  • Patent number: 7127545
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatus and software can implement a multipathing driver using dynamically loadable device policy modules that provide device specific functionality for providing at least one of input/output (I/O) operation scheduling, path selection, and I/O operation error analysis. Because the device policy modules include device specific functionality, various different devices from different manufacturers can be more efficiently and robustly supported.

  • Publication number: 20050287611
Abstract: A bridging assay that utilizes a multivalent MHC binding molecule to enumerate the number of antigen-specific CTLs in a particular sample and also determines the functional capability of the CTL population in the sample is provided. In one embodiment, the assay is used to measure the effector function of any tetramer-positive CTL using a single non-MHC-containing target cell line that is adapted to form an antibody bridge with the tetramer. Furthermore, effector function and enumeration can be measured by flow cytometry, and additional markers residing on either effector or target cell populations may be detected using antibodies coupled with other fluorochromes. The tetramer bridging assay will allow investigators to easily determine the lytic capacity and antigenic specificity of CTLs using a commercially available reagent in a non-radioactive assay.

  • Patent number: 6424352
Abstract: A method of generating data representing an input profile defining a relationship between input color data generated by an input device and modified in accordance with a predetermined algorithm, and corresponding device independent data. The method comprises: a) operating the input device on a range of predetermined input colors to generate said input color data; b) processing said input color data in accordance with the predetermined algorithm to generate output data suitable for operating an output device; c) converting said output data to said device independent data; and, d) generating said input profile data such that application of said input profile to said input color data substantially generates said device independent data.

  • Patent number: 6328056
Abstract: An unbalance compensated bypass valve (14, 21, 23) for a gas turbine engine fuel supply system is responsive to the fuel pressure differential across a fuel metering valve (15) to open and close a bypass orifice (37, 39, 41; 89, 91, 93; 99, 101, 103). The bypass valve (14, 21, 23) selectively supplies high fuel pressure to a compensating cavity (45, 95, 120) providing a counterbalancing force against an annular area (47, 97, 124) of the bypass valve piston (34, 81, 83, 111, 112) to compensate for increased restorative forces of a helical reference spring (57, 112, 125) as that spring is collapsed as well as to compensate for other unbalance conditions within the valve (14, 21, 23). The compensating cavity may include a variable orifice inlet (37, 39, 41), (99, 101, 103), or (89, 91, 93) and a variable orifice outlet (105, 107, 109) or the inlet orifice may be variable while the outlet orifice (43, 96, 99) is fixed.

  • Patent number: 6036374
Abstract: A cam (23) provides a rotating guide surface (33) for the cage (30) of the roller elements (25, 26) of a bearing (22) used to support the load on the cam of an axial piston pump (11) that uses pistons (17, 18) having no shoes or slippers. The rotating guide surface (33) is provided by extending a cylindrical surface (34) from the rotating cam (23) through the inside diameter, or around the outside diameter of the rolling element cage (30), concentric to the centerline of rotation.

  • Patent number: 6031533
Abstract: A method of providing a graphical user interface on a client network device is described. The client network device is coupled to a server network device and has a local storage facility, such as a hard disk unit, storing a first version of a software program. The method requires the selection of the first version of the software program as an execution version of the software program. A graphic object identifying the software program is displayed, the graphic object being user selectable to execute the execution version of the software program. A version control indicator, for example an icon, is displayed and indicates to a user of the client network device whether or not a second version of the software program, propagated to the client network device from the server network device, will automatically be selected as the execution version of the software program.

  • Patent number: 5835711
Abstract: A leaky bucket checker which combines synchronous updates with event driven asynchronous updates triggered by packet arrivals. A synchronous update is performed exactly as an event-driven update by assuming that a packet of length zero has arrived at the time of the update. These updates are performed in a round robin fashion on each connection. Therefore, assuming that one such update can be performed in each clock tick, the maximum bit representation of the last update time state variable can be limited to N bits for 2.sup.N total connections. Given the reduced processing and storage costs, a great number of network connections and leaky bucket checkers is possible.
