  • Patent number: 10332277
Abstract: A method, executed by an encoding circuit, for selecting an optimal decimated grid includes estimating, among a plurality of decimated grids within a coded block, a weight decimation error for each of a vertical decimated grid and a horizontal decimated grid. A weight decimation error is estimated for each of remaining decimated grids among the plurality of decimated grids based on a corresponding weight decimation error among the vertical decimated grid and the horizontal decimated grid. For each of the plurality of decimated grids, an initial combined error is determined by combining the weight decimation error and a color format choice error. Two decimated grids having the least initial combined errors, among the plurality of decimated grids, are selected as optimal decimated grids.

  • Patent number: 10210662
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate generally to systems and methods for analyzing and manipulating images and video. According to particular embodiments, the spatial relationship between multiple images and video is analyzed together with location information data, for purposes of creating a representation referred to herein as a surround view for presentation on a device. A real object can be tracked in the live image data for the purposes of creating a surround view using a number of tracking points. As a camera is moved around the real object, virtual objects can be rendered into live image data to create synthetic images where a position of the tracking points can be used to position the virtual object in the synthetic image. The synthetic images can be output in real-time. Further, virtual objects in the synthetic images can be incorporated into surround views.

  • Patent number: 9984510
Abstract: The methods, systems, techniques, and components described herein allow interactions with virtual elements in a virtual environment, such as a Virtual Reality (VR) environment or Augmented Reality (AR) environment, to be modeled accurately. More particularly, the methods, systems, techniques, and components described herein allow a first virtual element to move within the virtual environment based on an anchor relationship between the first virtual element and a second virtual element. The anchor relationship may define an equilibrium position for the first virtual element. The equilibrium position may define a return position for the first virtual element with respect to the second virtual element. Responsive to the first virtual element being displaced from the equilibrium position, the virtual element may move towards the equilibrium position.
