  • Patent number: 5852251
Abstract: A real time dynamic MIDI controller pre-processes MIDI files to facilitate playback by re-formatting stored MIDI files into a modified MIDI file format and simultaneously eliminating MIDI META events that are stored in the file, but unnecessary for playback. The MIDI controller includes an administrator to effect channel grouping, channel voice message grouping, or a combination thereof, to facilitate the control of selected MIDI file parameters. The real time dynamic MIDI controller also includes an output interface circuit to coordinate the transmission of one or more MIDI file that the MIDI controller has processed.

  • Patent number: 5730422
Abstract: A pressure controlled valve for controlling the actions of a piston within a cylinder including a base, the ends thereof having their outer edges protruding outwardly to form respective seal portions which press tightly against the inner walls of an housing of the cylinder and an open end of the cylinder respectively, a T-shaped shaft with a waist portion capable of displacing axially within the base, the ends of the base further having their inner edges extending inwardly to form respective annular seal portions for pressing tightly against the shaft. The base may consist of a base body and a sleeve accommodated within the base, both of which may have their respective ends extending outwardly or inwardly to form seal portions. The waist portion of the shaft always aligns with a radial hole of the base.

  • Patent number: 5702506
Abstract: An aerosol size-selective sampling device is composed of pre-filter, a base housing, and a collector. The device is intended to take an aerosol sample from a given atmospheric air. The pre-filter is composed of two or more porous filtration materials arranged in one end of the base housing in a parallel manner for allowing the atmospheric air to pass therethrough in a parallel and diverting pattern before the atmospheric air is allowed to pass in a converging manner through the collector which is located in another end of the base housing. The pre-filter is able to attain a desired penetration rate profile as a function of an aerodynamic diameter of aerosol contained in the atmospheric air within a predetermined range of aerodynamic diameter.

  • Patent number: 5425108
Abstract: An automatic identification system for a car-plate which comprises a photographing apparatus and an image-processing CPU. The system disclosed in the present invention can be mounted in a car for automatically identifying a car-plate that is under a still or moving condition. The photographing apparatus is used for taking the image of a car-plate, and the image is then transmitted into the image-processing CPU, which accurately extracts the characters of a car-plate using a "Fuzzy inference" technique, and identifies the characters through a character structure analysis neural network. With the automatic identification system of the present invention, an incorrect identification can be avoided in the event the image of a car-plate is blurred, and the characters is deformed or smeared.

  • Patent number: 5370145
Abstract: A collapsible shield including flat spring frame and flexible sheet material. The frame substantially supporting the sheet material to form a shield. During the folding process for storage, the frames can be formed to a loop configuration by bending and having the ends of each frame held together by any suitable means such as coupling, retaining clip. The loop frames are collapsed by twisting and folding to form a plurality of concentric loop rings and layers of fabric to substantially reduce the size of the shield.

  • Patent number: 5093379
Abstract: Low density polyurethane foams having improved resistance to degradation of properties of compression set and flexibility when exposed to elevated temperatures and pressures are made by reacting a polyisocyanate of about 2.3 to 2.7 functionality at an isocyanate index of about 1.0 with a blend of polyols, catalysts, blowing agents and the like in which the polyols are a mixture of a polyether polyol having a molecular weight of at least 5,000 and a polymer polyol, and the catalysts are a mixture of a major portion of an amine catalyst and a minor portion of a metal catalyst. The foams made by this invention are particularly well suited for use as components of sport shoes that are asembled by vulcanization.
