Abstract: A system includes a processor coupled to a memory. The processor and memory are configured to receive, from one or more cameras, multiple images of a victim undergoing a resuscitation event at a rescue scene; generate a representation of the rescue scene based on the received images; and determine a characteristic associated with the resuscitation event based on an analysis of the of the rescue scene.
Abstract: A weapon training device include a frame, a reciprocating member in sliding longitudinal engagement with the frame, and a magazine coupled to the frame. The magazine has a compressed gas chamber in fluid communication with a valve. A light emitter actuated by a switch tied to a trigger is disposed in a barrel. A fire control module has a trigger that is releasably engaged thereto and positioned in axial alignment with the valve, and linked to the switch. A piston is fixed to the frame and is in fluid communication with the magazine valve. A piston sleeve is fixed to the reciprocating member, and the piston is be received therein. An impulse to the piston sleeve from the gas directed into the piston is transferred to a rearward longitudinal motion of the reciprocating member relative to the frame.

Abstract: A simulation platform module. The simulation platform module determines that an external simulation object exists. The simulation platform module initiates the external simulation object into an executing state, and receives from the external simulation object an event mapping. The event mapping maps an input to an event implemented by the external simulation object in response to notification of the occurrence of the input, and an object attribute identifier that identifies an object attribute controlled by the external simulation object. The simulation platform module receives a user input from a user, and determines that the user input matches the input. The external simulation object is notified of the occurrence of the input, an input identifier that identifies the input is stored in a data structure.

Abstract: Described herein are methods for determining a target musculoskeletal activity cycle (MSKC) to cardiac cycle (CC) timing relationship. The method may include detecting a signal responsive to a cyclically-varying arterial blood flow at a location on a head of a user; providing a recurrent prompt at a frequency of the heart pump cycle using the signal, such that the signal correlates with a magnitude of blood flow adjacent to the location, and the recurrent prompt is provided to guide the user to time performance of a component of a rhythmic musculoskeletal activity with the recurrent prompt; and guiding the user to adjust a timing of the component of the rhythmic musculoskeletal activity to substantially maximize a magnitude of the signal. In some embodiments, the method further includes generating the recurrent prompt by amplifying the sound generated by the blood flow in or in proximity to an ear of the user.
Abstract: A device for stabilizing a firearm or practice weapon while a user practices firing includes a movement sensor, a sensitivity adjuster and a feedback device to emit an audio or visual feedback responsive to the movement when the movement sensed exceeds a threshold level determined by the sensitivity level. The audio or visual feedback may have a feedback characteristic that corresponds to a pattern of the movement.
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for athletic performance and technique monitoring are disclosed. In one example, a sensor output is received associated with a movement of a user torso during a running motion. The sensor output is analyzed to identify an undesirable torso motion.
Abstract: A training pistol having an adjustable trigger with a shot-indicating laser to signify the impact of a shot which would simulate a bullet hole of a live fire pistol. In one form a trigger prep indicating system to indicate where the trigger is pressed showing the trigger finger is on the trigger and the trigger is repositioned from a rest state to a position longitudinally rearward therefrom.

Abstract: A method for providing an operator of a vehicle with operating information includes providing at least one predetermined demonstration of the operating information, deciding if one of the at least one predetermined demonstration is desired to be presented to the operator and, if desired, automatically presenting the demonstration to the operator in an operator compartment of the vehicle when the operator is in an operational position.
Abstract: A CPR patient training mannequin. The CPR patient training mannequin provides for training and teaching individuals in proper CPR technique. The mannequin includes a simulated torso section and simulated head section that enables a user to administer CPR and visually inspect the mannequin's response to the administration. The torso section utilizes a sensor configured to detect pressure exerted by a user performing chest compressions and includes one or more lights positioned in a simulated carotid artery and brain that are operably connected to the sensor. The lights are configured to illuminate to indicate the pressure exerted by a user. In an alternative embodiment, the torso section includes simulated lungs having lights that illuminate if a user properly performs a jaw-thrust maneuver and nose pinch on the mannequin.
Abstract: An operator training and maneuver refinement system and method that enhance the degree of control an operator is able to exercise over a controlled device such as an aircraft, vehicle, equipment or other device by sequentially providing and visually displaying to the operator a direct comparison of real-time input controller positions for at least one operating parameter with stored empirical input controller positions for the same or a similar operating parameter over a predetermined time interval, preferably also displaying the deviation between the real-time and stored empirical controller positions.
Abstract: A firearm training system includes a device body simulating a firearm and a releasable magazine accessory. The magazine accessory is retained within a receptacle formed within a handle of the device body by a pair of catches and two springs that provide opposing forces on the magazine accessory. The firearm training system also includes an improved trigger assembly that reduces breakage of the trigger under repetitive trigger pulls.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for providing a realistic training environment for health care and patient care providers using a simulated medical device. The method can include actuating a first actuator of the simulated medical device that turns on the device and then actuating a second actuator of the device, where, in response to the actuation of the second actuator, the user is prompted to simulate scanning a bar code. In response to actuating a third actuator, a light can illuminate. The method can further include inserting a test strip into a slot of the device and, in response to the insertion of the test strip, the device can initiate a pre-set timer countdown where, at the completion of the countdown, the visual display can display a simulated medical value.

Abstract: A method of supervising the safe carrying of firearms establishing rules for the situations where live ammunition is allowed to be in the chamber of the firearm. A supervisor checks that a dummy round is in the chamber of the firearm before the supervised person goes on duty outside of direct supervision. The dummy round is designed so that it records occasions when it is removed from the chamber. The recording is designed to last until checked by the supervisor. In some cases the dummy round undergoes changes that make the recording. In other cases the dummy round keeps count of the number of times it is removed from the chamber. In still other cases the dummy round communicates with a device which makes the recording. In each of these cases the system of supervision insures that live ammunition is only chambered when appropriate.
