  • Patent number: 10260183
Abstract: Methods for forming a tubular braid are described. The method for braiding includes providing a braiding mechanism including a disc, a mandrel, and a plurality of actuators. The disc defines a plane and a circumferential edge and the mandrel extends from a center of the disc. A plurality of filaments are loaded on the mandrel, each extending radially toward the circumferential edge and contacting the disc at a point of engagement. The plurality of actuators are operated to engage and move a first subset of filaments in a generally radial direction to a position beyond the circumferential edge. The disc or the engaged first subset are rotated relative to one another, thereby crossing the first subset over a second subset of filaments. The actuators are then operated to move the first subset to a radial position on the circumferential edge different from its previous point of engagement.

  • Publication number: 20190042933
Abstract: A set of vectors may be obtained. The vectors may be multi-dimensional vectors that are associated with and describe tokens from a first set of tokens from a corpus of sources. The description may be based in part on the relationship of the token to at least a portion of the remainder of the corpus. A set of sentiment scores may be obtained. The sentiment scores in the set of sentiment scores may describe a sentiment associated with a corresponding token that is described by a vector from the set of vectors. The set of vectors and the set of sentiment scores may be input into a pattern-recognizer pathway in a first neural network. A probability value of a potential future event may then be generated by the first neural network. The probability value may be based on the set of vectors and the set of sentiment scores.

  • Publication number: 20180355554
Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating textiles and textile materials prior to dyeing said textiles or textile materials includes the steps of loading a textile substrate into a vessel and saturating the textile substrate therein with pre-treatment chemicals. The impregnated textile substrate and excess process solution are transferred into a hydraulic press having a flexible bladder. The press squeezes the textile substrate uniformly to remove the excess solution which is captured and recycled for reuse. The squeezed, impregnated textile substrate is stored in airtight containers to allow dyesite formation. The textile substrate is then neutralized, washed, and dried and as thus pre-treated can be dyed in an ecologically sustainable, energy-efficient, and economical process. The method and apparatus ensure uniform moisture pick-up and distribution of the chemical(s) throughout the textile substrate.

  • Publication number: 20180324297
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for using machine-learning techniques for labeling incoming calls with categories relating to a risk level. A model is generated using call log data. The call log data is augmented using information from additional data sources to generate features for the model. The model may then be used to categorize additional incoming calls. The model may be used in real-time to categorize incoming calls, or categorization results may be stored for a plurality of calling numbers. Various embodiments provide various technical advantages by virtue of how the components of the system are deployed between an endpoint communication device, a telephony provider system, and possibly other systems.

  • Patent number: 10121224
Abstract: Embodiments of a device and a frequency data extrapolator are generally described herein. The frequency data extrapolator may receive input frequency data mapped to a two-dimensional frequency grid. As an example, the input frequency data may be based on return signals received, at a sensor of the device, in response to pulsed transmissions of the sensor in a physical environment. Regions of the frequency grid may be classified as high fidelity or low fidelity. A group of basis rectangles may be determined within the high fidelity regions. A column-wise extrapolation matrix and a row-wise extrapolation matrix may be determined based on the input frequency data of the basis rectangles. The input frequency data of the high fidelity regions may be extrapolated to replace the input frequency data of the low fidelity regions.

  • Publication number: 20180087262
Abstract: A system designed to control and filter runoff water in storm drains is presented. Drain water frequently carries trash, organic matter, suspended solids, hydrocarbons, metals, nutrients and bacteria collected from streets and parking lots into a storm drain inlet, which enters storm water drain pipe systems. The present invention supplies a series of baffle boxes inserted in the drain water stream with a final box possessing an upflow filter comprising filtration media and filter cartridges. The system can also support a storm flow bypass that directs high-flow storm runoff water directly to the outlet to protect the filter system.
