Abstract: A decorative illuminated trim system having at least one mountable base track. The base tracks include a recessed LED seat and two parallel attachment grooves. The trim system includes a cover with two rails. The cover is partially translucent and adjacent the base track such that the rails engage with the attachment grooves. The trim system has at least one LED string between the cover and the LED seat. The LED string includes LED bulbs that receive electric current from an electricity source and emit light. Some of the light emitted by the LED string passes through the cover.

Abstract: The subject matter of this disclosure can be implemented in, among other things, a method performed by a computing device. In these examples, the method includes determining an identity of an originator of an incoming communication using an originating address of the incoming communication, and applying a first set of rules to the identity of the originator of the incoming communication to determine an importance of the incoming communication. The first set of rules includes rules generated based at least on information about the originator included in a directory of the computing device. The method may also include applying a second set of rules to the identity of the originator. The second set of rules includes rules generated based at least on previous interactions between the computing device and the originator.

Abstract: An encrypted security system and associated methods for controlling physical access. The system includes a security server configured to receive a request for authentication from a mobile device, the request comprising information identifying the mobile device and a physical access control device. The security server forwards an encryption message comprising a plurality of unique identifiers to the physical access control device via the mobile device. The physical access control device is configured to authenticate the plurality of unique identifiers in the encryption message and operate an access control mechanism.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and computer program product for managing conversational input. The process authenticates a user on a device in a set of communication devices for manipulating conversation stubs. The process monitors an exchange of conversation for a triggering event on the device in a set of communication devices. Responsive to detecting the triggering event, the process generates a conversation stub that contains information relating to the topic of conversation. The conversation stub is stored in a storage device located remotely to the set of communication devices. Responsive to receiving a selection of the conversation stub, the process presents the conversation stub on a communication device selected from the set of communication devices.

Abstract: An improved orthodontic tensioning device having an elastomeric resilient body portion and first and second connectors which are securely attached to the elastomeric resilient body portion and have elements for connecting with a connecting structure. The orthodontic tensioning device preferably is applied by the orthodontist thus eliminating any dependency on the patient to faithfully wear his elastics. This provides control by the dental professional, and generally may improve results by reducing or eliminating tendencies of those who fail to replace or use elastics.

Abstract: An improved technique is provided for recognizing a character based user interface having several host component types and transforming the character based user interface to a web enabled user interface. Agents are deployed to consume a character stream which composes the character baded user interface. Each agent scans the character based user interface to determine which host component types exist in the character based user interface. Each agent is specifically designed to determine the existence of a different host component type from the other agents. When an agent fins a host component type, a match region is defined containing the characters of the found host component type. Each agent renders their associated match regions to compose the web enabled user interface.

Abstract: A method is provided for promoting agenda awareness in a communication client. A system user's agenda of tasks with associated contact information is provided to the communication client. Matches are sought between the associated contact information from the agenda and a contact in a contact list in the communication client. Contacts matching the associated contact information and the tasks associated with the contact information are presented at a user interface.

Abstract: An ask/respond affinity group referral method and apparatus comprises a community of individuals having an implied social contract, where the individuals are affiliated with each other to provide assistance and help to each other. In such community, the individuals do not know each other, but are joined together to help each other around a common interest. In such community, any individual may ask everybody else a question and the others can each respond. The community is specifically directed to mothers in every phase of their relationship, i.e. grandmothers, single mothers, mothers with husbands in Iraq, mothers with children, mothers without children, et cetera and is, therefore, directed to all kinds of phases and special needs of mothers. An interactive timeline tool serves to record information about their children, to anticipate future child development needs, and to collaborate with other members of the ask/respond affinity group having similar parenting experiences.

Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for a configuration of client work stations for instant messaging, wherein a participant intending to send a particular segment of chat content can elect to send the segment in an “off the record” mode. Content sent in this mode can be viewed but cannot be copied or saved by other instant messaging participants. The apparatus usefully includes a mode select device operable by the participant at a given station to designate each of a succession of chat content segments generated at the given station to be either for unrestricted use, or for off the record use, selectively. The apparatus further includes a component for applying a first use control message to each of the off the records segments sent from the given station to one or more of the other stations.

Abstract: An enhanced collaboration system makes it possible for viewers of post-original video presentations to collaborate online with others who are viewing the same video presentation at the same time. A collaborate room controller establishes and maintains sets of online collaboration sessions for the post-original video presentation with each collaboration session being associated with a particular time slot in the presentation. Typically, a viewer is assigned to a collaboration session that is associated with the user's current view point; i.e., the presentation time slot the user is currently viewing. A graphical user interface conveys information about existing collaboration sessions to the user to assist the user in selecting an appropriate collaboration session.

Abstract: Where users of an online collaboration system are viewing a broadcast presentation having segments of non-local content interspersed with segments of localized content, the collaboration opportunities available to the users are enhanced by providing both a primary chat room available for use by all users of the system and two or more additional chat rooms, each available to subsets of users identified as residents of geographic areas covered by the segments of localized content. In another embodiment, a user may control the availability of one of the additional chat rooms to identified members of a subset without regard to whether members are residents of a certain geographic area.

The visual metadata includes instructions for displaying a graphical icon in a predetermined left-right or up-down orientation, displaying a graphical icon in one of a plurality of predetermined sizes, embedding customized anchor points within a graphical icon for wiring the graphical icon into a logical workflow view, identifying a data type for a workflow component, identifying shape, size, or orientation for the customized anchor points, embedding customized anchor points for individual data elements within a graphical icon so as to provide data wiring associated with visual targets within the workflow component, or various combinations thereof. The visual metadata is bound to the component, or the visual metadata is retrieved by providing a workflow tool with identifying indicia for the component.
