  • Publication number: 20220366736
Abstract: An inspection system includes sensors that are selectively coupled to a vehicle during an inspection and/or maintenance event for the vehicle and a controller that is operable to cause a control system of the vehicle to initiate a first operation and a different, second operation. The controller determines whether first sensor information indicative of a state of the vehicle during the first operation exists. The controller sends a command signal to the control system to direct the control system to change vehicle operations from the first operation to the second operation responsive to determining that the first sensor information is lacking. The controller obtains second sensor information from the sensors based on the second operation and determines a condition of the vehicle based on the first and/or second sensor information.

  • Patent number: 11479379
Abstract: Techniques for improving packaging systems are described. In an example, a computer system receives item data from a workstation. The item data includes a description of an item. The computer system also receives fit parameters. The fit parameters adjust the fit of items within packaging. The workstation is configured to facilitate packaging of the item. Based at least in part on an input to a packaging decision system, the computer system generates a package decision indicating a package type associated with the packaging of the item. The input is based at least in part on the item data. The packaging decision system is trained based at least in part on packaging data associated with historical item orders. • Patent number: 11480389
Abstract: A liquefaction system is capable of sequentially or simultaneously liquefying multiple feed streams of hydrocarbons having different normal bubble points with minimal flash. The liquefying heat exchanger has separate circuits for handling multiple feed streams. The feed stream with the lowest normal boiling point is sub-cooled sufficiently to suppress most of the flash. Feed streams with relatively high normal boiling points are cooled to substantially the same temperature, then blended with bypass streams to maintain each product near its normal bubble point. The system can also liquefy one stream at a time by using a dedicated circuit or by allocating the same feed to multiple circuits.

  • Publication number: 20220321655
Abstract: A system comprising one or more computers implements a synthetic sensor service configured to deploy synthetic sensors to in-vehicle computing devices implementing an in-vehicle distributed computing environment. A synthetic sensor may be placed monolithically at a single computing device (e.g. ECU) in the vehicle, or may be modularly placed on multiple computing devices (e.g. multiple ECUs) of the vehicle that each have resources or inputs that the synthetic sensor requires. The modular components of the synthetic sensor may execute in a runtime environment of the in-vehicle distributed computing environment, such that the modular components function as a unified synthetic sensor even though they are placed on different computing devices of the vehicle (e.g. different ECUs).

  • Publication number: 20220292717
Abstract: Example embodiments allow for fast, efficient detection and pose estimation of objects based on point clouds, depth images/maps, or other depth information about a scene that may contain the objects. Embodiments include translating and rotating the depth image to bring individual points of the depth image to a standard orientation and location so as to improve performance when an object is near the periphery of the field of view. Some disclosed embodiments include applying a random forest to perform pose estimation. By using the decision trees or other fast methods, it can be advantageous to perform pose estimation a plurality of times prior to identifying whether a particular object is actually present in a scene. Prospective pose estimates can be combined with models of the objects in order to evaluate whether the object is present in the scene.

  • Patent number: 11443220
Abstract: To simplify assisting a user in their day-to-day activities, a communication for performing an action may be sent to a user in the form of a query, where the query includes the most likely set of choices for the action arranged in a group of dichotomous (e.g., yes/no) or multiple choice answers. In this manner, a user may respond to the query by simply selecting one of the dichotomous or multiple choice answers. Historical logs of past actions, responses, queries, and so forth, may be used to predict future user actions or needs, and to formulate future queries for sending to the user. These techniques may be implemented, for example, through a remote coordination server or directly through a user's personal electronics device.

  • Publication number: 20220237472
Abstract: Methods and systems for automating carbon footprinting are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include a plurality of steps. In some embodiments, related to predetermined resources associated with an item from predetermined data sources is obtained. Then, estimated emission factors are calculated for each of the resources. Next, a contributory uncertainty of the data and of the emission factors is determined. Then, a user is guided based on a comparison of the respective contributory uncertainty of data related to the resources or emission factors. Next, both data related to the resources and the estimated emission factors of the resources are utilized to determine a carbon footprint of the item.
