  • Publication number: 20170124145
Abstract: A system, method, and an apparatus related to a standardized interface to separate new functions from the primary features of the DTM. This can circumvent the need for modification of the DTM when new functions are desired to be added. This can prevent the necessity of regression testing for existing functions in the DTM, and prevent risk of degradation of performance of the DTM after addition of the new functions. Consequently, by reducing the testing time, development time of upgrades to DTMs can be shortened and a lower cost can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20170126717
Abstract: Lateral movement detection may be performed by employing different detection models to score logon sessions. The different detection models may be implemented by and/or utilize counts computed from historical security event data. The different detection models may include probabilistic intrusion detection models for detecting compromised behavior based on logon behavior, a sequence of security events observed during a logon session, inter-event time between security events observed during a logon session, and/or an attempt to logon using explicit credentials. Scores for each logon session that are output by the different detection models may be combined to generate a ranking score for each logon session. A list of ranked alerts may be generated based on the ranking score for each logon session to identify compromised authorized accounts and/or compromised machines. An attack graph may be automatically generated based on compromised account-machine pairs to visually display probable paths of an attacker.

  • Publication number: 20170127085
Abstract: Techniques and tools for conversion operations between modules in a scalable video encoding tool or scalable video decoding tool are described. For example, given reconstructed base layer video in a low resolution format (e.g., 4:2:0 video with 8 bits per sample) an encoding tool and decoding tool adaptively filter the reconstructed base layer video and upsample its sample values to a higher sample depth (e.g., 10 bits per sample). The tools also adaptively scale chroma samples to a higher chroma sampling rate (e.g., 4:2:2). The adaptive filtering and chroma scaling help reduce energy in inter-layer residual video by making the reconstructed base layer video closer to input video, which typically makes compression of the inter-layer residual video more efficient. The encoding tool also remaps sample values of the inter-layer residual video to adjust dynamic range before encoding, and the decoding tool performs inverse remapping after decoding.

  • Publication number: 20170121819
Abstract: Heights of carrier ring supports are increased at a side of a wafer that is located closer to a spindle of a plasma chamber. The heights are increased relative to a height of a carrier ring support that is located closer to side walls of the plasma chamber. The increase in the height results in an increase in thickness of a thin film deposited on the wafer to further achieve uniformity in thickness of the thin film across a top surface of the wafer.

  • Patent number: 9641614
Abstract: Embodiments provide a method and system for enabling access to a storage device. Specifically, a node may request admittance to a cluster that has read and write access to a storage device. The node seeking access to the storage device must be first be approved by other nodes in the cluster. As part of the request, the node seeking access to the storage device sends a registration key to a storage device. Upon expiration of a registration timer, the node seeking access to the storage device receives a registration table from the storage device and determines whether its registration key is stored in the registration table. If the registration key is stored in the registration table the node has been accepted in the cluster and as a result, has been granted read and write access to the storage device.

  • Publication number: 20170115675
Abstract: Aspects include a method, system, and computer program product for determining a time to a threshold temperature of a device in a data center. A method includes measuring parameters for a device and the data center. A rate of change of temperature is determined based on the parameters. The change is compared to a change threshold. It is determined that a cooling system is operating below a threshold when the change is above the threshold. A first time is determined based on the rate of change of temperature and a machine learning model. The first and second time are compared, where the second time is a time to restore the cooling system above the threshold. A signal is transmitted when the first time is less than the second time. A cooling capacity is determined to have the temperature change of the device be equal to or less than the threshold.

  • Patent number: 9633896
Abstract: Dielectric AlO, AlOC, AlON and AlOCN films characterized by a dielectric constant (k) of less than about 10 and having a density of at least about 2.5 g/cm3 are deposited on partially fabricated semiconductor devices to serve as etch stop layers and/or diffusion barriers. In one implementation, a substrate containing an exposed dielectric layer (e.g., a ULK dielectric) and an exposed metal layer is contacted with an aluminum-containing compound (such as trimethylaluminum) in an iALD process chamber and the aluminum-containing compound is allowed to adsorb onto the surface of the substrate. This step is performed in an absence of plasma. Next, the unadsorbed aluminum-containing compound is removed from the process chamber, and the substrate is treated with a process gas containing CO2 or N2O, and an inert gas in a plasma to form an AlO, AlOC, or AlON layer. These steps are then repeated.
