Abstract: Techniques are described for detecting desynchronization between an audio component and a video component of a media presentation. Feature sets may be determined for portions of the audio component and portions of the video component, which may then be used to generate correlations between portions of the audio component and portions of the video component. Synchronization may then be assessed based on the correlations.

Abstract: A device may receive content data, a first model, and a second model. The first model may be trained on different types of metadata than the second model. The content data may include a first identifier of a first content item and a first set of metadata associated with the first content item. The device may process the first set of metadata to generate first recommendations from the first model and second recommendations from the second model. The device may provide the first identifier and a combination of the first recommendations and the second recommendations to client devices. The device may receive, from the client devices, user-generated target recommendations based on the combination. The device may process the user-generated target recommendations, the first recommendations, and the second recommendations, to provide feedback to update the first model and the second model.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards providing extended Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 compliant content. An ATSC 3.0 extension device receives ATSC 3.0 compliant content and other data via a broadband communication. The ATSC 3.0 extension device broadcasts the ATSC 3.0 compliant content via ATSC 3.0 data signals and broadcasts the other data via 5G data signals. A user device receives the ATSC 3.0 compliant content via the ATSC 3.0 data signals and receives the other data via the 5G data signals. The user device combines and outputs the ATSC 3.0 compliant content with the other data for presentation to a user.

The communication system receives a request to establish a communication session with a local communication device via a network. The communication system outputs a reference audio signal to a locally connected audio output device. The communication system captures an ambient audio signal from a local microphone and compares the reference audio signal and the ambient audio signal to determine if the reference audio signal and the ambient audio signal match by meeting a similarity threshold. initiates an action with respect to the communication session based on the comparison.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to a device and method for controlling ambiance based on user-requested content. The device receives training data, user content requests, and user network device modification data. The device ascertains a content type for a user content request, performs analytics on the training data to create a model to predict ambiance settings, predicts ambiance settings for the content type using the model, evaluates the accuracy of the model and performs optimizations to the model to improve the predictions of the ambiance settings. The device controls the operating settings of one or more network devices based on the predicted ambiance settings. Moreover, exemplary embodiments are directed to controlling the enabling of display notifications, controlling reminder notifications, and controlling greeting notifications using a face identifier and notification settings.

Abstract: A device may be configured to render at least one spatial region of 360-degree media content, which may include two or more spatial regions. The device may include a receiver configured to receive the 360-degree media content and metadata associated with the 360-degree content. The metadata may include a classification of a respective spatial region of the 360-degree media content. The device may further include a memory configured to store a user preference and a sensor configured to detect a user movement. The device may include a processor configured to determine that the user movement is associated with a rendering of the respective spatial region. The processor may further determine whether the classification complies with the user preference and alter the rendering of the respective spatial region if the classification violates the user preference.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods and systems for improved accessibility scoring for content items. A predicted accessibility score may be based on a plurality of multimodal features present within a content item. The plurality of multimodal features may include video features (e.g., based on video/image analysis), audio features (e.g., based on audio analysis), text-based features (e.g., based on closed-captioning analysis), features indicated by metadata (e.g., duration, genre, etc.), a combination thereof, and/or the like. A predicted accessibility score for a content item may indicate how accessible the content item may be for persons who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, cognitively impaired, etc., as well as for persons who desire to view content that requires less visual attention and/or audio attention as the case may be.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for relocating an overlay overlapping information in content. The systems and methods may comprise receiving a content item, the content item comprising a video image, and determining a first screen position of an information box (e.g., a score box) in the video image. Determining may be performed with image analysis and/or a machine learning model. The system receives an overlay image (e.g., a channel logo) with a second screen position and determines if the second screen position (e.g., for the logo) overlaps the first screen position (e.g., for the score). In response to determining the second screen position (e.g., of the logo) overlaps the first screen position (e.g., the score), the system modifies the second screen position (e.g., for the logo). Then the system generates for display the overlay image on the video in the modified screen position. The system may not relocate the overlay if the overlay is a high priority.

Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for controlling data such as content and/or application data transmitted to one or more user devices. One method can comprise receiving a request for first content and generating, in response to the request for the first content, a first transport stream comprising the first content and application data relating to a first application. At least a portion of the first transport stream is transmitted to a recipient device. An interruption in the transmission of the first transport stream is detected and a determination is made that only a first portion of the application data has been transmitted to the recipient device. A second transport stream including second content and a second portion of the application data is generated and transmitted.

Abstract: A computerized system for targeted ad insertion receives a program content stream and detects images in the content stream. The system recognizes at least one visual object within the images and matches the recognized visual object to an advertisement that correlates with the recognized visual object. The system may then select an advertisement that advertises, correlates to, is directed to or is otherwise relevant to products or services falling under the theme, topic, category of interest and/or relevant viewer demographic and inserts an identifier of the matched advertisement at an insertion point into the program content stream. This enables playback of the matched advertisement during playback of the program content stream at a time that correlates to the insertion point into the program content stream of the identifier of the matched advertisement.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for detecting a type of prurient activity shown by a portion of video content. In an example, a machine learning model of a computer system may receive a second portion of video content, the machine learning model including a neural network that is trained to analyze a temporal dimension of the second portion. The machine learning model determines a score indicating a likelihood that the video content shows the type of prurient activity based in part on applying a three-dimensional filter to the second portion of the video content. The computer system then generates a video clip that includes at least the portion of the video content showing the type of prurient activity based on the score, and provides the video clip for display.

Abstract: A wireless hub is configured to receive a plurality of video channels and to present the plurality of video channels on at least one display as a wide-angle video. The wireless hub is further configured to graphically display a plurality of speaker positions and control configuration of speakers of the speaker positions based on a provided speaker configuration parameter. The wireless hub is configured to transfer data with a plurality of wireless devices and display data from the wireless devices on the display screen and to communicate with a cellular phone and display on the display device caller ID information of an incoming telephone call on the at least one display device. First observation data corresponding to media device operations associated with a first media device and mapped to first content items may be processed. A first content composite including an adaptable content item may be received. The first content composite may be adapted with a first audio segment. Based on the first observation data, the first audio segment may be selected. The first content composite may be configured with the first audio segment so that the adapted first content composite plays the first audio segment when the adapted first content composite is presented. The adapted first content composite may be output for presentation, where the first endpoint media device or the second endpoint media device performs at least one operation relating to the adapted first content composite.

Abstract: An electronic device receives a request, from a first device of a host user, to initiate a first shared playback session for the first device and one or more additional devices. The electronic device streams media content from a first playback queue to the first device and to the one or more additional devices, the first playback queue including one or more media content items corresponding to the first shared playback session. The electronic device determines that the first device of the host user has left the first shared playback session and, in response, maintains the first playback queue to be accessed by the one or more additional devices. After the host user has left the first shared playback session, the electronic device provides one or more media content items from the first playback queue to at least one of the one or more additional devices.
