Abstract: Embodiment of the present invention includes a magnetic structure and a magnetic structure used in a direct current (DC) to DC energy converter. The magnetic structure has an E-core and a plate, with the plate positioned in contact or in near contact with the post surfaces of the E-core. The E-core has a base, a no-winding leg, a transformer leg, and an inductor leg. The no-winding leg, the transformer leg, and the inductor leg are perpendicular and magnetically in contact with the base. The plate is a flat slab with lateral dimensions generally larger than its thickness. The plate has a plate nose that overlaps a top no-winding leg surface of the no-winding leg with a no-winding gap area to form a no-winding gap with a no-winding gap reluctance. The plate also has a plate end that overlaps a top inductor leg surface of the inductor leg with an inductor gap area to form an inductor gap with an inductor gap reluctance. In some embodiments, e.g.

  • Publication number: 20220272023
Abstract: A controller includes a transceiver to establish a first session with a route reflector and monitor advertisements received by the route reflector from nodes in a network via second sessions established between the nodes and the route reflector. The controller also includes a processor to generate forwarding instructions for the nodes based on the advertisements. The forwarding instructions indicate one or more routes from a root node to one or more leaf nodes of a service. The transceiver provides the forwarding instructions to the root node. In some cases, the first session is established according to the border gateway protocol (BGP) and the one or more second sessions are established according to the BGP. The controller determines that the one or more leaf nodes are registered for one or more virtual private network (VPN) services based on the advertisements.

  • Publication number: 20220269091
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods provide for the prevention of laser light escaping a foldable wearable heads-up display (WHUD) when the WHUD is folded. For a WHUD that adopts the form factor of conventional eyeglasses or sunglasses, enabling the WHUD to fold “like glasses” can cause an interruption in the optical path of display light and enable display light to escape into the external environment. This can be hazardous when laser light is used to provide display light. Systems, devices, and methods that automatically detect, sense, and/or respond to the fold configuration state of a WHUD are described. When the WHUD is unfolded a laser-based display operates normally. When the WHUD is folded the laser-based display is disabled to prevent laser light from projecting out of the WHUD through the folded region. Proximity sensors and laser light containing mechanisms also may be employed as alternative or supplementary safety elements.

  • Publication number: 20220265956
Abstract: A water reservoir includes a water reservoir base configured to hold a volume of water to be used for humidification of pressurized breathable air, a water reservoir lid connected to the water reservoir base, and a compressible resilient portion configured to seal between the water reservoir base and the water reservoir lid. The base and the lid are movable relative to one another when connected whilst maintaining sealing therebetween due to the compressible resilient portion. A retainer is configured to secure the water reservoir to a water reservoir dock, and has a protrusion or recess to releasably engage one another when the water reservoir is received in the dock, with a reaction force to compression of the compressible resilient portion urging the protrusion and the recess into engagement with one another.

  • Publication number: 20220265372
Abstract: In a system and method conveying suture force information in surgery, real times images of a surgical site are captured and displayed on a display. A suture is engaged using at least one surgical instrument, which in some cases is a robotic surgical instrument. The system determines a tension in the suture using force data obtained from force sensors associated with the instrument or a robotic manipulator used to manipulate the instrument, or using computer vision techniques applied to the captured images. An overlay is generated and displayed on the display depicting the determined tension.

Abstract: Techniques for creating consent contracts for devices that indicate whether the devices consent to receiving network-based communications from other devices. Further, the techniques include enforcing the consent contracts such that network-based communications are either allowed or disallowed in the network-communications layer prior to the network communications reaching the devices. Rather than simply allowing a device to communicate with any other device over a network, the techniques described herein include building in consent for network-based communications where the consent is consulted at one or more points in a communication process to make informed decisions about network-based traffic.

  • Publication number: 20220269550
Abstract: A distributed computer system is provided. The distributed computer system includes at least one sequencer computing node and at least one matcher computing node. Electronic data messages are sequenced by the sequencer and sent to at least matcher computing node. The matcher computing node receives the electronic data messages and a reference value from an external computing source. New electronic data messages are put into a pending list before they can be acted upon by the matcher. A timer is started based on a comparison of the reference value (or a calculation based thereon) to at least one attribute or value of a new electronic data message. When the timer expires, the electronic data message is moved from the pending list to another list—where it is eligible to be matched against other, contra-side electronic data messages.

  • Publication number: 20220269077
Abstract: A laser projection system utilizes a waveguide having a narrow incoupler for double-bounce mitigation and form factor reduction. An optical scanner includes an optical relay positioned in between two scan mirrors. The first scan mirror scans laser light into the optical relay in a first dimension, and the optical relay and converges the scanned laser light towards a second scan mirror. The second scan mirror scans laser light along a second dimension substantially perpendicular to a path over which the laser light is scanned across the second scan mirror, and the convergence introduced by the optical relay causes the laser light to be scanned as a line or arc path of an exit pupil plane that is coincident with the incoupler. The optical relay may include one or more lenses or may be a monolithic molded structure, which may be an Offner-style relay or a molded reflective relay.

  • Publication number: 20220271780
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are systems, methods, devices, and machine-readable mediums for improved communications between a software-defined radio front-end device and a network-based computing device. Rather than packetize samples together, same bit positions from multiple ADC samples may be packetized together. If a Quality of Service (QoS) metric of the network connection between the RF front-end device and the network-based processing computing drops below a threshold, the RF front-end device may prioritize sending packets with the more significant bits over packets with less significant bits. In other examples, the RF front-end device may prioritize samples corresponding to certain data types over other data types.

Abstract: Among other things, advertisements are received for brands or products of brands. Criteria for placement of the advertisements are received at online retail sites. The online retail sites are controlled independently from one another. Inventory data for the products at the online retail sites is received and stored. Data about propensities of the consumers to favor one or more of the brands or one or more products of the brands, from activities of consumers on the online retail sites, is stored. Activity data about current activities of the consumers on the online retail sites is received. One or more of the advertisements are placed on pages served to the online retail sites based on the placement data, the inventory data, the propensity data, and the activity data. Conversion data is received indicating that consumers engaged in conversion events with respect to products associated with the brands or products of brands being advertised.

  • Publication number: 20220268223
Abstract: An evaporative emissions control system configured for use with a vehicle fuel tank includes a purge canister, an accelerometer, first and second vent tubes that terminate at first and second vent openings, a first vent valve, a second vent valve, a vent shut-off assembly and a control module. The accelerometer senses acceleration in an x, y and z axis. The first vent valve is fluidly coupled to the first vent tube. The second vent valve is fluidly coupled to the second vent tube. The vent shutoff assembly selectively opens and closes the first and second valves. The control module estimates a location of liquid fuel based on the sensed acceleration from the accelerometer and determines which vent opening is one of submerged and about to be submerged based on the estimated location of the liquid fuel. The control module closes the vent valve associated with the determined vent opening.
