  • Publication number: 20110200029
Abstract: A method and system for identifying cell clusters within a coordinated multiple point wireless transmission network in order to reduce scheduling complexity while optimizing throughout and performance. The network includes a total number of cells served by corresponding base stations. The BSC divides the entire network of cells into clusters of cells and forwards this clustering information to all mobile devices. A cluster of cell candidates is a subset of the total number of cells within the network. The mobile device then provides to a base station controller the identity of a cluster of preferred cells selected from the cluster of cell candidates. The base station controller selects at least one base station located within the cluster of preferred cells to establish communication with the mobile device. A wireless connection is then established between the selected at least one base station and the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20110134649
Abstract: A lighting assembly having a plurality of light sources and a lens matrix having a plurality of lenses. The lens matrix may be positioned relative to the light sources so that each light source resides in a first orientation within one of the lenses and emits a light distribution. Relative translation between the light sources and the lens matrix alters the orientation of the light sources within the lenses, creating a different light distribution. A light source's orientation may change within the same lens, or the light source may translate to a different lens to alter the distribution of its emitted light.

  • Publication number: 20100258301
Abstract: A well screen assembly includes an elongate base pipe, a shroud layer about the base pipe, and a mesh layer between the shroud layer and the base pipe. A portion of the mesh layer overlaps another position of the mesh layer to form an area of overlap. A spine is positioned proximate substantially an entire length of lie area of overlap, and transmits a force from the shroud layer to the mesh layer that compresses and seals the area of overlap against passage of particulate.

  • Publication number: 20090175230
Abstract: An apparatus for communication using a wireless communication network includes an interleaver and a transceiver. The interleaver co-exists with a localized transmission arrangement if the localized transmission arrangement is present and interleaves data packets for a distributed transmission arrangement by mapping a set of logical indices to a set of physical resource blocks. The set of logical indices include sequential logical indices that are separated by a maximum spacing within the set. The transceiver is in electrical communication with the interleaver. The transceiver is operable to transmit and receive data packets through the wireless communication network.

  • Publication number: 20090002990
Abstract: Embodiments of lighting assemblies disclosed herein are particularly designed for installation in display units to more effectively distribute light towards, and thereby better illuminate, the products housed in the display unit. The lighting assemblies include at least one, but preferably a plurality of, light emitting diodes mounted on a frame. The frame is preferably formed so as to have a number of mounting arms on which to mount the LEDs. In this way, the LEDs can be positioned on the arms and their emitted light can be directed to focus on different aspects of the display unit (i.e., the products housed in the unit, banners or advertisements on the unit, etc.). The lighting assemblies may include, but do not have to include, various optical features to enhance the distribution of light emitted from the LEDs, including, but not limited to, lenses, reflectors, etc.

  • Publication number: 20080306353
Abstract: A method of providing blood glucose therapy for a critically ill patient includes calculating a baseline nutrition feed requirement based on an algorithm that incorporates at least one of age, gender, and body size of the patient: determining a first blood glucose level; determining a second blood glucose level after a preselected time interval: determining a first body temperature reading: comparing the blood glucose levels: and administering either nutrition or insulin. The amount of nutrition administered to the patient is based on a first change in blood glucose level, the current body temperature reading, and a predetermined feed algorithm based on the second blood glucose level as well as the baseline nutritional feed requirement. The amount of insulin administered is based on a second change in blood glucose level, body temperature, and a predetermined insulin algorithm that incorporates at least one of the patient's body frame size, age, and gender.
