According to an example, transmission of the power control preamble can be explicitly scheduled and/or implicitly scheduled. The power control preamble can be transmitted at a power level determined by an access terminal utilizing an open loop power control mechanism. A base station can analyze the power control preamble and generate a power control command based thereupon to correct the power level employed by the access terminal. The access terminal can thereafter utilize the power control command to adjust the power level for uplink data transmission.

By activating the interference rejection filter path to suppress the predefined interference signal based on detection of the predefined interference signal, it is possible to dynamically respond to the predefined interference signal that may randomly appear in the WDS, thus providing an enhanced overall RF performance in the WDS.

The power offset may allow transmission parameters of channels on the secondary stream to be determined based on the transmit power level of the primary stream and a gain factor for a reference channel transmitted via the primary stream.
