    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for improving SPS operation in a wireless communication system. The method includes configuring an user equipment (UE) with a downlink (DL) assignment or an uplink (UL) grant through a PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel) addressed by a SPS C-RNTI (Semi-Persistent Scheduling Cell Radio Network Temporary Identity). The method also includes receiving, at the UE, a reconfiguration message for a SPS (Semi-Persistent Scheduling) operation in a higher layer, such as a RRC (Radio Resource Control) layer. The method further includes reconfiguring, at the UE, the SPS operation based on the reconfiguration message if the reconfiguration message includes a release of the SPS operation.

    Abstract: A wireless device comprises a primary antenna, a primary transceiver, one or more secondary antennas and one or more receive diversity chains. The receive diversity chains, in some embodiments, include transceiver capability. The wireless device measures and collects various statistics. Based on the statistics, the wireless device enables or disables one or more of the receive diversity chains with respect to a cellular radio access technology (RAT). A disabled receive diversity chain, in some instances is then powered down. During an interval when a receive diversity chain is disabled, the control logic periodically or on an event-driven basis enables a given receive diversity chain to probe channel quality indicator (CQI) and channel rank values. In some embodiments, a time interval for collecting a portion of the statistics, is adapted or backed off in anticipation of use of the receive diversity chain, based on traffic circumstances.

    Abstract: An edge server of a distributed edge compute and routing service receives a tunnel connection request from a tunnel client residing on an origin server, that requests a tunnel be established between the edge server and the tunnel client. The request identifies the hostname that is to be tunneled. An IP address is assigned for the tunnel. DNS record(s) are added or changed that associate the hostname with the assigned IP address. Routing rules are installed in the edge servers of the distributed edge compute and routing service to reach the edge server for the tunneled hostname. The edge server receives a request for a resource of the tunneled hostname from another edge server that received the request from a client, where the other edge server is not connected to the origin server. The request is transmitted from the edge server to the origin server over the tunnel.

    Abstract: A wireless communication network modifies a non-Guaranteed Bit Rate (non-GBR) bearer through a wireless repeater chain into a Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) bearer. A wireless access node exchanges user data with User Equipment (UE) over the non-GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain. The wireless node monitors latency of the user data exchange over the non-GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain. When the latency of the non-GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain exceeds a latency threshold, the wireless node transfers a bearer modification request for the UE to a core packet network. The wireless node receives a bearer modification instruction for the UE from the core packet network to modify the non-GBR bearer into a GBR bearer. In response, the wireless node modifies the non-GBR bearer into the GBR bearer and exchanges user data with the UE over the GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain.
