  • Patent number: 11396570
Abstract: This invention relates to urethane acrylic hybrid polymer dispersion with robust dry/wet adhesion and the basecoats prepared therefrom for automotive applications. In this system, the polyurethane dispersion (PUD) prepolymer is based on a combination of polyols and aliphatic diisocyanates. The acrylic portion is based on (meth)acrylated monomers. A combination of this hybrid polymer dispersion and other resins having defined glass transition temperature (Tg) values, organic and/or inorganic rheology modifiers, and different additives including pigment, dispersant, and defoamer are used to prepare waterborne basecoats having modified appearance and performance. The final coatings show excellent dry/wet adhesion to the primer for automotive applications.

  • Patent number: 11395566
Abstract: Some example product dispensers that accommodate two full paper towel rolls are provided herein. The product dispenser may employ separate dispensing mechanisms for each product roll and may include roll holders that articulate out from the housing to facilitate easy loading and access to replacement and loading of the other product roll. A roll partition may be utilized to separate the web paths of the two product rolls and enable rotation of front roll holders. Example funnel covers and nip covers can aid with intuitive installation. Example roll holders with retention mechanisms help prevent unintentional dropping of the installed product roll. Other beneficial features include utilizing motor operation sensing to dispense a desired sheet length, automatic/assisted loading into the dispensing mechanism, automatic switching between dispensing of product rolls, and always dispensing from the smaller product roll first. Many other features/structures of example product dispensers are also described herein.

  • Patent number: 11393200
Abstract: A camera captures video imagery depicting a digitally-watermarked object. A reference signal in the watermark is used to discern the pose of the object relative to the camera, and this pose is used in affine-transforming and positioning a graphic on the imagery as an augmented reality overlay. Feature points are also discerned from the captured imagery, or recalled from a database indexed by the watermark. As the camera moves relative to the object, the augmented reality overlay tracks the changing object depiction, using these feature points. When feature point-based tracking fails, the watermark is again processed to determine pose, and the overlay presentation is updated accordingly. In another arrangement, feature points are extracted from images of supermarket objects captured by multiple users, and are compiled in a database in association with watermark data identifying the objects—serving as a crowd-sourced repository of feature point data.

  • Publication number: 20220218278
Abstract: A method includes applying a plurality of electrical stimuli having differing amplitudes at a first position in a brain of a patient. The method further includes, for each of the plurality of electrical stimuli, detecting a resonant response from a target neural structure in the brain, each resonant response evoked by a respective one of the electrical stimuli. The method also includes determining a change in one or more common waveform characteristics between two or more of the detected resonant responses and determining an effectiveness in delivering therapeutic stimulation at the first position based on the change.

  • Patent number: 11387073
Abstract: A system and method that is capable of measuring the incident angle of an ion beam, especially an ion beam comprising heavier ions, is disclosed. In one embodiment, X-rays, rather than ions, are used to determine the channeling direction. In another embodiment, the workpiece is constructed, at least in part, of a material having a high molecular weight such that heaver ion beams can be measured. Further, in another embodiment, the parameters of the ion beam are measured across an entirety of the beam, allowing components of the ion implantation system to be further tuned to create a more uniform beam.

  • Patent number: 11379242
Abstract: An integrated circuit may include elastic datapaths or pipelines, through which software threads or iterations of loops, may be executed. Throttling circuitry may be coupled along an elastic pipeline in the integrated circuit. The throttling circuitry may include dependency detection circuitry that dynamically detect memory dependency issues that may arise during runtime. To mitigate these dependency issues, the throttling circuitry may assert stall signals to upstream stages in the pipeline. Additionally, the throttling circuitry may control the pipeline to resolve a store operation prior to a corresponding load operation in order to avoid store/load conflicts. In an embodiment, the throttling circuitry may include a validator circuit, a rewind block, a revert block, and a flush block. The throttling circuitry may pass speculative iterations through the rewind block, and later validate the speculative iterations using the validator block.

  • Patent number: 11379054
Abstract: A virtual reality system is described herein. The virtual reality system includes a cane controller and a computing system. The cane controller comprises a rod, a sensor, and a brake mechanism, wherein the sensor is configured to generate a signal that is indicative of position, direction of movement, and velocity of the rod, and wherein the brake mechanism is configured to apply a force to the rod. The computing system receives the signal, computes a position, direction of movement, and velocity of a virtual rod in a virtual space, and outputs a control signal to the brake mechanism based upon such computation. The brake mechanism applies the force to the rod in a direction and with a magnitude indicated in the control signal, thereby preventing the user from causing the virtual rod to penetrate a virtual barrier in the virtual space.
