  • Publication number: 20200065758
Abstract: Described herein are exemplary systems and methods for the optimization of shipping cartons relative to the contents of orders to be placed therein. An exemplary carton optimization method evaluates a sample size of orders received at a given location and then determines an optimal carton set that includes at least one feasible carton for each order, while also minimizing shipping costs based on dimensional weighing-based pricing by reducing the dimensional weight, thereby minimizing void space and increasing the carton space utilization percentage. An exemplary carton optimization method may be further customized to optimize a carton set for an order, based on the cartons already available at a given warehouse or other site. As a result, cartons are utilized and designed more efficiently at the site.

  • Publication number: 20190349312
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product that includes a processor assigning a network connection to an application, based upon the application requesting the network connection from a pool of network connections for connecting applications to a network resource, the assigned network connection for communicating a message with the network resource. The processor replaces the assigned network connection in the pool with a placeholder comprising configuration data of the assigned connection. The processor determined a period of inactivity of the assigned network connection, and the processor returns the assigned network connection to the pool, based upon the period reaching a defined threshold of inactivity.

  • Publication number: 20190324782
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer program product, and system for class splitting in object-oriented environments in which objects are created by classes. Data is analyzed, in response to generating an instance of an original class in a code component. Fields are separated into sets based on the code paths that access the fields. A split class is generated for a set of fields which shares a common interface with the original class. Cells are replaced in the code component to the original class with a split class.

  • Publication number: 20190108592
Abstract: Analyzing a performance of an asset in a portfolio includes retrieving, from a number of financial sources, information for a list of trades, the list of trades representing assets associated with a portfolio that have been traded during a time interval, determining, based on the information, a number of returns associated with the list of trades over the time interval, creating, for each trade of the assets in the list of trades, a remainder fraction, the remainder fraction being equal to an initial fraction for that trade, determining, for each sale of the assets in the list of trades, a rebalancing trading profit contribution to a portfolio return over the time interval via trade attribution matching, computing an incidental exposure residual to the portfolio return over the time interval, and presenting, based on the rebalancing trading profit contribution and the incidental exposure residual, a performance of the assets in the portfolio.

  • Patent number: 10135953
Abstract: Industrial devices are configured to provide their associated industrial data to client-side user interface applications in a self-describing manner that instructs the interface applications how the data is to be rendered. In response to a request for a data item from a user interface application, the industrial device sends the requested data item together with presentation metadata that identifies a widget or graphical objects to be used by the interface application to render the data item on a user interface. By providing the industrial data in a self-describing manner, additional data or services can be added to the industrial device without requiring a corresponding update to the client-side interface application.

  • Patent number: 10121461
Abstract: Providing feedback on a musical performance performed with a musical instrument. An instrument profile associated with the musical instrument used to perform the musical performance is identified. The instrument profile comprises information relating to one or more tuning characteristics of the instrument.
