  • Patent number: 10330040
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for learning fuel injector error for cylinder groups during a deceleration fuel shut-off (DFSO), where all cylinders of an engine are deactivated, sequentially firing each cylinder of a cylinder group, each cylinder fueled via consecutive first and second fuel pulses of differing fuel pulse width from an injector. Based on a lambda deviation between the first and second pulses, a fuel error for the injector and an air-fuel ratio imbalance for each cylinder is learned. Alternatively or additionally, a difference in crankshaft acceleration between the first and second pulses relative to the expected deviation may be used to learn torque error, and adjust fuel injector error and air-ratio imbalance for each cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20190173759
Abstract: A determination is made that network access between a virtualized graphics device and a compute instance of a client is to be enabled. A source network address for graphics-related traffic of the compute instance is identified. From a range of source port numbers associated with the source network address, a particular source port number which is unused is found. Routing metadata is transmitted to one or more routing devices indicating that a key based at least in part on (a) the source network address and (b) the particular source port number is to be used to identify a route for network packets from the first application compute instance to a virtualized graphics device.

  • Publication number: 20190114761
Abstract: In various embodiments, a defective pixel detection application automatically detects defective pixels in video content. In operation, the defective pixel detection application computes a first set of pixel intensity gradients based on a first frame of video content and a first neighborhood of pixels associated with a first pixel. The defective pixel detection application also computes a second set of pixel intensity gradients based on the first frame and a second neighborhood of pixels associated with the first pixel. Subsequently, the defective pixel detection application computes a statistical distance between the first set of pixel intensity gradients and the second set of pixel intensity gradients. The defective pixel detection application then determines that the first pixel is defective based on the statistical distance.

  • Publication number: 20190004687
Abstract: Presented here are systems and methods to enable software applications to display images on irregular screen shapes containing the shape without display functionality. In one embodiment, the shape without display functionality is confined within a bounding shape, which, when subtracted from the irregular screen shape leaves a rectangular area of the screen where the image can be displayed. The area within the bounding shape can be occupied by images provided by the operating system associated with the irregular screen, such as a status bar and/or navigation bar. In another embodiment, the image can be displayed on the full irregular screen, such that the shape without display functionality covers a part of the image. When the occluded part of the image contains a critical object, such as a menu item, a button, etc., the image can be modified to move the critical object out of the area occluded by the shape without display functionality.

  • Publication number: 20190007532
Abstract: Disclosed here are systems and methods which enable high-bandwidth communication between a mobile device and an accessory. The high-bandwidth communication uses electromagnetic waves in the extremely high frequency range between 30 GHz and 300 GHz inclusive, also known as millimeter waves. The millimeter waves travel through at least the chassis of the accessory and the chassis of the mobile device without significant scattering and attenuation. The properties of the materials through which the millimeter waves travel determine the attenuation of the millimeter waves. Disclosed here are various materials, and their thicknesses, which form a transmission stack through which the millimeter waves can travel unimpeded. In effect, the transmission stack acts as a dielectric member which facilitates the transmission of the millimeter waves, while attenuating transmission of waves outside of the extremely high frequency range.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for dynamic interface synchronization for virtualized graphics processing are disclosed. A GPU interface synchronization request is sent from a compute instance to a graphics processing unit (GPU) server via a network. The GPU server comprises a virtual GPU attached to the compute instance and implemented using at least one physical GPU. Based at least in part on the GPU interface synchronization request, a shared version of a GPU interface is determined for use with the compute instance and the GPU server. Program code of the shared version of the GPU interface is installed on the compute instance and on the GPU server. Using the shared version of the GPU interface, the compute instance sends instructions to the virtual GPU over the network, and the virtual GPU generates GPU output associated with the instructions.

  • Patent number: 10167806
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting engine operating conditions for reduction of NOx emissions. In one example, immediately after a fuel shut-off event, in response to an oxygen content of an exhaust catalyst being higher than a threshold, manifold charge cooling may be increased by increasing the portion of fuel delivered to the engine via manifold injection relative to the portion to fuel delivered via one or more of port and direct injection. By increasing manifold cooling, NOx production may be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20180328304
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for calibrating engine port injectors. After pressurizing a low pressure fuel rail, a lift pump may be disabled and port injector variability may be correlated with a measured fuel rail pressure drop at each port injection event by sweeping injection pressure while maintaining injection voltage, and then sweeping injection voltage while maintaining injection pressure. A port injector variability map learned as a function of injection voltage and injection pressure is then transformed into a map learned as a function of injection current and injection pressure by accounting for injector variability caused due to changes in injector temperature.
