  • Patent number: 10417405
Abstract: A device can be configured to receive speech input from a user. The speech input can include a command for accessing a restricted feature of the device. The speech input can be compared to a voiceprint (e.g., text-independent voiceprint) of the user's voice to authenticate the user to the device. Responsive to successful authentication of the user to the device, the user is allowed access to the restricted feature without the user having to perform additional authentication steps or speaking the command again. If the user is not successfully authenticated to the device, additional authentication steps can be request by the device (e.g., request a password).

  • Publication number: 20190264569
Abstract: A turbine blade including an airfoil extending radially from a platform above a shank is disclosed. The airfoil has a leading edge; a trailing edge; and a pressure side wall and a suction side wall extending between the leading edge and trailing edge. The turbine blade includes a chamber in at least one of the airfoil and platform. The chamber is configured to deliver a first fluid therein having a higher pressure than a second fluid in a wheel space adjacent the shank. The turbine blade includes an exiting hole in fluid communication with the chamber, positioned at a location upstream of the leading edge and circumferentially to a side of a selected side wall of the pressure side wall and suction side wall. In operation, the first fluid exits the exiting hole to increase a momentum of a boundary layer film near the selected side wall, preventing wheel space leakage from negatively impacting the boundary layer film.

  • Publication number: 20190252838
Abstract: An assembly detachably securing an electrical device to a support surface includes a support socket, a first coaxial electrical connector slidable within the support socket via a biasing element, a fitting module connectable to the electrical device has a second co-axial electrical connector for connection with the first coaxial electrical connector. An internal wall of the support socket includes projections, each defining a camming surface and a retaining recess; an external wall of the fitting module comprises externally projecting lugs. The fitting module is secured into the support socket by pushing in the axial direction against the biasing element, such that a lug is directed along a camming surface to thereby move itself or another lug between two projections to enter a retaining recess. The fitting module is released from the support socket by pushing in the axial direction against the biasing element.

  • Patent number: 10374877
Abstract: An initial node deployment to form a cluster involves execution of program code to begin discovering other nodes on a LAN that will constitute the cluster. A node initially starts processes to obtain information to transition from an unconfigured state to a configured state. The nodes on the LAN can execute a discovery process that facilitates forming and configuring of the cluster, but the discovered information is confined within the LAN. This effectively blocks cluster configuration until someone locally connects to a host and retrieves a node address. To remove this obstacle, a node image can include program code to detect a compliant target device and extract to the target device an address of a discovered node that is valid for remote cluster configuration. The target device can then be used to convey the extracted address to allow commencement of cluster configuration remotely.

  • Patent number: 10353091
Abstract: Visually enhancing a geological feature in 3D seismic survey data may include selecting a first seismic trace from a 3D seismic survey dataset. Said first seismic trace is subdivided into a plurality of identified characteristic segments. At least one first analytical model function is generated for each of said plurality of identified characteristic segments. At least one adapted wavelet from an existing dictionary is utilized. A matching characteristic is determined between said first seismic trace and said at least one first analytical model function. Said at least one first analytical model function is optimized with respect to said matching characteristic. Both determining a matching characteristic, and optimizing said at least one first analytical model function, are repeated until a predetermined condition is met. A model dataset is generated from said optimized at least one first analytical model function for at least part of said first seismic trace for visual representation.

  • Publication number: 20190117263
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to software used in planning the correction of bone deformities preoperatively or postoperatively, and in particular relates to virtually manipulating rings and struts of an external fixation frame in order to plan the steps for making a desired correction to two or more bone portions of a patient. The software can be used prior to surgery, allowing a user to virtually define a bone deformity, and virtually add and manipulate fixation rings and struts to the bone deformity. Based on the virtual manipulations, a correction plan can be generated that describes length adjustments that should be made to the plurality of model struts over a period of time to correct the bone deformity. The software can also be used after surgical fixation of the fixation frame and struts to the deformed bone.
