Abstract: A self-draining canopy that includes a covering, an orthogonal support structure, and a drainage system. The covering can have a substantially quadrilateral shape in a horizontal plane. The orthogonal support structure can be coupled to the covering. When erected, non-vertical elements of the orthogonal support structure that the covering rests upon can be positioned substantially orthogonally within the horizontal plane. A natural contour of the formed canopy can automatically direct environmental substances deposited upon the top surface toward the corners of the canopy where the drainage system is installed. The drainage system can transport environmental substances from the top surface of the canopy to an outlet location. Transportation of the environmental substances can be provided by the force of gravity. The drainage system can prevent the accumulation of environmental substances on the top surface of the canopy and deformation of the canopy due to such accumulations.

Abstract: An attachment to a walker that automatically positions a slip resistant surface under the foot of the user. Side-by-side slip resistant surfaces are attached to a walker. A retraction mechanism biases each of the slip resistant surfaces towards the walker. Upon stepping on one of the slip resistant surfaces and advancing the walker the retraction mechanism is extended. When taking a step removing pressure from the slip resistant surface, the slip resistant surface moves towards the walker positioned for receiving the user's foot during another step. Secure footing is obtained on wet or slippery surfaces preventing falls. The attachment is easily folded and closed to be positioned out of the way or removed for storage.

Abstract: A crank handle positioning assembly structured to selectively position a mast mounted canopy of an umbrella into and between open and closed orientations. A gear housing is disposed within the interior of the mast in at least partially enclosing relation to a gear assembly and in driving relation to at least one elongated drive gear. A crank handle is disposed on an exterior of the mast and extends there-through into rotationally driving relation to the gear assembly. A rider member is interconnected in driving relation to the canopy assembly and is reciprocally movable along the length of the drive gear upon rotational, driving engagement of the crank handle with the gear assembly. Concurrent, cooperative directions of linear movement of the rider member and a rotational movement of the crank handle is determinative of the positioning of the canopy assembly in either the open or closed orientations.
Abstract: An umbrella includes a canopy, a stand body, a supporting pole, a rope device for opening and closing the umbrella, and a spring member. The stand body includes a plurality long umbrella ribs, a plurality short umbrella ribs, an upper canopy and a bottom canopy.
