The method further includes determining a location of a fault in the cable network based on the fault signature and the geographical information, in which the determining further includes: determining a length of a fault cavity associated with the fault; identifying at least one segment having a length the same as the length of the fault cavity; identifying terminating devices associated with the at least one segment; and tagging the identified terminating devices as potentially faulty.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may use a sampling rate that is less than a default sampling rate associated with a wireless carrier. The device may operate in a narrowband portion of a system bandwidth, and the sampling rate may be less than that used by devices monitoring the whole bandwidth. Multiple sampling rates may be used so that a portion of signal processing may be associated with one sampling rate and another portion of the signal processing may be associated with another sampling rate. The size of a cyclic prefix (CP) may be adjusted based on the sampling rate to align subframe timing boundaries for signals of different sampling rates. In some cases, each symbol of a signal may include both a CP and a postfix such that the postfix for each symbol overlaps the prefix of the next symbol.

The current node examines a portion of the data packet by matching each of a plurality of candidate matches to that portion of the data packet. The candidate matches include a pattern to be matched against the portion, a priority that determines the order in which the candidates matches are matched, and the identity of the next node.

The base station may receive the paging request, and initiate a page process with the UE. The UE may receive a page message, and initiate an access procedure that may be used for transmission of the small data. The UE may be in idle mode prior to the small data transmission, and in some examples may return to idle mode following the transmission of the small data.

One method includes a feedback approach in which a base station (BS) device collects information from mobile devices in the cell operated by the BS device and other BS devices in other cells. Each mobile device feeds back a best beams set and a worst interference beams set to its serving BS device and the information is shared amongst other BS devices in the network. According to the information, BS devices implement a beam selection criterion to select a beam for downlink transmission. To reduce feedback cost, another method leverages the channel reciprocity in time division duplexing to use the measured uplink power and interference information to select the narrow beam for downlink transmission. The BS device selects the narrow beam that establishes a reliable channel and reduces interference to mobile devices in neighboring cells.
