Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention is a method of interposing operations in a computational system that includes a virtualization system executable on an underlying hardware processor that natively supports one or more instructions that transition between host and guest execution modes.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for amorphous data preparation for intelligent data source selection in application development are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A set of keywords is selected from a code portion of a source code. Using a subset of the set of keywords, an expected circumstance is determined, the expected circumstance being a circumstance relevant to a purpose of the source code. From a set of data sources, a data source is identified, wherein the data source provides information usable in the expected circumstance. A manner of accessing the information from the data source is identified. Pseudo-code is constructed to implement the manner of accessing the information from the data source. A weight is assigned to the data source based upon a type of input used for selecting the pseudo-code, wherein the selecting uses the pseudo-code in the source code.

Abstract: Providing content and/or functionality through a display of a locked computing device. Configuration data defined by a user or application vendor identifies the content and/or functionality to be made available. Upon receipt of the content, the computing device modifies the received content based on the configuration data and provides the modified content to the user through the display of the locked computing device. The computing device also interacts with the user in accordance with the functionality identified by the configuration data. In some embodiments, notifications about voice mail or electronic mail messages are displayed to the user through a locked touch screen display. Responsive to a finger tap or other user input, additional yet limited information relating to the notifications is displayed.

Abstract: Filtering rules for incoming messages can be dynamically generated by a message management service based on patterns in the user's behavior. The message management service can analyze event records associating user actions with features of messages to detect correlations between message features and resulting actions, including correlations across multiple messaging accounts belonging to the same user. Based on correlations, the message management service can provide a suggested rule to the user's client device, and the user can accept or decline the suggestion.

Abstract: Novel stands for tablet computers and other electronic devices. A stand for a tablet may comprise a body having one or more attachment mechanisms at one location and a crossbar at a second location. The crossbar may comprise a portion of a first material disposed to magnetically interact with a portion of a second material that is provided by the tablet. The magnetic interaction may cause the crossbar to serve as one or more detents that movably affixes the stand in a desired position relative to the tablet.

Abstract: Managing direct attached cache and remote shared cache, including: receiving from an enclosure attached server, by an enclosure that includes enclosure cache, a request for data; determining, by the enclosure, whether the data has been requested by a predetermined number of enclosure attached servers; and responsive to determining that the data has been requested by a predetermined number of enclosure attached servers, marking, by the enclosure, the data as enclosure level cacheable.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a safety system integrated into a liquid-insulated high voltage network grounding switch, including modifications to the switch structure to provide an arrangement that is more efficiently installed with greater precision than found in conventional arrangements. The result is a switch assembly that adheres to updated IEEE/ANSI Standards, while still fitting into existing vault space meant to accommodate earlier switch gear.

Abstract: Improved mobile advertisement syndication capabilities are disclosed for mobile communications facilities, such as cell phones. These and other capabilities are employed to improve delivery of mobile advertisements and their syndication, such as associating advertising content with websites or applications, to appropriate or desirable mobile communication facilities.

Abstract: The vision sort system provides a semi-automated sort system that requires no other action from the user other than picking up a box and placing on a skid. The vision sort system is most effective in a manual sort system. The vision sort system integrates various operational technologies in order to provide staff with information to ensure the packages are sorted to the correct destination. Validation feedback is provided to ensure no missorts occur. Information is collected on the package and final destination for tracking purposes. Benefits of the vision sort system include sort accuracy, package visibility, and reduced requirement for sort knowledge by operator and revenue recovery (cube and reweigh) on all packages. This application is perfect for pick and pack systems that are in-motion and any transportation sortation facility. This is applicable for any product including mail or non packaged items.

Abstract: An articulated coupler permits vertical displacement of a towed vehicle relative to a towing vehicle while preventing lateral or horizontal displacement of the towed vehicle relative to the towing vehicle. Multiple linkage arms provide coupling for special configuration towed vehicles such as short wheel-mounted lifts that experience torsional forces due to the presence and absence of loads on the lift.

Abstract: A pressure relief valve for a common rail fuel system includes a hard ceramic spherical valve member that moves into and out of contact with a conical valve seat of a soft metallic valve body. Fretting damage to the valve is inhibited by using the dissimilar materials, and by using a guide pin that is allowed to move on the spherical surface of the ceramic spherical valve member. The valve member may be constructed of silicon nitride.

Abstract: An apparatus has a pump module providing pump energy, a resonator and a controller. The resonator includes a gain medium receiving the pump energy from the pump module and producing light; reflective surfaces reflecting light produced by the gain medium back toward the gain medium; and a variable light attenuator receiving light produced by the gain medium. The controller controls the amount of light attenuated by the variable light attenuator such that the apparatus emits windows of pulses of laser light at spaced time intervals, each window containing a plurality of pulses of laser light and each interval between windows being larger than an interval between pulses within a window. The emitted windows of pulses of laser light heat tissue to a temperature that causes coagulation without vaporization.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are described for protecting an electronic device. In one aspect, an electronic device might comprise a housing defining an open front face, a chassis disposed within the housing, a panel disposed within the open front face of the housing and supported on the chassis, and an elastomeric overmold surrounding at least a portion of a perimeter of the panel and disposed between at least a portion of the chassis and at least a portion of the housing. In some cases, the overmold might be configured to provide a perimeter seal around the panel and to deform upon a frontal impact to the panel or housing. The overmold might be configured to prevent intrusion of liquids or particulates within the electronic device. In another aspect, a protective housing, which might comprise the housing, the chassis, and the overmold, may be provided for protecting a stand-alone electronic device.

Abstract: A shop-assembled solar receiver heat exchanger having an arrangement of heat transfer surfaces and a vertical steam/water separator structurally and fluidically interconnected thereto. A vertical support structure is provided to support the vertical separator and the heat transfer surfaces. The vertical support structure is bottom supported, while the vertical steam/water separator and heat exchanger heat transfer surfaces are top supported from the vertical support structure. The vertical support structure provides structural support and rigidity for the heat exchanger and a means by which the heat exchanger can be picked up and lifted for placement at a desired location. A fabrication/transport/lifting fixture is provided which facilitates fabrication, assembly, transportation and erection of the heat exchanger from the shop to the field. The fixture supports two trunnion shafts attached to the support structure of the receiver. Lifting lugs would be located on the top end of the support structure.

Abstract: A step apparatus is disclosed for individual training or group fitness classes. The step apparatus may simultaneously contain a plurality of step heights for a dynamic work out. The platform heights may be quickly adjusted to user preference. The adjustable settings may be self-contained within a single unit, or alternate pieces may be provided for additional variation. The step apparatus has a frame and a plurality of step platform units, with each platform unit having two height settings.

Abstract: An apparatus for assisting an actuator to close a valve has a cylindrical booster housing with a central axis. The booster housing includes an upward facing piston cavity and a downward facing lower cavity with internal threads for selectively coupling with external threads of a piston head of a valve actuator. A bulkhead is formed between the piston cavity and the lower cavity. The bulkhead has an opening for selectively accepting an actuator stem of the valve actuator therethrough. A booster piston is located within the piston cavity. The booster piston has a piston mounting means located on its bottom side for selectively securing a top end of the actuator stem of the valve actuator to the booster piston. The booster piston is moveable upwards in an axial direction to move the valve from a lower open position to an upper closed position.
