Abstract: The present invention, generally speaking, provides a broad-based solution for acquisition, processing and distribution of media objects including pictures (images), movies, videos, graphics, sound clips, etc via the Internet or the like. And specifically, it is a solution to such systems for use in applications wherein there are multiple originators of media objects that will be viewed in multiple web sites having different viewing requirements. A browser-based prepare and post tool prepares and submits media objects from inside a standard browser to a remote server. A Media Acquisition, Processing and Distribution (MAPD) system receives these media objects, processes them to meet specific requirements, and delivers them for integration into remote databases. MAPD system services include media object submission, processing, hosting and mirroring. The hosting service delivers a media object URL to a remote database, allowing the media object to be requested and served by the media object server.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for a serial subscriber to provide an RSS feed that is updated according to the user's consumption of serialized content. The serial subscriber creates a subscription request to receive a feed of serialized content from a content source, the feed comprising a plurality of episode references to episodes of the serialized content. The serial subscriber defines a subscription point relative to at least one episode reference within the feed of serialized content to designate where to parse the serialized content for downloading at least one episode of the serialized content. The serial subscriber creates a graphical representation of the at least one downloaded episode and monitors playback of the at least one downloaded episode to update the feed of serialized content with respect to the subscription point.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing bookmark information of a media server through a network based on the UPnP AV standard is disclosed. If a request for bookmarking a content item is made, a bookmark item is created and the created bookmark item is linked to the content item by adding the ID of the created bookmark item to the property information of the content item and recording the ID of the content item to be bookmarked in the created bookmark item.

Abstract: An initial portion of an object is received at a hosted storage system. The initial portion of the object is stored at the hosted storage system. After receiving the initial portion of the object, a timer is started. Prior to the expiration of the timer, whether an additional portion of the object is received at the hosted storage system is determined. The initial portion is deleted upon the expiration of the timer if the additional portion is not received. The timer is reset if the additional portion is received.

Abstract: A method for measuring the spatial frequency response (SFR) of an imaging system (299) including a display device (280) and an image capture device (290) is disclosed. The method displays a sequence of displayable test pattern images on the display device, the sequence comprising a first test pattern image and at least two subsequent test pattern images, each of the displayable test pattern images including a test pattern having at least one sinusoidal pattern at one or more spatial frequencies such that a phase shift of the sinusoidal pattern has a plurality of pre-determined values. The displayed images are captured with the image capture device to generate a corresponding sequence of captured test pattern images. The captured test pattern images are then compared with the displayable test pattern images to calculate the SFR at a plurality of image locations in the imaging system at the one or more spatial frequencies.

Abstract: An image display apparatus and method to simultaneously display two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) images with minimized visual 3D discomfort. The image display apparatus may include a lens unit to spatially separate images displayed in a display panel unit to thereby simultaneously form a 2D image viewing area and a 3D image viewing area, respectively, enabling the simultaneous displaying of the 2D images and the 3D images.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for optically measuring external thread profiles, particularly at the ends of pipes, wherein the thread is previously synchronously produced in a production line and is continuously measured in line from start to finish of the thread prior to further processing. Abstract: System and method for scanning an object using a surveying instrument is provided. The method includes designating an area associated with an object to be scanned. Defining one or more sections within the area associated with the object. Scanning a portion of the area associated with the object corresponding to a first section of the area associated with the object and designating one or more sections adjacent to the first section if scan results indicate presence of an object. Designating one or more sections adjacent to the first section for not scanning if the scan results of the portion of the area associated with the object corresponding to the first section do not indicate presence of an object. A remote control device is provided that can control the surveying instrument, receive the scan results, and analyze the scan results for subsequent use.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for supporting system initiated checkpoints in parallel computing systems. The system and method generates selective control signals to perform checkpointing of system related data in presence of messaging activity associated with a user application running at the node. The checkpointing is initiated by the system such that checkpoint data of a plurality of network nodes may be obtained even in the presence of user applications running on highly parallel computers that include ongoing user messaging activity.

