  • Publication number: 20090182148
Abstract: An improved process for the manufacture of 1-[[[(1R)-1-[3-[(1E)-2-(7-chloro-2-quinolinyl)ethenyl]phenyl]-3-[2-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)phenyl]propyl]thio]methyl]cyclopropane acetic acid, sodium salt [montelukast sodium(I)]. It consists of converting a vital intermediate 1-(mercaptomethyl)-cyclopropane acetic acid of formula IX, to a quaternary ammonium salt of formula X, using a suitable base in a suitable solvent at 0° C. to 50° C. followed by monometalation to provide an intermediate of formula XI and subsequent condensation of XI with 2-[2-[3-(S)-[3-[2-(7-chloro-2-quinolinyl)-ethenyl]phenyl]-3-methanesulphonyloxypropyl]phenyl]-2-propanol at 0 to ?50° C.

  • Patent number: 7560962
Abstract: Generating an output signal having a frequency of 1/(M+F) of the frequency of the input signal, wherein M represents an integer and F represents a non-zero fraction. Assuming F equals (Q/R) in one embodiment, wherein Q and R are integers, R intermediate signals phase shifted by equal degree (relative to the one with closest phase shift) in one clock period of the input signal are generated. A selection circuit may select one of the intermediate signals in one clock cycle, select the successive signals with increasing phase shift in Q clock cycles, and leave the intermediate signal with the same shift as in the previous clock cycle in the remaining ones of the M clock cycles. A counter counts a change of state in the output of the selection circuit, and generates a pulse representing an edge of the output signal at the time instance when counter counts M.

  • Publication number: 20090176525
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for determining a physical uplink power level for transmissions on a physical uplink channel. In one embodiment, a random access channel (RACH) uplink message is transmitted. The RACH uplink message includes a RACH message power level and/or a downlink pathloss figure. A downlink message including a power offset value is received. The physical uplink power level is set for transmissions on the physical uplink channel based on the power offset value. In another embodiment, a RACH uplink message is transmitted and a downlink message including a relative power offset value is received. The physical uplink power level for transmissions on the physical uplink channel is then set based on the relative power off set value.

  • Patent number: 7558287
Abstract: Combined hardware and software processing is applied in an end node of the network which includes mapping/demapping and deskewing. Most of the LCAS procedure is implemented in software so that it can be modified easily. Some of the procedure is implemented in hardware to meet stringent timing requirements. In particular, the handshaking protocol is implemented in software and the procedure for actually changing of the link capacity in response to the handshaking is implemented in hardware. The hardware and software communicate via a shared memory which includes a receive packet FIFO, receive control and status registers, a transmit packet FIFO, transmit control and status registers, and a transmit time slot interchange table.

  • Publication number: 20090168727
Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting or reselecting a home Node-B (HNB), (i.e., a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell), among cells having colliding physical layer signals are disclosed. Once the identity (ID) of an HNB is determined, measurements needed to support cell selection or reselection are performed. A broadcast channel that broadcasts an HNB ID is detected and synchronized to, and information obtained from the broadcast channel is forwarded to a non-access stratum (NAS). The broadcasted HNB ID is checked against an HNB white-list provided by the NAS to determine whether the HNB is suitable for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The WTRU selects the HNB to camp on, or changes from a cell currently serving the WTRU to the HNB if it is determined to be more suitable than the current serving cell.

  • Publication number: 20090166867
Abstract: Cu interconnect structures using a bottomless liner to reduce the copper interfacial electron scattering and lower the electrical resistance are described in this application. The interconnect structures comprise a nucleation layer and a liner layer that may be formed by an oxide or nitride. The bottom portion of the liner layer is removed to expose the nucleation layer. Since the liner is bottomless, the nucleation layer is exposed during Cu deposition and serves to catalyze copper nucleation and enable selective growth of copper near the bottom (where the nucleation layer is exposed), rather than near the liner sidewalls. Thus, copper may be selectively grown with a bottom-up fill behavior than can reduce or eliminate formation of voids. Other embodiments are described.

  • Patent number: RE40821
Abstract: A portable or other electronic device has two or more display devices or screens that can be used to display different subsets of image signals. The effect is that the device simulates the display capabilities of devices having much larger screens. The device has an open or active configuration, in which the multiple screens are available for displaying image signals, and a closed or inactive configuration, in which some or all of the multiple screens are folded together or otherwise stowed away to reduce the size of the device for storage and/or carrying. By simulating large-display operations, electronic devices according to the present invention are capable of presenting more useable information to the user than is otherwise possible using prior art devices having a single small screen.
