  • Publication number: 20140277739
Abstract: A flexible exosuit includes rigid and flexible elements configured to couple forces to a body of a wearer. Further, the flexible exosuit includes flexible linear actuators and clutched compliance elements to apply and/or modulate forces and/or compliances between segments of the body of the wearer. The flexible exosuit further includes electronic controllers, power sources and sensors. The flexible exosuit can be configured to apply forces to the body of the wearer to enable a variety of applications. In some examples, the flexible exosuit can be configured to augment the physical strength or endurance of the wearer. In some examples, the flexible exosuit can be configured to train the wearer to perform certain physical tasks. In some examples, the flexible exosuit can be configured to record physical activities of the wearer.

  • Publication number: 20140199083
Abstract: A repeater amplifier assembly that includes at least two chassis containing optics and electronics. The chassis are connected with a size-adjustment mechanism that can adjust a size of the repeater amplifier assembly by reversibly adjusting the positions of the chassis with respect to each other. To insert the repeater amplifier assembly into a repeater housing, the repeater amplifier assembly is accessed in a contracted position. The amplifier is inserted into the housing, and then a control of the size adjustment mechanism is actuated to urge the chassis outwards until the chassis push against the repeater housing. To remove the repeater amplifier assembly from the repeater housing, the control is actuated to cause the size adjustment mechanism to pull the chassis inwards with respect to each other until the chassis no longer push against the repeater housing. The repeater amplifier assembly may then be freely removed from the repeater housing.

  • Publication number: 20140151294
Abstract: A wastewater recycling system includes a biological reactor having anaerobic, anoxic, and aerobic chambers. A lift station including a pump is operatively connected to the biological reactor. The lift station receives biologically treated liquid from the biological reactor and pumps the liquid from the lift station. A filtration subsystem is operatively connected to the lift station. The filtration subsystem receives and filters the liquid pumped by the lift station. The filtration subsystem includes a salt-rejecting membrane filter comprising a concentrate recirculation conduit operatively connected to recirculate salt-rejecting membrane filter concentrate to a point along the wastewater recycling system upstream of the salt-rejecting membrane filter, thereby forming a salt concentration loop between said point along the wastewater recycling system and the salt-rejecting membrane filter.

  • Publication number: 20140099622
Abstract: A design application allows one or more authors to create a learning path associated with a given topic. The learning path includes content curated from various online resources. The design application allows the authors to aggregate the content from the various online resources. The design application allows the author to curate content to include or associate with nodes. The design application also allows the authors to arrange the nodes in a hierarchy. When the learning path is complete, the design application presents the learning path to users. Users access the content within the learning path according to the hierarchy of the nodes. Advantageously, the author is able to present content, which may otherwise be distributed across the internet, within a cohesive learning path.