Abstract: Systems and methods consistent with the invention may include providing an instance of business process management suite in a sandbox of a web browser. The instance of the business process management suite may be based on an archive received from a web server. The business process management suite may be controlled using a graphical user interface in a browser. Providing a business process management suite may further include creating an instance of a database management system in the sandbox. The instance of the database management system may further store its data in the local memory of a client device.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing reminders for electronic communications. For instance, response patterns of a user are determined by communication type based on monitoring past response behavior of the user and the response pattern data is stored for the user by communication type. After storing the response pattern data for the user by communication type, a particular communication that is for the user and that is initiated by a first sender is received. A type of the particular communication is determined and response pattern data associated with the determined type of the particular communication is accessed. A response reminder time for the particular communication is set based on the accessed response pattern data associated with the determined type of the particular communication.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to a sensor and apparatus for vehicle height and slant measurement which can include a light source, and two cameras with respective lenses. The light source can be configured to emit light towards a road, and both cameras can be configured to receive the image of the road that is illuminated by the light from the light source and to thereby create image data. The apparatus can include a control circuit that can geometrically measure a vehicle height in accordance with the image data. The sensor can also receive image data from different points and from two light sources, and the apparatus can detect a vehicular lean using the different vehicle heights. Thus, because the sensors of the disclosed subject matter do not necessarily include a moving part as in the conventional sensor, the sensors can be easily attached to a vehicle body and can also be used for a vehicular lean detection.

Abstract: A network monitor program operating in each node included in a cluster system, for causing the node to execute: when a response to an existence confirmation message from a relay apparatus, which relays a business request to the node, could not be received, obtaining status data of other nodes included in the cluster system; when the status data of the other nodes represents that one of the other nodes is in a usable state, confirming whether or not the node in the usable state can communicate with the relay apparatus; and when it is confirmed that the node in the usable state can communicate with the relay apparatus, notifying a cluster manager of an occurrence of a communication failure.

Abstract: A method for analyzing web page paths associated with accesses to one or more web pages associated with one or more websites is disclosed. The method includes storing, for each instance of a web page access of the one or more web pages, time of access data, page access data, and entity data. The method further includes, for each entity reflected in the storage, determining one or more web page paths traversed by the entity based at least on the time of access data and the page access data, wherein each path includes accesses to at least two web pages. The method additionally includes analyzing at least one of the one or more websites or at least one of the one or more web pages, based on the determined one or more web page paths, and providing the analysis to one or more users or software processes.

Abstract: A method for establishing routes to neighboring networks during an initialization sequence according to a prioritized order may include detecting a power-cycling event and accessing a plurality of identifiers stored in a memory device that persisted through the power-cycling event. Each of the plurality of identifiers may be associated with a network. The networks may include first networks that are coupled to network endpoints, and second networks that are capable of coupling to the one or more first networks. For each network, the method may further include accessing a priority field in the memory device that may be associated with the network. The respective priority field can be based on an order in which communications should be established with the network and application layer information. The method may also include attempting to establish communications with each of the plurality of networks in an order based on the priority fields.

The host computer receives a request to provide virtual environment content including imagery data associated with the virtual environment to the client computer, and provides a content stream including a plurality of content data segments containing virtual environment content at a content stream bandwidth based on an event stream bandwidth associated with the event stream to the client computer.

Abstract: A system and method for presence subscription delegation in a multi-domain environment in an SIP-based presence system are provided, in which a watcher transmits a presence subscription delegation request to a presence subscription delegation handler of a delegating user, the presence subscription delegation handler performs delegation authorization for the received presence subscription delegation request according to a presence delegation authorization rule of the delegating user being authorization information about presence subscription delegation, and a presence server of a presentity receives the presence subscription delegation request from the presence subscription delegation handler, performs presence authorization according to a presence authorization rule of the presentity, and transmits presence information about the presentity to the watcher via the presence subscription delegation handler.
