  • Publication number: 20210155518
Abstract: A horizontal flow water treatment method and wetland biofilter system with improved flow control via a tubular apparatus and further comprising a chamber with impermeable outer walls spaced away from permeable interior walls of a media filtration bed such that a catch basin is formed between the outer walls and the interior walls. The catch basin creates an open area around the perimeter of the interior walls for influent water to fill within the open area on all sides before penetrating the filtration media, providing a large surface area for influent water to interact with the media filtration bed. The influent water enters the catch basin in a horizontal flow path to provide for pre-settling of particulates before making contact with the filtration media. The biofilter design increases the available surface area of the media filtration bed by up to four times for a given volume of water, and thereby minimizes the loading or infiltration rate on the media filtration bed.

  • Publication number: 20210114905
Abstract: The embodiments of the present technology relate in general to an improved bioretention system for stormwater treatment through volume control and various filtration processes in a horizontal flow media bed. In particular, the disclosed bioretention system transfers water through the media bed horizontally and notably has two sided void area for influent runoff to pond and build up adjacent to the media bed where water is pre-treated, sediments settle on the floor area and water flows into the media bed via its vertical surface.

  • Publication number: 20210100585
Abstract: A bone fixation clamp includes a first clamp assembly, a second clamp assembly, an inner locking member, and an outer locking assembly. The first and second clamp assemblies are transitionable between open and closed configurations. The inner locking member is transitionable between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position the inner locking member engages the first clamp assembly substantially preventing the first clamp assembly from transitioning from the closed configuration to the open configuration. The outer locking assembly is transitionable between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position the outer locking assembly engages the first clamp assembly and the second clamp assembly substantially preventing both the first clamp assembly from transitioning from the closed configuration to the open configuration and the second clamp assembly from transitioning from the closed configuration to the open configuration.

  • Publication number: 20210084147
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for using machine-learning techniques for labeling incoming calls with categories relating to a risk level. A model is generated using call log data. The call log data is augmented using information from additional data sources to generate features for the model. The model may then be used to categorize additional incoming calls. The model may be used in real-time to categorize incoming calls, or categorization results may be stored for a plurality of calling numbers. Various embodiments provide various technical advantages by virtue of how the components of the system are deployed between an endpoint communication device, a telephony provider system, and possibly other systems.

  • Patent number: 10927538
Abstract: A system designed to control and filter runoff water in storm drains is presented. Drain water frequently carries trash, organic matter, suspended solids, hydrocarbons, metals, nutrients and bacteria collected from streets and parking lots into a storm drain inlet, which enters storm water drain pipe systems. The present invention supplies a series of baffle boxes inserted in the drain water stream with a final box possessing an upflow filter comprising filtration media and filter cartridges. The system can also support a storm flow bypass that directs high-flow storm runoff water directly to the outlet to protect the filter system.

  • Patent number: 10907283
Abstract: Methods of braiding using a braiding mechanism are described. The braiding machine includes first and second annular members, the second annular member being concentric with the first annular member. A mandrel extends perpendicularly to and intersects a horizontal plane defined by a substantially circular region of the second annular member substantially at the center of the circular region. Each of the annular members has a plurality of tubular guide wires slideably mounted thereon and a plurality of wires extend from the mandrel through each of the tubular wire guides. The first annular member rotates circumferentially relative to the second annular member. The first plurality of tubular wire guides slides radially inward to align with the second annular member, and the second plurality of tubular wire guides slides radially outward so as to align with the first annular member.

  • Patent number: 10831274
Abstract: A reflection is captured of a subsonic signal reflected by a contact surface. The contact surface is contacting a simulated surface of an object projected from a midair interface (MAI) device. A difference between the subsonic signal and the reflection is converted into a measurement of a flow in the contact surface. When the measurement is in a range of measurements, a change is caused in a temperature of a volume of a medium, the simulated surface being projected in volume of the medium, where the change in the temperature causes a second change in the flow in the contact surface.
