  • Patent number: 9071537
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for propagating port state to intermediary devices of a cluster in a static link aggregation environment. The methods and systems include a cluster comprising a plurality of intermediary devices in communication with a network device via a static link aggregation comprising aggregated ports from different intermediary devices of the cluster. A first device of the static link aggregation is configured to detect that a health of the first device is below a predetermined threshold and, responsive to the detection, identify one or more ports in the aggregated ports as down. A second device of the link aggregation is configured to, responsive to the identification, remove the ports from a distribution list for the static link aggregation. Upon detection that a health of a device is above a predetermined threshold, the first device may identify the ports as up.

  • Patent number: 9042404
Abstract: The present application discloses apparatus and methods for increasing channel utilization for a high-speed serial interface of an integrated circuit (IC). A new circuit architecture is disclosed which provides circuitry that may be programmed flexibly to support a multitude of different channel bonding schemes. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the new architecture decouples the granularity of control-signal channel bonding from the granularity of data-aggregation channel bonding. This advantageously allows optimization of configurations for both types of channel bonding. In another aspect of the invention, the logical boundaries of bonded user channels are decoupled from the physical boundaries of the PCS modules. This decoupling advantageously eliminates a rigid constraint of previous architectures.

  • Patent number: 9036575
Abstract: A radio communication system (1) includes a pico-cell base station (PeNB) which is located in the communication area of a macro-cell base station (MeNB) and the transmission power of which is lower than that of the macro-cell base station (MeNB). For radio resources that can be used as PDSCH, a resource division ratio that is a ratio between unusable PDSCH resources, which cannot be used by the macro-cell base station (MeNB), and usable PDSCH resources, which can be used by the macro-cell base station (MeNB), is decided, and a radio resource is allocated, out of the usable PDSCH resources defined in accordance with the decided resource division ratio, to a radio terminal that is to connect to the macro-cell base station (MeNB). The resource division ratio is decided based on the traffic load of each base station.

  • Patent number: 9030939
Abstract: In one embodiment, an intermediate node in a computer network may receive one or more reactive routing route requests (RREQs) from an originating node and, based on those RREQs, may build a first directed acyclic graph (DAG) in the computer network that may be rooted at the originating node. The intermediate node may then forward the RREQs towards a target node in the computer network. The intermediate node may then receive one or more reactive routing route responses (RREPs) from the target node. Based on those RREPs, the intermediate node may then build a second DAG in the computer network that may be rooted at the target node. The intermediate node may then forward the RREPs towards the originating node. In this manner, the intermediate node may then forward traffic from the originating node toward the target node according to the second DAG (with alternate routes to the target node).

  • Patent number: 8995394
Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling fast dormancy on LTE wireless connections. In an example embodiment, a user device generates a signal strength measurement report upon receiving an indication that a data transfer via an active wireless connection with a first infrastructure node according to a first wireless communication standard, such as LTE, is complete. The user device submits the signal strength measurement report to the first infrastructure node to trigger a handover. The user device implements the handover to a second infrastructure node to yield a second wireless connection according to a second wireless communication standard, such as WCDMA. Upon completion of the handover to the second infrastructure node, the user device transmits to the second infrastructure node a request to release the second wireless connection.

  • Patent number: 8958426
Abstract: Embodiments include an overlay multicast network. The overlay multicast network may provide a set of features to ensure reliable and timely arrival of multicast data. The embodiments include a congestion control system that may prioritize designated layers of data within a data stream over other layers of the same data stream. Each data stream transmitted over the network may be given an equal share of the bandwidth. Addressing in routing tables maintained by routers in the may utilize summarized addressing based on the difference in location of the router and destination address. Summarization levels may be adjusted to minimize travel distances for packets in the network. Data from high priority data stream layers may also be retransmitted upon request from a destination machine to ensure reliable delivery of data.

  • Patent number: 8953554
Abstract: A user equipment performs downlink measurement on neighbour cells, but the measurement performance on a target cell (in terms of measurement period/sampling/accuracy etc) is dependent on the relative performance difference between the target cell and a reference cell. The reference cell may be the serving cell, or may be the strongest cell. The network is thus able to keep track of the required number of target cells without degrading the measurement performance of important cells. The UE on the other hand is still able to save its battery as much as possible while making full use of DRX.
