  • Patent number: 7532872
Abstract: A wireless peripheral interface is used for coupling with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port for connecting a wireless peripheral with a host computer or controller. Wireless peripheral devices (e.g., keyboard, mouse, trackball, touch pad, joysticks, and game controllers) transmit communication signals, e.g., radio frequency (RF) signals, to the peripheral interface, which are received and processed into formats suitable for transmission to the host computer or controller via USB, either alone or in combination with other standard external bus systems, such as serial and PS/2.

  • Patent number: 7529561
Abstract: The invention enables a reliable end-to-end monitoring system by means of which the location of containers and other conditions related to the containers can be continuously or almost continuously monitored. The containers are equipped with such container units that are capable to co-operate with each other, which is especially needed in challenging radio environments. The co-operation of the container units is based on mesh network algorithms. Each container unit placed in a container includes a short range radio and a cellular network radio. Thus, the container unit is able to connect to two different types of communication networks. In addition, each container unit uses a certain connection set-up logic. When a set-up attempt results in a connection, the container transmits its message through the connection. The invention comprises the container unit, a mesh network composed of container units, and a system reporting container events.

  • Patent number: 7519374
Abstract: A mobile device comprises at least a program starter, a communication controller, a display controller, a display portion, and an instruction portion. The mobile device receives report information that is emitted in a predetermined period by a guidance information terminal upon entering the communication area of the guidance information terminal in a state where a guidance information display application has been started by the program starter. The mobile device causes the display portion to display a dialog screen for issuing an instruction with regard to whether to acquire guidance information by means of the display controller upon reception of the report information. When the acquisition of guidance information has been instructed by the instruction portion, the mobile device issues a request to the guidance information terminal to transmit the guidance information by means of the communication controller and receives the guidance information.

  • Patent number: 7499725
Abstract: A mobile terminal such as a cellular telephone can include a voice recording function. Upon arrival of an incoming call when the cellular telephone is executing a recording operation, the cellular telephone informs of the arrival of the incoming call by any one of or both of an incoming call display on a display unit and light emission of light emitting means. At this time, the cellular telephone stops a sound generating operation and a vibrating operation which affect the recording operation. The recording stops temporarily when a user answers the incoming call.

  • Patent number: 7496343
Abstract: A state of a programmable mixer is set during a calibration phase to minimize local oscillator feedthrough. During a calibration phase, inputs to the programmable mixer are set to zero, or to a known state and the local oscillator is set to a calibration frequency. Then, one of a plurality of known calibration states of the programmable mixer is entered and the local oscillator feedthrough is measured. For each of a plurality of operating states an amplified output of the programmable mixer is measured. In one operation, the state of the programmable mixer in which the programmable mixer operates during a next operation phase is the state that produces minimal local oscillator feedthrough. In another operation, operation continues until a state is found that produces a local oscillation feedthrough that meets an operating criteria and that state is used during the next operation phase.

  • Patent number: 7483683
Abstract: Rejection of local oscillator harmonic response is provided in a mixing circuit with a pair of harmonic gating switches serially connected to the outputs of a balanced differential switching mixer and controlled by a gate clock signal having twice the frequency of a local oscillator signal controlling the switching mixer. An aperture or duty cycle of the gate clock signal determines which harmonic is rejected or suppressed, which is preferably a third and/or fifth harmonic since response of the balanced differential switching mixer to even harmonics is negligible. The resulting simple, efficient circuit is readily integrated directly into a phase-alternating mixer structure for a chopper-direct-conversion radio.

  • Patent number: 7477891
Abstract: The present invention contains a priority base station (20) placed in a sensitive area (19) to restrict unwanted calls using mobile telephones (5-7). In one example, the base station is a priority base station where a mobile telephone has a preference for the type of base station that it represents. The priority base station then exclusively manages communication with the mobile telephones to neutralize their sending-receiving.

  • Patent number: 7477876
Abstract: A channel quality feedback method for wireless transmission is described in which the rate for reporting channel quality information from a mobile station to a base station is variable as a function of the presence or absence of a transmission from the base station to the mobile station. In particular, the feedback rate from the mobile station to the base station is increased when the mobile station detects a transmission from the base station. As such, the feedback rate is slower when there is no data transmission for the mobile station and faster when the mobile station is receiving data.

  • Patent number: 7466967
Abstract: A communication system that can improve communication quality by accurately re-creating reproduction timing at the receiving end even at the time of receiving VBR data or in the case of the occurrence of a packet loss. A send rate recognition section recognizes a send rate from a time stamp. A memory stores data. A dummy data addition section adds dummy data for correcting the difference between a read rate set for reading out data from the memory and the send rate to the data written to the memory. A read clock generation section generates a read clock which is equal to the read rate. A dummy data removal section removes the dummy data from the data read out from the memory on the basis of the read clock.
