  • Patent number: 5887871
Abstract: A portable board game simulating a street for competitive play by from two to six players. The playing surface includes a series of twelve sequentially numbered landing spaces which must be progressively negotiated by having a playing piece successfully land totally within each numbered space in sequential order to complete the game. The board includes a series of obstacles of the type found on a city street or highway which are positioned to interfere with a game piece as it is moved from one numbered space to a succeeding numbered space. The obstacles include, for example, a raised manhole cover plate, a speed bump, a pair of barrier cones and at least two pot holes which form depressions or recesses in the surface of the board similar to potholes formed in a roadway. The board also includes a centrally positioned "dead box" which serves as a penalty zone, penalizing a player whose game piece lands in the dead box. • Patent number: 5882008
Abstract: A board game apparatus including a game board divided into a plurality of playing spaces connecting a starting space with a destination point. The players roll a die and move along the playing spaces accordingly. Upon landing on a playing space, the player has the choice to either answer an objective question or a subjective question in order to continue moving toward the destination point or pass. If the player incorrectly answers a question, he or she must move backward along the path between the starting point and the destination point. The objective cards each include a question and a correct answer, while the subjective cards include a question and two possible answers. The correct answer to a subjective question can be determined either by selecting a pre-determined answer printed on the card based on a poll of the general public or other selected group, or by polling the players.

  • Patent number: 5873572
Abstract: A method of playing a wagering game 20 between a plurality of players includes dealing four-card hands from a standard 52 card deck to each player, including a player-banker. The cards have numerical values, ace equals one, face cards equal ten, and two through ten equal their respective face values. The players are afforded the opportunity to (a) draw one additional card, or (b) stand with the dealt cards. The winning hand is then determined by either (a) the fourth card with the highest numerical value, or (b) the least significant digit of the total of the fourth and fifth cards with the highest numerical value. If neither player has three cards which total to one of ten, twenty, or thirty, then the hand is a push and no wager 500 is won by either player.

At least one die is randomly thrown on a surface until it comes to rest and exposes a number on an exposed face thereof. A subset of cards is removed from the top of the deck of cards with the indicia concealed, the subset cards being equal in number to the number exposed on at least one die.
