  • Publication number: 20170163465
Abstract: A method, carried out by a gateway transmitter (400), aims at compensating the nonlinearities of a communication channel (500) comprising a repeater (510). A plurality of digital signals is modulated (s10) on a plurality of carriers, wherein symbols of the constellation diagram used for modulation of each carrier are distorted in accordance with a pre-distortion function. The modulated signals are then frequency division multiplexed (s20), and sent (s30) for transmission, through the communication channel (500), to at least one receiver (600). The pre-distortion function involves a plurality of polynomial functions, each of which taking as input the symbols from all the carriers. The polynomial functions' coefficients, called “pre-distortion coefficients”, are computed according to a direct learning approach, performed jointly for the plurality of carriers. The pre-distortion coefficients are iteratively updated based on received signals being fed back from a receiver (600).

  • Patent number: 9673570
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a cage member having walls defining an upper port and a lower port configured to receive pluggable modules therein through a front end of the cage member. The cage member houses a communication connector at a rear of the cage member configured to be electrically connected to the pluggable modules received in the upper and lower ports. The walls are manufactured from a conductive material and providing electrical shielding for the pluggable modules. The plurality of walls include side walls, a top wall between the side walls, a bottom wall between the side walls and a divider wall between the side walls. The divider wall separates the upper port from the lower port. The divider wall is positioned closer to the top wall than the bottom wall such that the lower port is taller than the upper port.

  • Patent number: 9672247
Abstract: In order to facilitate the requesting of desired information from a graph database that stores a graph, a system may translate an initial query into a query that can be executed against the graph database. In particular, using primitives, the system may translate a query associated with a type of database (such as a relational database) into the query. The graph may include nodes, edges between the nodes, and predicates to represent and store data with index-free adjacency. Moreover, the primitives may include: a rule based on edges in the graph that expresses a relational schema in the type of database, and information associated with a compound key that specifies a relationship between nodes, edges and predicates in the graph corresponding to a table in the type of database. Then, the system may execute the query against the graph database, and may receive a result that includes a subset of the graph.

  • Patent number: 9672256
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for creating data views. Embodiments of the invention allow automatic creation of data views/projections on top of data sources. A view can be created on one data source (by looking at one or multiple data elements within the data source) or by looking at multiple data sources (of the same or different data types) and combining elements into a view. Data sources can be any kind of data source, including but not limited to: databases, files, and Web services. Views can be picked from a set of predefined views, picked from views of another tenant (either statically or using fuzzy logic), selected based on data element classifications and/or data element relationship classifications, selected based on data usage (e.g., by looking at logs), etc.

  • Patent number: 9666269
Abstract: Collision detection systems for detecting read-write collisions in memory systems after word line activation are disclosed. In one aspect, a collision detection system is provided. The collision detection system includes a collision detection circuit for each bit cell row of memory array. Each collision detection circuit is configured to receive a write and read word line signal corresponding to the bit cell row. The collision detection circuit is configured to detect a write and read word line signal pair being active for a write and read operation for the same bit cell row. The collision detection circuit is configured to generate a collision detection signal to notify clients associated with the memory system that a read-write collision occurred. Detecting the read-write collisions after read word line activation reduces or avoids overhead delays in the read path, as opposed to detecting read-write collisions prior to activation of the read word line.

  • Publication number: 20170145855
Abstract: A housing for retention of the outer race of a bearing of a gas turbine engine includes an arrangement of spring fingers that yields a lightweight housing capable of withstanding very high radial loads combined with very high torsional windup and axial thrust load. Controlled circumferential gaps on both sides of each spring finger limit the deflection and self-arrest the distortion of the housing. An axial gap is created on the aft end by a portion of the spring finger beam structure that opposes an axial face of the housing and limits the axial distortion. A radial gap created between interface hardware of the housing and the inner retention housing also acts to retain the spring finger housing under load in a radial direction.
