    Abstract: A rotary compressor in a cooling or a heat pump system which is provided with an oil injector and includes an oil separator on the high pressure side of the system. Oil is returned to the compressor for lubrication, cooling and sealing and is normally caused to circulate by means of the natural pressure differences in the cooling system. When the pressure level is too small to provide sufficient oil circulation, an oil pump is connected. By employing a pressure controlled regulating valve in the system, which serves both as a pressure regulating and a flow regulating valve, the oil pump may be caused to run idle when a sufficient pressure difference has been attained in the system.

    Abstract: A hermetic refrigeration compressor has a cylinder block and a crankshaft rotatable about a vertical axis to reciprocate a piston in a cylinder on the cylinder block. A separate bearing housing is secured to the central portion of the cylinder block and extends vertically along the crankshaft, where it carries a pair of roller bearings to journal the crankshaft. The crankshaft has a radially extending flange which is journaled by a thrust-type roller bearing above the bearing housing to absorb the vertical forces on the crankshaft so that all three of the roller bearings are between the crankshaft and the bearing housing to maintain and control the close tolerances required by such bearings.

A fixed scroll is fixed within the housing and has a circular end plate from which a first spiral element extends. The end plate of fixed scroll partitions the inner chamber of housing into a front chamber, which includes a suction chamber connected to the fluid inlet port, and a rear chamber. The rear chamber is divided into a discharge chamber connected to the fluid outlet port and an intermediate pressure chamber. The end plate of the fixed scroll has at least two holes which connect the fluid pockets to the intermediate pressure chamber. A control device controls communication between the suction chamber and the intermediate pressure chamber and includes communicating mechanism.

The spool valve is disposed in a passage communicated with the suction port and with a working chamber when in its compression stroke. The spool valve is formed therein with another passage which, when the spool valve is in the position to restrict the suction port, communicates the compression chamber with the suction port to relieve a part of the compressed fluid.

As the ring is rotated relative to the housing, the volumes of the spaces increase or decrease. Each of the first bearings has two pressure pockets axially adjacent each other. Fluid flows out of the spaces and is distributed to the corresponding pressure pockets via restrictors.

    Abstract: A rotary vane pump has a pressure operated valve to bypass pump outlet flow to the inlet of the pump for flow regulation. A metering throttle bore, downstream of a choke bore, responsive to viscosity is a passage from the pump to a consumer such as a servosteering system. Responsiveness to viscosity is effected by providing an area in cross section for flow passage in the metering bore, which flow area is much smaller than the wetted surface area of the passage. A pressure agent at a cold temperature having greater viscosity than that at a higher temperature will effect flow regulation of the pump sooner than the high temperature pressure agent. Since for a cold pressure agent the viscosity is higher, the resistance to flow through the metering throttle bore is greater. As a result, the pump must work at a higher pressure which actuates the pressure operated valve to effect bypass flow.

    Abstract: A fuel injection pump has a rotary and axially slidable distributor member housed in a sleeve in which is formed a series of outlet ports and a series of inlet ports the two series of parts being in axially spaced planes. The distributor member has an outlet groove for registration with the outlet ports in turn and an inlet groove for registration in turn with the inlet ports. The two grooves communicate with a pumping plunger bore so that as the distributor member rotates fuel will be supplied to the bore through an inlet port and the inlet groove and will flow from the bore through the outlet groove and an outlet port. Interconnected balancing grooves are provided on the distributor member for communication with the outlet ports and inlet ports respectively to ensure that following delivery of fuel through an outlet port, that port will be connected to an inlet port before the next delivery of fuel through the port takes place.

    Abstract: The device of this invention has a variable capacity pump, a channel through which the discharged fluid from the pump passes toward an actuator, a variable choke located in the channel and pressure detecting means which detects the pressure difference on opposite sides of the variable choke. The opening area of the channel is varied by the variable choke in relation with the pressure of the fluid being supplied to the actuator, namely the pressure of the fluid flowing downstream of the variable choke. The device of this invention may also have an auxiliary variable choke located in the channel. The auxiliary variable choke can control the amount of fluid being supplied to the actuator in response to the operating condition of the actuator.

    Abstract: A pressure and delivery regulating device for an adjustable pump includes a directional control valve connected in a discharge conduit and to a control conduit branching from the discharge conduit between the pump and the directional control valve. The control conduit leads to a setting piston for the adjustment of the pump. The directional control valve is controlled by a solenoid which in turn is controlled by a control system consisting of a regulating circuit, a delivery limiting circuit and a control circuit for the solenoid. The output signal from the regulating circuit controls a desired delivery value signal supplied to the delivery limiting circuit. A follow-up circuit connected between the regulating circuit and the delivery limiting circuit corrects the regulating signal and a circuit for producing a direction dependent signal from the actual pressure provides a damping of the regulating circuit.
