  • Patent number: 9491090
Abstract: In some embodiments, a switch module is configured to receive from a first edge device a multicast data unit having a VLAN identifier. The switch module is configured to select a set of port modules based on the VLAN identifier. The switch module is configured to define an unmodified instance of the multicast data unit for each port module from the set of port modules. The switch module is configured to send the unmodified instance of the multicast data unit to each port module from the set of port modules, such that each port module applies a filter to the received instance of the multicast data unit to restrict that received instance of the multicast data unit from being sent to a second edge device via that port module if the second edge device is associated with a VLAN domain different than a VLAN domain of the first edge device.

  • Publication number: 20160284425
Abstract: A packet processing pipeline very efficiently checks for parity errors in memories located along the packet pipeline. The parity check is highly parallelized. For instance, individual unit layouts that are the constituent memory instances of a particular memory execute the parity check in parallel. As another example, each memory along the packet pipeline executes the parity check in parallel with the other memories at other pipeline stages. The parity computation and parity check operations may be implemented in hardware for extremely fast execution.

  • Publication number: 20150371177
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing assistance in scheduling a plurality of tasks pertaining to a project are described. The method may include obtaining information pertaining to each of the plurality of tasks associated with the project for scheduling execution of the plurality of tasks. Further, the method may include computing a certainty index and a controllability index for each of the plurality of tasks. The certainty index and the controllability index is computed based on corresponding certainty scores and controllability scores determined for each of the plurality of tasks. The method also includes distributing the plurality of tasks into quadrants based on a threshold value determined for the certainty index and the controllability index. In addition, the method may include generating a sequence of execution of the plurality of tasks of the project based on the division of the tasks.

  • Publication number: 20150026083
Abstract: A user establishes a profile with an enterprise intelligence system. The user specifies a watchlist identifying entities such as members and/or enterprises in which the user is interested. The user also specifies recommendation criteria specifying the types of recommenders to use to identify connections with the entities. The recommenders are used to identify attributes in common between the user and members, and to generate a connection map describing social connections between the user and the members based on the common attributes. A recommendation model for the user generates decision aiding information. The connection map is organized and presented to the user based on the generated decision aiding information. User interactions with the connection map are observed and the recommendation model is updated based on the observed interactions. A pattern of recommenders preferred by the user is learned from the observed interactions, and is used to guide future decision making.
