order to reduce the tuning channel delay time in a cable TV architecture. The system comprises a set-top box (STB) configured to instantiate a given number of video decoding pipelines allowing for start broadcasting a particular set of channels which include a sub-set of pre-define channels, such as the antecessor and predecessor channels which are normally pre-tuned, and other sub-set of channels chosen using a predictive algorithm. This algorithm runs locally at the user interface level of the STB suggesting the more likely channels to be watched by the user according to his past behavior according to a specific time slot of a day.

Abstract: In an example, a system specifies a first configuration of the physical transport network that models a plurality of devices as a corresponding first plurality of nodes having a tree topology. Each node of the first plurality of nodes has at least one first device identifier and at least one first connection identifier to other nodes in the tree topology. The system specifies a second configuration of the logical transport network that models the plurality of devices as the first plurality of nodes having a non-tree topology. Each node of the first plurality of nodes has at least one second device identifier, at least one second connection identifier to other nodes in the non-tree topology, the at least one first device identifier, and the at least one first connection identifier of the tree topology.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described to enhance interactive engagement during simultaneous delivery of serial or digital content (e.g., audio, video) to a plurality of users. A machine-based awareness of the context of the content and/or one or more user reactions to the presentation of the content may be used as a basis to interrupt content delivery in order to intersperse a snippet that includes a virtual agent with an awareness of the context(s) of the content and/or the one or more user reactions. This “contextual virtual agent” (CVA) enacts actions and/or dialog based on the one or more machine-classified contexts coupled with identified interests and/or aspirations of individuals within the group of users. The CVA may also base its activities on a machine-based awareness of “future” content that has not yet been delivered to the group, but classified by natural language and/or computer vision processing.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a transportation vehicle are provided. One method includes initializing a first browser at an electronic device to communicate with a remote virtual loader having access to data for an in-flight entertainment (IFE) system of an aircraft; authenticating the first browser by the remote virtual loader; providing IFE data for the IFE system to the first browser by the remote virtual loader with an instruction to grant access to the IFE data by a second browser of the electronic device, the second browser authenticated by the IFE system to send information to the IFE system; and transferring the IFE data from the electronic device to the IFE system by the second browser that obtains access to the IFE data from the first browser in response to the instruction from the remote virtual loader.

Abstract: A system and method for remunerating a display of a cognate substitute image sequence is disclosed. Images sequences in received video content are examined for sequences that are cognate to known image sequences. When detected, such sequences are replaced with cognate substitute image sequences to create a modified video image stream that is displayed on a display screen. A reasonable remuneration for displaying the cognate substitute image is automatically calculated. This monetary charge reflects the nature of the image sequence, the time it was displayed for, the time at which was displayed and the number of electronic devices within viewing range of the display at the time of display. This remuneration is accumulated, and equivalent digital assets automatically transferred between client and provider accounts at an appropriate time.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating new content segments based on object name identification. A content segment may be received from a device and a content structure is generated based on the content segment. The content structure includes objects each having attributes. The system may search a contact database associated with the device to identify a matching entry of the contact database with a particular object. The comparison matches metadata of the matching entry with an attribute of the particular object. Upon matching, the first object is modified to include a name attribute based on the matching metadata of the matching entry. In response to receiving a request using the name of the particular object to create a new content segment, the system inserts the particular object into a new content structure and a new content segment is generated for display from the new content structure.

Abstract: A control device includes a receiver, a generator, and a controller. The receiver receives a shared image to be shared with a user from a poster through a communication line. The generator generates a presented image, the presented image being an image that is to be presented to the user and that is obtained by processing the shared image such that the image is different from the shared image received by the receiver. The controller performs control to transmit the presented image to the poster through the communication line to notify the user of content of the shared image.

Abstract: According to one implementation, a system for redirecting to content after an interruption includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing a content redirection software code. The hardware processor executes the content redirection software code to track a playout status of a primary content being provided by the system, and detect a pause to playout of the primary content due to receipt of an interrupt content by the system. In addition, the hardware processor executes the content redirection software code to, during playout of the interrupt content by the system, save the playout status of the primary content at the pause. The hardware processor further executes the content redirection software code to detect completion of interrupt content playout by the system, and enable a return to the primary content after the pause.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and displaying a non-time bound content channel in a time-bound grid is provided. The system comprises receiving content data representing non-time bound content to be displayed in the time bound grid. The system generates the time bound grid, by creating, based on the content data, a non-time bound content channel. The non-time bound content channel displays one or more content objects representing the non-time bound content in the time bound grid. The system incorporates the non-time bound content channel with a plurality of time bound channels in the time bound grid. The system then causes display of the generated time bound grid on a viewing device of a user.

Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for dynamically switching states of remote control devices. A remote control device may receive voice data from a user, send the voice data to another device which may pass the voice signals to a server. The server may determine instructions associated with responding to the voice signals and send the instructions to the other device, which may convert the instructions to remote control commands. The other device may send the commands along with state information to the remote control device, allowing the remote control device to emit commands determined by the other device and to map other command signals to possible inputs which the remote control device may receive.

Abstract: Implementing methods to provide a shortened textual summary that includes status information that is most pertinent to the user for a plurality of connected smart appliances. The method includes determining a list of current statuses for a plurality of enabled smart appliances and filtering the list to remove statuses that may not be of interest to the user. The filtering of the list is based on a current context of the requesting user and one or more previous contexts of the user. The resulting filtered statuses are then converted to textual snippets, summarized, and provided to the user via one or more output devices.

Abstract: In an example computer-implemented method, unstructured interactions between an unstructured conversation bot and a plurality of users are logged. A process flow model is generated based on the logged unstructured interactions. Instructions based on the process flow model are presented to a user in real time via the conversation bot.

In an aspect, a method comprises rendering a content to a plurality of users, the content having a time duration, rendering a first selectable element associated with the content to a first one of the plurality of users at a first time during the time duration of the rendered content, and rendering a second selectable element associated with the content to a second one of the plurality of users at a second time during the time duration of the rendered content, wherein the second time is different from the first time and the first selectable element is not rendered to the first one of the plurality of users while the second selectable element is rendered to the second one of the plurality of users.

Abstract: The present disclosure discusses systems and methods to mitigate traffic spikes in retrieving secondary content items for display in concurrently streamed content streams. The system can pre-fetch secondary content items for the upcoming secondary content slots. To retrieve an appropriate content item, the system can predict the length of the secondary content slot. The system can use the predicted length of the secondary content slot to distribute the traffic spike over a larger span of time to mitigate the spike.
