  • Publication number: 20240100563
Abstract: Unique polymers and copolymers generated via oMLD processes are described alongside the methods for tuning such polymer and copolymer structures and redox chemistries. The polymers and copolymers described can incorporate monomeric species previously held to have too high an oxidation potential for successful use in oMLD, can exhibit unexpected redox chemistry from the adjustable incorporation of primary amine monomers and resulting azo functional groups, and show superior performance metrics when compared to polymers and copolymers synthesized by other methods. Applications for these polymers and copolymers are also described.

  • Publication number: 20240092300
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for detecting a point-of-impact of a vehicle collision. A mobile device receives a set of sensor measurements from sensors of the mobile device. The mobile device generates a crash feature vector from the sensor measurements and one or more point-of-impact features. The mobile device executes a set of classifiers using the crash feature vector and the one or more point-of-impact features. Each classifier of the set of classifiers is configured to generate an output that is partially indicative of a point-of-impact of the collision. The mobile device generates, from the output of each classifier of the set of classifiers, a prediction of a point of impact of the vehicle collision. The mobile device then transmits an indication of the point of impact to a remote device.

  • Patent number: 11911073
Abstract: A biosensor inserter includes a push member with a push element, a contact member including a latch, a transmitter carrier supporting a transmitter and sensor assembly, and a pivot member having a latch end, the pivot member supporting an insertion device during biosensor insertion. In operation, the push member is telescoped axially by the user relative to the contact member, which is provided in contact with a user's skin. This pushes the push element against the pivot member and translates the transmitter carrier during insertion of the biosensor. During a first portion of a stroke of the insertion device, insertion of the biosensor is accomplished, and the pivot member is prevented from pivoting. In a second portion of the stroke, after latch end moves past the latch, the pivot member is allowed to pivot and the insertion device is retracted. Other system and method embodiments are provided.

  • Publication number: 20230365819
Abstract: Disclosed are the electrochemical effects of crosslinking polymer chains in nanoscale polypyrrole films with aliphatic ethyl (Ppy-Et), propyl (Ppy-Pr), and butyl (Ppy-Bu) groups were investigated. The films are synthesized by pulsed-electrodeposition of polypyrrole followed by a crosslinking reaction with an alkyl dihalide (dibromoethane, dibromobutane, or dibromopropane) in methanol. By changing the length of the alkyl-dihalide crosslinker, it was shown that one can adjust the properties of the polypyrrole films to achieve properties not typical for polypyrrole. The resulting materials exhibit valuable properties in two areas: (1) excluding anions from transport through the polymer, allowing for the creation of cation-selective membranes using polpyrrole crosslinked with ethyl (2 carbon) crosslinker molecules and (2) enhancing the specific capacity by >50% relative to the uncrosslinked polymer using propyl (3 carbon) crosslinker molecules.

  • Publication number: 20230313222
Abstract: The current disclosure provides methods for reprogramming mammalian somatic cells by regulating the expression of endogenous cellular genes. Cellular reprogramming of somatic cells can be induced by activating the transcription of embryonic stem cell-associated genes (e.g., oct3/4) and suppressing the transcription of somatic cell-specific and/or cell death-associated genes. The endogenous transcription machinery can be modulated using synthetic transcription factors (activators and suppressors), to allow for faster, and more efficient nuclear reprogramming under conditions amenable for clinical and commercial applications. The current disclosure further provides cells obtained from such methods, along with therapeutic methods for using such cells for the treatment of diseases amendable to stem cell therapy, as well as kits for such uses.
