Abstract: A blasting cap simulator for use in bomb disposal training. The simulator has a bridge rectifier, a voltage regulator and an RF key fob transmitter. A fuse across the incoming power lines shorts the device and prevents it from activating until the fuse is blown. It then sends an RF signal to an instructor. The transmitter uses the power lines as an antenna to send out the RF signal. The transmitter is protected from the voltage of the power lines by a choke located on each powerline.
Abstract: A universal marksmanship training system is disclosed herein configured to utilize a display device comprising a graphic display. A software application may also be provided. The software application is often configured to display a virtual target on the graphic display. A chamber insert may be utilized, the chamber insert configured to be positioned with the firing chamber of a firearm to be zeroed, wherein the chamber insert interacts with the software application to determine alignment of a bore of the firearm to a bore alignment point on the graphic display. In one form, the display device displays a sight target on the graphic display wherein the sight target is visually perceived by a marksman and is offset from the bore alignment point by an offset distance. In one form, the software application calculates the sight target relative to the bore alignment point of the firearm given a set of condition variables.

Abstract: A laparoscopic trainer platform assembly includes: a training platform; a base, configured to accommodate at least one target array; the target array including a planar surface upon which are disposed a plurality of protruding targets oriented at various angles on the base; a left side support for supporting the training platform on the base; and a right side support for supporting the training platform on the base.
Abstract: A system and method for improving safety when operating an aircraft in reduced or modified visibility conditions is disclosed. A flight helmet having a visor with an electrically controlled optical state is configured to automatically move the visor up out of the pilot's line of sight on receipt of a signal from a safety sensor. This sensor-based automated moving of the visor helps alleviate danger in circumstances where the visor is improperly hindering the pilot. The helmet can be used, for example, in reduced-visibility training sessions and thereby improve the safety of such sessions. And the helmet can be used with enhanced or synthetic vision systems as a failsafe if the systems are hindering rather than helping the pilot.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods of intravascular procedure training are provided. In some instances, the method includes outputting, from a computing device to a display device in communication with the computing device, a first visual representation of a blood vessel; determining, using the computing device, a first course of action based on the first visual representation of the blood vessel; receiving, at an input device in communication with the computing device, a user input associated with a second course of action; comparing, using the computing device, the first and second courses of action; and outputting, from the computing device to the display, a comparison of the first and second courses of action. Associated devices and systems are also provided.
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods appropriate for use in medical training using a patient simulator and various anatomical inserts. One such system generally includes a patient simulator and an anatomical insert, the patient simulator including a simulated vascular system, and the anatomical insert being fluidically couplable to the simulated vascular system and including a simulated artery and a simulated vein. When the anatomical insert is fluidically coupled to the simulated vascular system, the simulated vascular system is adapted to pressurize the simulated artery and the simulated vein with a blood-like fluid to simulate natural arteries and veins. Moreover, when the simulated vascular system pressurizes the simulated artery and the simulated vein with the blood-like fluid, the simulated vascular system is adapted to provide a pulsatile flow of the blood-like fluid to the simulated artery and a steady flow of the blood-like fluid to the simulated vein.

Abstract: An application on a mobile phone or tablet computer or eyeglasses listens to the speech of a profoundly deaf person and interprets it in real time. The voice recognition can be trained to the voice of the profoundly deaf person. A display such as a small tablet display which can be hung around the speaker's neck can present text output by the voice recognition module to allow someone to read the text. The application can then detect speech from the listener and display text converted from the speech to the deaf person through glasses or to a cell phone that is being held by hand or to the tablet, or to a different tablet that the previous listener has hung around his or her neck. In case of the same tablet the text from the listener's speech can be shown upside down so that the deaf person can look down and read the text.
