  • Publication number: 20170295760
Abstract: A method of affixing an overflow system to an aquarium is disclosed. The aquarium has a bottom, at least one sidewall, an open top surrounded by a top edge, and a frame having a bottom edge. The method includes positioning an overflow device in the aquarium. The overflow device has a front wall, a back wall, a first sidewall and a second sidewall all secured to a bottom wall and extending upward therefrom to create a chamber having an open top. The front wall, the back wall, and the first and second sidewalls all have a plurality of slots formed therethrough which are configured to receive water from the aquarium into the chamber, and the bottom wall has an enlarged aperture formed therethrough. A first aperture is formed through the sidewall of the aquarium and an attachment mechanism is used to attach the enlarged aperture to the first aperture.

  • Publication number: 20170281233
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to software used in planning the correction of bone deformities preoperatively or postoperatively, and in particular relates to virtually manipulating rings and struts of an external fixation frame in order to plan the steps for making a desired correction to two or more bone portions of a patient. The software can be used prior to surgery, allowing a user to virtually define a bone deformity, and virtually add and manipulate fixation rings and struts to the bone deformity. Based on the virtual manipulations, a correction plan can be generated that describes length adjustments that should be made to the plurality of model struts over a period of time to correct the bone deformity. The software can also be used after surgical fixation of the fixation frame and struts to the deformed bone.

  • Patent number: 9746329
Abstract: Systems and methods for augmenting an inertial navigation system (INS) include outputting from the INS position information associated with the implement and adjusting the implement based upon a comparison of the position information of the implement and a desired position of the implement. The INS is periodically re-initialized using error estimates generated by a kalman filter as a function of position information from one or more positioning (or measuring) devices, such as a fan laser, an automatic total station (ATS), a GNSS receiver, or a ground based radio positioning system, to correct a drift of the position information that may be caused by inherent characteristics of the INS.

  • Patent number: 9737058
Abstract: An overflow system is disclosed for use with a tank having a side wall. The overflow system includes an overflow device having a front wall, a back wall, a first sidewall and a second sidewall all secured to a bottom wall and extending upward therefrom to create a chamber having an open top. The front wall, back wall and first and second sidewalls have a plurality of slots formed therethrough. The overflow device is positioned in the tank such that a portion of the plurality of slots is disposed below the fluid line of the tank so as to receive fluid from the tank into the chamber. The bottom wall has an enlarged aperture formed therethrough. The overflow system also includes a first aperture formed through the sidewall of the tank. The first aperture is positioned below the bottom wall of the overflow device. An attachment mechanism attaches the bottom wall of the overflow device to an inside surface of the sidewall of the tank. The attachment means passes through the first aperture.

  • Patent number: 9662351
Abstract: Despite its narrow therapeutic window, lithium is regarded as the gold standard comparator and benchmark treatment for mania. Attempts to find new drugs with similar therapeutic activities have yielded new chemical entities. However, these new drugs have yet to match the many bioactivities attributable to lithium's efficacy for the treatment of neuropsychiatric diseases. Consequently, an intense effort for re-engineering lithium therapeutics using crystal engineering is underway. The evaluation of pharmacokinetics of previously unexplored lithium salts with organic anions (i.e. lithium salicylate) has found that these lithium salts exhibit profoundly different pharmacokinetics compared to the more common FDA approved salt, lithium carbonate, in rats. Remarkably, lithium salicylate produced elevated blood and brain levels of lithium beyond 48 hours post-dose without the sharp peak that contributes to the toxicity problems of current lithium therapeutics.
