Abstract: A guitar has a control system with a control surface disposed over the guitar and connected to the control system. A gesture is performed over the control surface. The gesture is created by user interaction with the control surface, such as movement of one or more fingers. The operation of the control surface is selectable and generates electrical signals representative of the gesture. An audio signal generated by the guitar is modified in response to the control signal. A musical accessory, e.g., an amplifier, effects box, synthesizer, special effects, or speaker is coupled to the guitar. The control signal is sent to the accessory to modify and control properties of the accessory. A configuration of the accessory and a configuration of the guitar are modified in response to the control signal. The control system is programmed to output the control signal over a wireless network.

Abstract: Novel systems and methods are disclosed for electronic key provisioning and access management in connection with mobile devices. The electronic keys can be time-denominated and event-denominated, thereby increasing the security and ease of use of access management for physical or virtual resources. The access management is granted in a protocol based on biometric features, contextual data, electronic keys, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: A system for storing data collected by a body-worn sensor includes a central processing unit (CPU) that is configured to control operation of a gateway device; and one or more computer readable data storage media storing software instructions that, when executed by the CPU, cause the gateway device to: receive a MAC address of a new sensor and a protocol version associated with the new sensor from a server; attempt to contact the new sensor using the protocol version and the MAC address; when a response is received, send the response to the server for validation; when the response is validated by the server, establish communications with the new sensor; and forward data from the new sensor to a second server.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine is disclosed including a bifurcation fairing located in a bypass duct of the gas turbine engine and traversing the radial extent of the bypass duct. The bifurcation fairing has a delivery conduit inlet leading to a delivery conduit extending inside the bifurcation fairing, the delivery conduit being arranged in use for delivery of bypass air to one or more components of the gas turbine engine. A diverter conduit has a diverter conduit inlet from the delivery conduit upstream of the delivery conduit reaching the one or more components of the gas turbine engine. The diverter conduit has an outlet to a location other than the one or more components of the gas turbine engine.

Abstract: A data sharing platform can be used to implement a method for allowing at least one entity which makes payments with a payment network to share transaction data. A database containing the transaction data from the at least one entity which makes payments with the payment network is maintained. A user interface is provided, which presents the at least one entity which makes payments with the payment network with at least one selection providing consent to sharing of at least a portion of the transaction data with at least one third party. The consent from the at least one entity which makes payments with the payment network is obtained, via the at least one selection. Interfacing takes place with the at least one third party to share the at least portion of the transaction data.

Abstract: A method for a dealer to manage products in an inventory includes providing an interface and a processor. The interface is connected for communication with the processor. The interface and the processor are configured so the dealer can provide a plurality of rules through the interface for running on the processor. The processor is configured for running a program for applying the rules to input information that may be provided to the processor regarding a product in the inventory. Outputs of the running the program applying the rules include at least one merchandising action regarding a product in the inventory. The processor is connected to automatically receive the input information and the processor is configured for running a program to automatically implement the at least one merchandising action resulting from applying the rules to the input information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing encoded messages within a wireless communications system are disclosed. A server within the wireless communications system determines whether the size of an encoded message is too large for a wireless communications device. If the message is too large, the server removes part of the message and sends an abbreviated message to the wireless device, together with additional information relating to processing of the encoded message, such as, for example, hash context values, that assist the wireless communications device in verifying the abbreviated message.

The drug library can have upper hard and soft limits and lower hard and soft limits associated with at least one drug. A graphical user interface can display a bar chart showing upper and lower soft limit bars for the at least one drug. The upper and lower soft limit bars can be grabbed and dragged on the graphical user interface in touch-screen fashion to new positions associated with new upper and lower soft limits. The graphical user interface and associated hardware and software can be configurable to responsively re-analyze data and compare a particular infusion to the new upper and lower soft limits.

The agent is a human SIRP? fusion protein that displays negligible CD47 agonism and negligible red blood cell binding. The fusion protein comprises an IgV domain from variant 2 of human SIRP?, and an Fc having effector function. The IgV domain binds human CD47 with an affinity that is at least five fold greater than the affinity of the entire extracellular region of human SIRP?. The fusion protein is at least 5 fold more potent than a counterpart lacking effector function.

Abstract: A membrane bioreactor (MBR) has membranes comprising a supporting structure. A supply unit doses a sorbent such as powdered activated carbon (PAC) into the MBR. The PAC is maintained at a concentration in the mixed liquor of 200 mg/L or more. Mixed liquor with the sorbent particles recirculates within the MBR at a flow rate of at least twice the feed flow rate. Air bubbles are provided to scour the membranes including during at least part of a permeation step. The sorbent particles are present in the mixed liquor and contact the membranes. Bioaugmentation products may be immobilized on PAC or other carriers and then added to an MBR or other bioreactors.

The embodiments may include a wearable device that may receive from a mobile device a request to wirelessly connect to the wearable device. The wearable device may establish with the mobile device a first wireless connection. The wearable device may recognize termination of the first wireless connection by the mobile device and send to the mobile device a second request to establish a second wireless connection. The wearable device may establish the second wireless connection between the mobile device and the wearable device.

Abstract: Assisted viewing of web-based resources by an end user of a head-mounted display device (HMD) is described. An HMD may display content from web-based resources using a see-through display while tracking eye and head movement of the end user viewing the content within an augmented reality environment. Active view regions within the see-through display are identified based on tracking information including eye gaze data and head direction data. The web-based resources are analyzed to identify content and display elements. The analysis is correlated with the active view regions to identify the underlying content that is a desired point of focus of a corresponding active view region, as well as to identify the display elements corresponding to that content. A web-based resource is modified based on the correlation. The content from the web-based resource is displayed based on the modifications to assist the end user in viewing the web-based resource.

The plastic shaft is supported within the stator by a bearing structure. A resilient motor mount couples the stator and the housing and provide compliance and/or damping for the motor.
