  • Patent number: 10402685
Abstract: Identification of a determinative subset of features from within a group of features is performed by training a support vector machine using training samples with class labels to determine a value of each feature, where features are removed based on their the value. One or more features having the smallest values are removed and an updated kernel matrix is generated using the remaining features. The process is repeated until a predetermined number of features remain which are capable of accurately separating the data into different classes. In some embodiments, features are eliminated by a ranking criterion based on a Lagrange multiplier corresponding to each training sample.

  • Patent number: 10322416
Abstract: A sensor detects the presence of an upper cup in a pair of cups, between which pills are crushed by machine. Operation of the crushing machine is prevented if the upper cup is absent, and enabled if the upper cup is present. The sensor may be a photodiode that is sensitive to a beam of laser light that is directed over the lower cup. The beam passes when the upper cup is absent and is blocked by the upper cup when present. An optional sensor may be included to detect whether the drawer containing the cups and pills is closed, which is used as a further condition that must be satisfied before crushing can be started. Also, an interlock can be included to prevent the drawer from opening during the crushing process. By ensuring the presence of the upper cup, the escape of powdered medication can be prevented.

Abstract: An object tracking system is disclosed. The system comprises an appliance comprising at least one operating volume and an access region through which the operating volume is accessed. The system further comprises at least one imager and a controller. The controller is operable to detect at least one part of a person's body in the access region based on the image data and identify the object in connection with the part of the person's body. • Publication number: 20190004884
Abstract: A collaborative diagnostic system monitors events in a system and identifies a causality chain from a detected performance issue to the root cause of that performance issue. The collaborative diagnostic system includes multiple issue detectors, multiple analysis core modules, and multiple scenario modules that work together to identify the causality chain and root cause. Each issue detector is a module or component that includes logic to detect known behaviors in the system, such as performance issues in the system. Each analysis core module includes logic to analyze and correlate low level system behavior within a conceptual area. Within each analysis core module are one or more diagnostic modules that are specific to that analysis core module to help determine what is happening in the system. Each scenario module includes logic to take an appropriate responsive action in response to the root cause of a performance issue being determined.

  • Patent number: 10140140
Abstract: In various embodiments, methods and systems for remotely customizing a virtual machine in a cloud computing infrastructure are provided. A VM agent component provided on a virtual machine, while in communication with a VM deployment service associated therewith, can be configured to detect an incoming configuration payload that corresponds to a selected one or more extension packages cataloged on a VM marketplace component in communication with the VM deployment service component. Employing the configuration payload, the VM agent component can initialize communication with the extension repository to retrieve the one or more extension packages for storage and installation onto the virtual machine. Upon installing the one or more extension packages, the VM agent component can be configured to communicate a status report to the VM deployment service component for provision to an administrator.

  • Patent number: 10142164
Abstract: A method includes detecting a data flow and an associated originating interface on a network, determining a first link over which to forward the data flow, transmitting the data flow over the determined link, receiving a return data flow and moving a forward direction of the return data flow to a new path if the return data flow arrived via a link other than the first link, wherein all packets following a first packet on the flow are forwarded on the same path as the first packet.

  • Publication number: 20180329767
Abstract: A behavior detection system has access to a collection of behavior definitions that each describe a functional behavior of a system. Each behavior definition includes multiple basic operations, each of which includes an identifier and one or more parameters. The behavior definition also includes, explicitly or inherently, a basic operation combination definition that describes a sequence or other manner in which the basic operations are combined. The behavior detection system analyzes events in an event log for the system and determines whether the events in the event log satisfy any of the behavior definitions. An appropriate responsive action is taken in response to detecting that the events in the event log satisfy a behavior definition. The collection of behavior definitions is scalable, allowing behavior definitions to be added or deleted, and allowing basic operations in a behavior definition to be changed (e.g., adding, removing, and/or modifying basic operation parameters).

  • Patent number: 10110422
Abstract: A method includes generating at a multi-tenant controller on a network a common shared secret for establishing a link between a first site and a second site, transmitting the shared secret to each of the first site and the second site over a secured channel, assigning a wall clock based start and end validity period for the shared secret, sending the shared secret with a future validity to allow secure link communication to continue if one or more elements in both sites cannot communicate with the multi-tenant controller and using a separate shared secret per link per VXWAN.

  • Patent number: 10094175
Abstract: A drilling rig includes a torque track system configured to couple to a derrick and to a top drive of the drilling rig, where the torque track system is configured to resist movement of the top drive in a lateral direction with respect to the derrick and to transfer torsional loads to the derrick in an operating configuration, a first torque track segment of the torque track system, and a second torque track segment of the torque track system coupled to the first torque track segment with a joint. The joint is configured to enable the first torque track segment and the second torque track segment to pivot with respect to one another while maintaining a physical connection between the first torque track segment and the second torque track segment during manipulation of the torque track system into and out of the operating configuration.

  • Patent number: 10083472
Abstract: Availability of recycled auto parts listed in a centralized inventory system is verified by a query to the inventory system carrying the part. The query identifies the part and data about the part of relevance to a potential buyer (such as price, condition, location) to be verified. Verifications can be performed upon explicit user request, or upon actions implicitly requiring verification, such as adding a part to an estimate or shopping cart, ordering a part, or requesting the part seller to hold the part for future purchase, or the like; verification may also be automatically performed for some or all search results. Results of a verification may also be broadcast to the potential buyer and to the part seller (broker and/or part supplier) to enable audit and follow-up on the verification request.
