Patent number: 11423148Abstract: Discovery of unique identifiers in firmware can be prevented. During the boot process on a computing system, and after the firmware has generated firmware tables containing unique identifiers, an anonymizer module of the firmware can generate an anonymized version of the firmware tables and cause the anonymized version of the firmware tables, rather than the original, system-unique firmware tables, to be accessible after the operating system is loaded. In this way, once the operating system is loaded, when a module attempts to read the firmware tables, the read will be performed against the anonymized version of the firmware tables thereby preventing the module from obtaining any of the computing system's unique identifiers. A copy of the firmware tables may be maintained separately from the anonymized version of the firmware tables to enable authorized utilities to obtain the computing system's unique identifiers.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2020Date of Patent: August 23, 2022Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: William D. Patent number: 11416059Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for powering an Information Handling System (IHS) that receives a high-power transmission from a multimode AC adapter supporting USB-PD transmission and also supporting the high-power transmissions of a voltage greater than the supported USB-PD voltages. A power circuit converts the high-power transmission to a charging voltage used to charge a battery system of the IHS. After the multimode AC adapter is unplugged from the IHS, power is drawing power from the battery system of the IHS. When the battery system drops below a low-voltage threshold, the power drawn from the battery system is routed to the same power circuit. While operating this low-voltage threshold, power is drawn from the battery system via the power circuit. When the battery system drops below a second low-voltage threshold, an off power state of the IHS is initiated.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2020Date of Patent: August 16, 2022Assignee: Dell Products, L.P.Inventors: Andrew Thomas Sultenfuss, Richard C. Patent number: 11314277Abstract: Examples described herein provide a method for reducing lane-to-lane serial skew in an integrated circuit. In an example using a processor-based system, a maximum clock skew is determined from clock skews of respective lanes of a transmitter of the IC. Each of the clock skews corresponds to a skew of a clock signal of the respective lane relative to a same reference clock signal. A skew match amount is determined for each lane of the lanes of the transmitter. The skew match amount for a respective lane of the lanes is based on the maximum clock skew and the clock skew of the respective lane. Configuration data is generated to configure the transmitter to shift incoming data for each lane of the lanes based on the skew match amount for the respective lane.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2019Date of Patent: April 26, 2022Assignee: XILINX, INC.Inventors: Riyas Noorudeen Remla, Gourav Modi, Azarudin Abdulla, Chee Chong Chan
