  • Patent number: 10582245
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and displaying a non-time bound content channel in a time-bound grid is provided. The system comprises receiving content data representing non-time bound content to be displayed in the time bound grid. The system generates the time bound grid, by creating, based on the content data, a non-time bound content channel. The non-time bound content channel displays one or more content objects representing the non-time bound content in the time bound grid. The system incorporates the non-time bound content channel with a plurality of time bound channels in the time bound grid. The system then causes display of the generated time bound grid on a viewing device of a user.

  • Patent number: 10554753
Abstract: A system and method is provided for service level agreement (SLA) based data storage and verification. According to one exemplary aspect, a method includes storing in electronic memory SLAs associated with a user of client devices and receiving from one of the user a request to verify data previously stored on a remote storage device. Furthermore, the method includes receiving from the client device, for example, a hash value of the data relating to the file and also receiving from a remote storage computer, a hash value created by the remote storage computer for the data that was previously stored on the remote storage computer. Moreover, a processor compares the received hash value and the hash value created by the remote storage computer and transmits a confirmation signal to the client device verifying integrity of the file if the processor determines that the respective hash values match.

  • Patent number: 10542308
Abstract: A content management apparatus manages a content display schedule specifying a time frame for displaying content on a display device. The content management apparatus can reserve to-be-displayed content in an available time frame of the content display schedule. At this time, it is determined whether an attribute of the to-be-reserved content overlaps an attribute of other content in a time frame before or after the time frame where the content is reserved. When the two attributes do not overlap each other, reservation of the content is acceptable.

  • Patent number: 10531160
Abstract: A content delivery system includes a content transmission apparatus that includes at least one processor configured to implement stored instructions and execute a plurality of tasks. The plurality of tasks include a compression task, a transmission task, and a reception task. The compression task performs compression of content dividing thereof into a fundamental component and an extended component. The transmission task transmits content to a client apparatus. The reception task receives a retransmission request for the content. The transmission task determines, depending on a communication condition, whether to transmit the fundamental component of the content or both the fundamental component and the extended component of the content together. The transmission task, upon the reception task receiving the retransmission request, retransmits only the fundamental component of the content that corresponds to the retransmission request.

  • Patent number: 10405045
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for estimating audience member engagement with content, or distinguishing between users consuming content and users who have become distracted or have left. User presence or attention may be estimated from user interactions with or skipping of content, with the user interactions either compared to high quality engagement data from small audience measurement panels, or extrapolated based on a temporal-engagement curve. An attention gap may be estimated, representing users that were not present for or not engaged with or paying attention to a presentation of content at a client device. This allows the measurement system to distinguish between users who consumed and potentially enjoyed the content, and users who did not, even as client devices of both sets of users receive and present the content items.

  • Patent number: 10356447
Abstract: Systems and methods enable the determination of a playback position of a video player. A request is received, at a system over a network from a user device, for an item of video content. Interstitial content is received. The interstitial content is segmented into segments and the segments are encrypted. A given decryption key is associated with a respective locator, such as a URL. A playlist manifest file is generated that includes locators corresponding to segments of the requested item of video content, segments of the interstitial content, and decryption keys for respective encrypted interstitial segments. The generated playlist manifest file is transmitted to the user device. A request for a first decryption key for an encrypted first interstitial segment is received, and based on the request, a playback position of the video player is determined.
