Abstract: A process and system allowing mobile users to initiate a two-way text message (SMS) conversation with a subscriber's computer. The steps consist of using a mobile user's mobile device to send a SMS containing a keyword and short code to a Short Message Service Center (SMSC), receiving an SMS reply containing an Individual Identification Code Numbers (IICN) which establishes two-way SMS communication between mobile user and business/subscriber. The invention further establishes IICN network which allows businesses to create-a SMS network, previously only available with voice phone networks, providing the Mobile User with the options of auto SMS replay, SMS conversation transfer, or interactive two-way SMS communication with a live SMS operator.

  • Patent number: 11057743
Abstract: A mobile device can include ranging circuitry to determine distance to another mobile device. Ranging between multiple mobile devices can present challenges due to clock drift between the devices resulting in missed messages due to collisions between ranging messages. Techniques can be implemented to reduce the number of collisions by designating time slots for ranging sessions based on timing from a coordinator mobile device. Alternative techniques allow for splitting up channels at different time amount different pairs of devices. The ranging techniques can be used to share information between devices with a predefined distance for applications such as augmented reality.

  • Patent number: 11057741
Abstract: Systems and methods for improved personal monitoring systems and devices include the provision of sensor data from a personal monitoring device to a server system. The sensor device is provided to the server system at a first rate and subsequently analyzed by the server system. If the server system determines that a particular condition is met based on the sensor data the server system transmits a reconfiguration message to the personal monitoring device that causes the personal monitoring device to automatically begin providing data at a second rate. Among other things, the condition resulting in generation and transmission of the reconfiguration message may include a location-based condition (e.g., crossing a geographic boundary), a change in an environmental condition (e.g., temperature or air quality), or a movement-based condition (e.g., an acceleration indicative of a fall or collision).

  • Patent number: 10986501
Abstract: A Secure Telephony Identity (STI) proxy server is described for intercepting incoming Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication requests for the purpose of mitigating an effect of fraudulent and nuisance VoIP communications. The STI proxy server may facilitate an STI verification server in verifying an authenticity of an originating network associated with an incoming call request. In one example, the STI proxy server may verify that the visited network is permitted to interact with the home network, based on a list of permissible networks. In addition, the STI proxy server may determine whether public STI certificates associated with an originating network have expired or set to expire within a predetermined time interval. In response to an actual o impending expiration, the STI proxy server may facilitate retrieval of a superseding, new public STI certificate for use by an STI authentication server to digitally sign an outgoing SIP INVITE messages.
